Second of all,

Cirnu, just like she does with the entire student body and ESPECIALLY fellow Diasomnia students, will dote on and care for her but not like how one treats a child, even if she does call everyone “a cute child”-- rather, she’ll watch over them, including Daphne, from seemingly the shadows and is always willing to help and guide them as well as being supportive with any of their decisions, though she will offer her own thoughts on the matter, but will leave the final decision to them.

Bel, or rather Berebis, couldn’t give even a single fuck about whether or not there’s a new person joining the dormitory. You’re a girl? Okay. You’re a boy? Sure, whatever. He really doesn’t seem to care. He’ll cooperate, but it doesn’t mean that he’ll be friends with Daph since it’s deeply ingrained in him to be very skeptic and distrustful of others, even more so when they act nice and all that.

As for Fuyu, she’s just mainly confused as to why Daphne is handing her [custody of child] papers-- after all, she’s neither an orphan nor is her mom dead(note: she has no father. snow fae can “give birth” all on their own, but it takes a long LONG time unlike with normal consummation and pregnancy). 

Twisted Wonderland OC

Name: Daphne Nerine

Meaning: Daphne means ‘laurel tree’ which is derived from the myth of Daphne and Apollo, Nerine is a subspecies of the amaryllis which in the language of flowers symbolizes ‘determination, beauty and pride’ (also, the first picture of the nerine that came up when I searched it was purple.)

Species: Human (?)

Age: 18

Appearance: Light peach-toned skin, wavy brown hair magically coloured purple, violet eyes, 5’7’ and slightly curvy. She also wears makeup which also includes matte berry pink lipstick, black eyeliner and mascara, with neon green eyeshadow once she joins Diasomnia and of course, a modified Diasomnia girls’ uniform.

Year: 2nd(She’s put a year behind where she normally would be, so she can catch up on the basics.)

Dorm: Diasomnia

History: Daphne’s magic manifested when she was a young child, and found it to be largely uncontrollable whenever she experienced strong emotions. This resulted in a number of ‘unexplainable’ accidents that she had no way to reverse on her own, that would have been no trouble to correct had she not grown up in a world almost entirely without magic. Because of her magical accidents, she was forced to move multiple times while she was growing up which caused her parents to grow cold and strict towards her because of their fear and hatred of her powers. This has resulted in her isolating herself which generates constant rumours, and by the time she passes through the Mirror of Darkness, Daphne has become a polite but distant figure that had resigned herself to a life without love or friendship out of fear she might accidentally hurt someone again. So, ironically, Night Raven College has become her beacon of hope – not only to gain the power and control to fix her mistakes, but also to fulfill her longings for companionship and acceptance that she holds deep in her heart.

Personality: Daphne by nature is a very social person, but her accidents over the years have caused her to isolate herself from everyone and anyone she came across, physically and emotionally. She craves companionship and a sense of belonging more than anything else, so it’s been really hard for her to constantly move and not make any lasting relationships, and her parents certainly haven’t helped that. Because of the loneliness she endured before passing through the mirror and her natural compassion and surprizing emotional resilience, she’s the type to be the first to sit with someone who is eating by themselves or strike up a conversation with someone about their interests even if she knows nothing about the subject. (If they look open to talking, that is, and look like they could use a friend.) Daphne doesn’t want others to feel lonely like she did, which is why she gets pissed off when Malleus (or anyone) gets deliberately excluded from things.

Though, for all her amiability and willingness to be helpful and like, some might get it into their heads otherwise, but she is not a pushover. She has clear boundaries that she will absolutely not compromise (the same can be said for her values.) Daphne knows her limits and will not do absolutely anything for the sake of being liked. In fact, just like people being excluded makes her angry, people being bullied or coerced into things incenses her too. This might be something she butts heads with Azul over especially. Or would if it wasn’t written into her contract for her to not negatively interfere with his other contracts. (This surprisingly leaves room for loopholes and damn it if she doesn’t take advantage. This has awoken the schemer in her that never knew she had before. Funnily enough it’s Malleus that she ropes into her plans the most, because she ‘might as well be open with him about what she’s doing, so her actions don’t come back to [potentially] bite the entire dorm in the ass.’)

In any case, she is likeable, but not because she’s charming because of honeyed words or a silver tongue, but because she is earnest and (generally) doesn’t hide what she thinks of people. And while she is afraid of rejection at any level, she doesn’t let it stop her from giving affection or show her vulnerability when it matters most, or when she knows that only she can move things forward by taking the first step. Also, Daphne is extremely loyal and would die for those she cares for; and in the right circumstances, she might even kill for them. This is a huge deal since she will do all she can to avoid bloodshed and take the peaceful approach, and when it comes to a fight always does so non-lethally. But if she loves you, and there’s no other way to save you from death, it is a line she would cross. Another thing to know that because of her isolation it is very hard for her to accept praise, compliments or gifts of any sort without at least being flustered or in flat out denial. Especially at first, because she believes she herself does not deserve them after all of the hurt she has caused.

Character Inspiration: The majority of her powers are based on that of the three “good” fairies from Sleeping Beauty (with things like minimization and flight with wings taken away since she’s not a full fairy), but other than that she’s her own person that happens to have unusually strong recessive fae blood for a human.

Powers: Enchantments (aka sleep curse, freezing [paralysis], Matter Manipulation – whether changing the colour of her hair to hypothetically turning someone to stone or a person into a frog), Conjuration, mild Telekinesis, Light Manipulation, Healing, Warding
