“ pfft. yeah, i’ll do it! “  denki knew he’d backed himself into a corner this time, and he’s sure ruby knew it too. he couldn’t back down from a direct dare like that, he’d never hear the end of it. it’s times like these that denki maybe started to wish that he didn’t run off at the mouth quite so much. but it was too late now, so he accepted his fate and took the pepper off of ruby’s plate, tossing it into his mouth before he could chicken out.

“ see, it’s not so bad! “  he told her as he started chewing. of course, the words come much too soon as the heat starts setting in. he tries his best not to show his growing discomfort, but soon he is red faced and panting.  “ still fine, it’s fine. “  he assures ruby as he releases a shock of electricity to his tongue, effectively numbing it a bit against the spicy onslaught of the pepper. the numb tongue only slurs his words a little as he attempts to speak again.

“ told you i could do it. “

“ here, ” eijirou is then handed a picture. it looks like it came from an old camera because of the fact it's in a polaroid. it's a picture of his favorite, a red deliah, and the teenager had known because he had asked earlier this morning. blue eyes blind as the camera around his neck suddenly weighs heavier. “ thanks.. for helping me. ” it's shy, something that TJ didnt show to others often.

“ oh! “  kirishima looked at the photo for a long moment, the question from earlier that day finally making sense. he still felt bad for how he found out about tj’s situation, he hadn’t meant to pry or seem like he had been. but maybe now he could help his classmate out and it would be worth it. tj had always struck kirishima as similar to bakugou, at least in his standoffish treatment of others. though it made sense now, and kirishima only hoped that having someone else to talk to about this would ease some of the pressure and let him relax more. 

“ this is great! i’ll totally put it up on my wall, thanks! and no problem, i’m always happy to help, man. i mean it! “
