Spoilers for a 25 year old game that has a remake which may never be finished started under the cut. (It’s FF7 but I don’t wanna spoil it for the kids playing the remake.)

Listening to the FF7 Remake soundtrack (which is feckin’ awesome, god I love a good orchestral score) and remembered that Sephiroth was dead for the whole game and how that blew my mind to learn 20 years later. Never played the game but watched Graham of Loading Ready Run play it while I was incredibly sick for a few months. And man. Sephiroth was like this presence online since I started using the internet. You didn’t have to play the game to know who he was, you just knew. And I had definitely expected something else of him by the time I found out what the story was. It’s pretty cool to me that such an ominous character who did so much awful shit was basically a ghost, and when he was alive again you knew ending the world wouldn’t even be the worst thing he’d do. o_o
