The French version of Show Yourself is a yikes

I seriously don't know how they manage to change the song's meaning so easily. I tolerated Let it go because of the vocal performance that was really good and powerful but Show Yourself ? Please don't.

And I'm not talking vocally, I'm saying this because of one specific part of the song, the part where Elsa belts out : "I am found" after seeing her mother in Ahtohallan

That part was so powerful I teared up, and I really didn’t expect tears that day.

So why did they think it would be a good idea to translate "I am found" to “Rien ne meurt" which literally means "Nothing dies" ? I mean okay it is nice, it's deep and stuff but it's not really the point of the song.

In show yourself Elsa quite literally finds herself—what/who she really is, and in the French version they made it a kind of reunion thing between Elsa and her mother, and it’s cute, but like I said : it is not what the song was fully about.

The same thing happened with Let it go :

- "let the storm rage on" = "Perdue dans l'hiver" = "lost in the winter/snow".

They kind of did the same thing in some parts of Into the Unknown I'll give some examples again :

- "I've had my own adventure, I don't need something new" to "I've tried adventure, and I lost myself"

- "I'm afraid of what I'm risking if I follow you" to "I don't want to leave"

By doing this they also change the meaning of the songs and it is way too important in a movie like this. The songs definitely aren't bad, if I did not watch the movie in English I would have been okay with all of this, but since I didn't, I clearly know the original message that the writers wanted to portray and it really is way too bad that some people will not get to fully understand all of it.

Guess it's one of the cons of translation

Okay so it's just a little question but who between Elsa and Anna is taller ? They're making me confused 😠

It’s also the first time that Elsa felt the cold if we're being logical

It Had To Happen To Both Of Them.
It Had To Happen To Both Of Them.

It had to happen to both of them.
