Like, Bruce is totally bi because he definitely has a thing for Catwoman but I also need some Riddler x Batman realness in my life. And there is simply nothing gayer than giving your assumed partner riddles through cards and then throwing a tantrum when he doesn't believe the two of you are working together. Edward Nashton is gay, except for all the x readers I've read. Those are in their own contained universe--- Heh

Also, although she isn't drawn here, I think Catwoman is lesbian literally cause of her thing with Annika. Like, that was more than just friendship guys- And also i think unrequited Bruce love for her is great because then it has angst and pushes him more toward the better of the two ships >:))))))

Why it makes no sense for Wellington Wells to be homophobic, an essay

So. Wellington Wells is 1964 Britain. Because of this, a lot of people might think, "oh, they must be homophobic then", and in most other cases, you'd probably be right. But not here.

First off, it's canonically confirmed that We Happy Few plays in a different timeline than us. Now, of course, that alone isn't solid evidence against homophobia in Wellington Wells, but it also leaves room for the possibility that this timeline just HAPPENS to be LGBT friendly.

But as previously stated, that alone isn't solid evidence. However. Joy is. Joy is all the evidence we need to prove that the lore of the game makes homophobia INCREDIBLY unlikely. Why? Because Joy makes you stupid. Now, I know this seems like a silly point at first, but hear me out.

Example A

Let's say you are a Wellie. Your neighbors, Ms. Whistler and Ms. Yarrow live together. They've been living together for as long as you can remember, which, admittedly, isn't very long. They hold hands, they kiss, they're happy together. They're happy. You're happy. Why would you pay any mind to them? As long as they're happy, what they're doing together isn't a problem, because they're happy.

Example B

You are a Wellie. Your neighbor, Mark Smith, suddenly introduces herself as Monica. She seems proper. She's clean, she wears a nice dress, she's smiling, she's on Joy. Why would you mind what she's doing? After two days, you'll forget the name Mark, you'll forget Monica was ever called Mark, and you'll only remember Monica, your friendly neighbor with the nice dress.

Example C

You're a Wastrel. Different scenario, eh? You live in the garden district, and you walk past a very openly gay couple. But why the fuck would you care? Why would you get your nose in someone's business in this hellhole? You have bigger worries. You don't have time to complain about men kissing, you need to find food and shelter for the day.

And this concludes my essay on why it makes no fucking sense for Wellington Wells to be homophobic. They're either too drugged up or too half-dead to care about who's kissing who.
