how do you draw so good🙏
Tysm for the ask! ❤️
As generic as this sounds, I recommend practicing a lot. I’ve always enjoyed drawing, but didn’t get super invested into it until about 3-4 years ago. Part of the reason I feel like I improved so quickly is because I used lots of tips I got on Pinterest and YT! Not to mention I began to use references a lot more in like 6th grade (pls do utilize them whenever you can 🙏 they speed up your improvement so much more). One thing I really enjoy about references is that they also train your eyes to break down the shapes of whatever you’re drawing after you use them for a while, which in my opinion, is crucial when it comes to anything related to art. A lot of the time when I fixtate on a piece of media, I always try to teach myself the artstyle of it so that I can draw the ocs I make for it! I feel like this also kinda helps with my art since it allows me to be more flexible/diverse with what I can draw. For example, when I started South Park around mid January/very early February, I became very drawn to the simplicity of the artstyle and studied it with every episode I watched. Eventually, I began trying to teach it to myself. It took me about a couple months to get to where I am now in terms of replicating the show’s style. To be honest, while I do enjoy trying to be as show accurate as possible, it’s more common to see me put my own small twists on the style. One thing I find helpful about the SP style is that it actually helps me draft out poses for when I draw in my normal style. Attempting to replicate art-styles from different medias also helps me since I can pick out aspects/characteristics I like from each of them and apply them to my personal style and process!
