The Different Types Of Dissociative Amnesia;

The different types of dissociative amnesia;

(This is important information that I feel should be spread around, however the blog on which I found it, mentioned in, and tagged the post with things such as "endo safe" and "multiorigin" so this one is for those who do not want to associate with those)

Blackout: there is no memory, just a gap of time. This can range from a few minutes, hours, days, months, and even years.

Greyout: This is like you remember somewhat, just not super well. This is kind of a spectrum. It can range from barely remembering something, to having a decent amount, but it’s still very blurry and details are missing.

Emotional: This refers to you can remember it, but it doesn’t feel like it was you. Like a movie you watched.

Any system can experience amnesia, though not every system will.

fusion is not "killing" alters. it's a form of healing. im so fucking tired. i know everyone's experiences with it are different but i need people to understand there is nothing wrong with pursuing final fusion as a system. even if it's not what you or your system want, you're allowed to have your reasons for that but please stop spreading this narrative and this rhetoric that alters fusing is this terrible thing, it's literally a sign of healing.

dissociative identity disorder is not just a fun alter disorder with friends in your head.

dissociative identity disorder is migraines and intense headaches when dissociated.

dissociative identity disorder is confusion and finding it hard to even form sentences at times.

dissociative identity disorder is every negative reaction to a situation that you could imagine, reactions that aren’t even coming from you.

dissociative identity disorder is feeling so detached from your own self that you have no idea who you are and what you even enjoy.

dissociative identity disorder is impulsivity and self destruction in so many ways. it can be violent and feel completely out of your control.

it’s so much more than just the disorder where you have alters, it’s something that can affect your every emotion and how you feel connected to the world around you. it’s a horrifying and isolating experience that takes you out of the life that you should be living your best in.

it’s a trauma disorder with a list of symptoms. not just the one uneducated people focus on because it seems to be the most “interesting” one.
