You know what I was thinking? If kookmin really are a cover up for any other ships...they're REALLY going out of the way to cover it up. Cuz like.......that day when kookmin went out with jm's friends? Like I heard that they specifically asked for that time off. They didn't want any cameras there. The pics we got were from fans I believe. Why would the company go SO out of the way to make it look like koomin requested not to be recorded just to show how real it is? Why would they be like "ok jk you need to nibble his ear precisely at this moment". Why would they say "you need to hold his waist here and rock with him a little bit like a romantic slow dance". Why would they say "you need to turn around at this moment and sing these specific words to each other" "also jin I want you to smile at them discreetly just to show how fond you are of the cute couple". Why would they make them have those very miniscule and domestic-type moments JUST to cover up another ship? The logic isn't logicking. And the utter disrespect that would be to whoever they're "actually with". They would not let themselves be disrespected like that and they wouldn't let their "real" partner be disrespected like that either.

I don't know if they specifically requested not to be filmed but it makes sense, in Break the Silence we saw what all the members did in their free time in London except what Jimin, Jungkook and Yoongi did. If it wasn't for fans filming them in the restaurant or walking around London, we wouldn't have known about it.

One thing I've never understood about that argument is how it makes sense to the people who believe it, that BHM is covering up one lgtbi+ couple with another lgtbi+ couple? and even worse, how it makes sense that in that couple supposedly designed to protect the real lgtbi+ couple is one of the people who is supposedly part of the real couple? How does that make sense?

For example, if taekook is real and jikook was created to protect them, why would Jungkook be part of the "fake couple"? People would still think he's lgtbi+... right? OR the idea is to protect Tae and Jungkook doesn't matter? And what you say is true, how would the real partner of one or both of them agree with that? Because it's not just fanservice on stage. It's basically all the time. During rehearsals, in their free time etc.

If Jimin and Jungkook's relationship is faked, if they've been faking it FOR YEARS, if it's all fanservice, I hope the company is paying them well enough, and we should start a campaign to get them an Oscar because my god, that's commitment.

Hi Theo I’m a gay army, fan boy. I wanted to ask you if you sometimes experience this too because it makes me sad. Not so much on tumblr but in other army formats, I feel very left out and sometimes people are passive aggressive. When I say that jimin has non toxic masculinity and he has great feminine qualities too, people get angry at me. I’m not saying he’s queer I’m just saying I like him as he is but other army get defensive and say he’s very masculine and defend his honour in a way which comes across as defending his perceived cis het status or something. I feel very unwelcome sometimes and like there’s no queer space in the fandom and like a lot of people would hate the members of any of them aren’t cis het. I struggle to meet fans like me. On tumblr it’s ok but elsewhere I feel left out and like while fans are happy to support lgbt in theory they get angry if gay fans make queer culture comments. Like I saw some fans angry that queer fans identify with stigma. And it makes me sad to think if an members are lgbt they might not be like. And that makes me feel bad about me too.

ur definitely not alone in feeling this way! and honestly i feel like it happens in a lot of different fandoms, especially those that seem to be dominated by cishet women. but i've come to learn that bts' fanbase is one of the most diverse i've seen, you just gotta know where and how to find other lgbt fans! unfortunately cishet fans are always gonna be...loud as hell. nevermind the fact that 7 men in one group are NOT all gonna be cishet and some fans are gonna have to deal with that one, but it's ignorant and homophobic/transphobic at worst for fans to act like the celebrities they like would never in a million years be anything but cishet. jimin IS feminine, and i go as far as to call him gender non-conforming because, as far as i can tell and as a gnc/trans person myself, he is. and he embraces this and has talked about the struggles he faced with the hypermaculine image that was forced on him during the early years of his career. cishet fans denying him of that and going as far as to say he's only ever masculine is gross and i'm sure he wouldn't appreciate the downplaying of his presentation when he had to go through a lot of self reflection to get here. and about stigma! that song is so relatable to lgbt fans for a reason and taehyung has never once shunned us for thinking it's about lgbt identity like... cishet fans are always so entitled one way or another when they literally have no reason to be 😭 but ANYWAYS you have every right to exist as a gay/lgbt army and i guarantee you bts love that you're here!!

Can people please shut the fuck up about how “shipping every male character is harmful to the male friendship representation”

Literally almost every single peace of media has platonic male friendships in it and almost none of them ends up in a canon relationship. So there IS representation. Some people shipping those characters don’t take away their canon friendship.

And it doesn’t only happen to the male friendships. Every close female and male/female friendship you see on screen will always have people shipping them.

Because guess what? That’s how fandoms work. It doesn’t only happen with male friendships.

Are we really ignoring all the people who assume every man and woman who breaths the same air are canonically in love with each other? But somehow it’s only a problem when queer people do it.

Are we really ignoring how we get so little male/female friendships in media without writers turning it romantic at some point?

But we never get to see two close male leads of an action movie kissing at the end do we? So shut up about “friendship representation” You have tons of platonic friendships.

And the thing is, a lot of people who say this don’t even care about platonic friendships or mlm fetishization by straight girls. They’re just trying to find a way to put queer ships down. They never say “I think this two specific characters are good friends so I don’t like it when people ship them”

Instead, it’s always “these characters showed a little pinch of interest to opposite gender so they’re straight. just let people be friends and stop making everything gay”

Because they’re not actually mad about people shipping two close friends together. They’re mad about people offering the possibility of some fictional characters not being straight
