My Cats Have This Meow That Means "please Come With Me To Fix This" After Which They'll Lead Me To The

My cats have this meow that means "please come with me to fix this" after which they'll lead me to the problem in question, usually a empty (or 'empty') food bowl or a closed door they want open. They look at the 'problem', they look back at me, clear message.

What fascinates me is how this illustrates what they percieve as being in the realm of my 'power.' I control the food, I control the door, sure, but my cats love to sit on the balcony in the sun, and it has happened plenty of times that on a rainy day they come get me, go to the balcony and show me... the rain. "Please fix this" they say. "Please get rid of the wet"

"Silly kitty," I say, "I can't control the rain." I then walk into the shower and turn on the rain.

One of my favorite flavors of batfam angst is when one of the batkids—competent, independent, would-fistfight-a-god-stubborn vigilantes—would look for or scream for Bruce (not Batman but Bruce, Dad) when faced with something that’s got them truly shaken and at the end of their rope. Like, these are the Bats. Everyone’s either afraid or in awe of them but at the end of the day they’re still Bruce’s children. And if they’re ever pushed to the very limit, past the fight and the grit and the bravery, they know that Dad can do something about it. Dad will know what to do. Dad can fix it for them.

(Here is the thing about fathers, however. Behind the cowl and the cape and the broad shoulders, he is still only a man.)

Diana of Themyscira (Wonder Woman) Reading List

image

Foreword: Molded from clay by her mother Queen Hippolyta and blessed by her patron gods of Olympus, Diana grew up on Themyscira, mentored by her Amazonian sisters. When Steve Trevor’s plane crash-landed on the island, ending the era of isolation from the patriarch’s world, the Amazons held a tournament that would produce a champion who would go back with Trevor and spread peace and hope to the outside world. Through the ages, Diana has served as a military secretary, a UN ambassador, a member on the Justice League, and most importantly, as Wonder Woman herself.

As always, the issues or runs that are strongly recommended are bolded and italicized.

Remember the 6 year old girl who was surrounded by Israeli tanks and the red crescent couldn't reach her? Her name is Hind Hamadeh. Here you can hear the phone call her 15 year old sister, Layan Hamadeh, made with the medics. She was killed exactly a moment later including all people in the car, except for 6 year old Hind who was stuck in the car with the dead bodies of her family, Israeli tanks and IDF surrounding her, shooting, preventing anybody to reach her.

That was last night (29.1.24). Today, still nothing. The fate of Hind remains unknown.

palestine red crescent ambulance team went to rescue her yesterday evening, but they have not returned as of now. We lost contact with them about 18 hours ago, and we still remain unaware of their fate and whether they succeeded in evacuating her or not.

Please, share Hind's story as much as you can on any platform. We need to know what happened to her. Put yourself in her place, how terrified she must be. Don't scroll past this.

This is Hind.
