One of my OG mutuals and dearest friends, Inky, is in need of a new computer so that they can apply for jobs, do schoolwork, and pursue their passion of writing stories about video game characters kissing.

Difficulty: after Covid swept through their house not once, but twice, there is now only one person left who earns income for the entire family. They do not have the extra funds to buy a machine powerful enough to do everything Inky needs to do on it. I truly don't want to make this post but I must.

my dad's desktop is now also giving up the ghost; his was the last true desktop in this house. All that is left besides our phones now are two chromebooks of varying age and function.

I was using dad's desktop to write my fics, game a little, and apply for jobs. (Basically everything I do on a daily basis.)

My pqypql. Anything y'all can give would be appreciated-- and just for goal visualization here is a laptop i was considering saving up for (since i could keep it unplugged during storms and hopefully avoid the semi-frequent power outages that killed my own desktop) before things went more awry.

Normally I don’t care, but if you’re going to say on the ref sheet that some aesthetic design decision is because of trauma, those of us who actually experience eye trauma are going to say something. These cute aesthetic decisions impact my real daily life, so yeah I’m going to bring it up. And I would have forgotten about it after that but here’s some able bodied or at least fully sighted person making up crap about eye trauma and then being salty when it gets noticed by someone who experiences this stuff. Not cool.
