@betraeyal Guess what I did? Yeah, I drew and used my water colour pencils to make your Frisk. I was going to make a little adjustment, but it looks better this way to me. I hope you like it. (And I forgot the halo…)

Silence

This is for @betraeyal beautiful AU called Undershade! I kinda wrote it non-stop after asking if I could do this. So here it is!

I also hope it isn’t too bad…

Frisk hated hearing the voices of the doctors. They wished they could turn it off so they didn’t have to get a constant reminder that their time could end with the monster in a split second. And it didn’t help with the fact the first time they heard the doctor’s voices was in front of Sans when they were at Grillby’s. The only good they got from listening to their home world was how long they have been in a coma for, in which it had been three months now.

‘Had it really been three months?’ Frisk asked themselves in their head as they were walking around Snowdin. Frisk couldn’t believe that time had flown by so quickly, and they were nowhere close to finding a way to save the monsters. They didn’t even have a lead to what they could use other than a human’s soul to stabilize the areas that are disappearing. They needed to focus, but then there was the Doctor’s voices in their head. It was driving them insane with the constant reminder that they are running out of time.

And it wasn’t long till another two voices was heard, between two nurses.

“Do you even think that they’ll… wake up?”

“Deb, trust me on this. I know they will, many others have woken up from comas like this.”

“But Ava, many have died too…”

By now Frisk was just stared at the ground, letting the tears roll down their face. They just couldn’t handle the voices anymore.

Frisk ran and never looked back. Frisk didn’t noticed that as they were running, they entered into the static area and they even forgot about them meeting up with Papyrus and Sans for movie night in the next half an hour.

Sans and Papyrus were waiting for Frisk to come over to their house for a sleepover because Frisk had to eat The Great Papyrus’ spaghetti. But it was long past the agreed time to meet. Frisk was about two hours late.

“SANS! WHERE IS THE HUMAN?” Papyrus asked loudly, trying to turn down the loudness of his voice, but ultimately failed. Sans shrugged, not using words because he thought about how Frisk acted before at Grillby’s. Like they heard something horrifying that it shook them to the core. Maybe he was reading into it too much.

“SANS?! ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME AT ALL?” Papyrus yelled in Sans face with a hint of concern in his eyes. “sorry bro, i thought you knew that i don’t have any ears to hear you.” Sans grinned when he heard his brother release an irritated sigh. Sans continued to watch Papyrus get up to the front door, before Papyrus placed his hand on the doorknob, Sans spoke up again, “but really, what did you say?”

“I AM GOING TO LOOK AROUND THE STATIC  AREAS AND SEE IF I CAN FIND THE HUMAN. I WON’T BE LONG.” Papyrus answered and walked out into the cold air. Not knowing what to do, Sans just laid down on the couch and started to take a nap. But the small little thought crossed his mind before he drifted off, 'did the kid hear something from their world?’

Looking off in a daze Frisk just listened to the voices that came and left, but there were two voice that made them cry instantly. It was their parents’ voices. But what hurt them more was that they could tell that they were crying. It was if they could feel the tears burning to their soul, even though nothing was happening.

Not knowing how much time had passed, they began hearing footsteps from behind them. Causing them to wipe their tears quickly, but knew it was too late when they heard, “WHAT IS WRONG? WHY ARE YOUR EYES LEAKING WATER?”

Looking to the side, Frisk mumbles just under their breath, sadness was clearly shown within their voice, “N-no reason…” Frisk knew it was a horrible excuse, but what’s the harm of trying to get out of a situation? “HUMAN! THAT WAS A HORRIBLE EXCUSE THAT EVEN IS WORSE THAN SANS’ PUNS! I WANT YOU TO BE HONEST AND TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG! AFTER ALL YOU ARE IN A STATIC AREA, YOU BARELY COME TO THESE PLACES!”

Turning their head slightly towards Papyrus, they just placed their hand in his. Hoping that Papyrus took it as a sign to continue, “HUMAN… YOU KNOW SANS AND I CARE ABOUT YOU VERY MUCH… AND I KNOW THAT IT IS SOMETIMES BETTER IF YOU JUST TELL SOMEONE-!” Frisk didn’t let him continue, clutching them tightly in a hug. Frisk just let out all their frustrations out in their tears. They just wanted to be able to be with their family and their new friends, not being so close to their deathbed or losing the world that they had made many friends.

“… I-I m-miss them…” Frisk mumbled through their sobs, in which made Papyrus hold them even closer into the hug. Getting an understanding why they were so upset. So he just let them cry into his chest, knowing that it was for the best.

It wasn’t long till Frisk fell asleep in Papyrus’ arms, being as gentle as he could be, he carried them to his home to rest. Leaving in complete silence. 

In Undershade, how do the color schemes/outfits work? Are the outfits different (Ex: Dancetale, Outertale)? Are color schemes based on the the soul color during their fight (Ex: Undyne=Green) or are they a color relating to the character (Sans=Shade of Blue, Papyrus=Orange)?

heh, honestly their outfits are just slight redesigns, not straying terribly far from their canon counterparts other than me adding some flair for personal asthetics. It’s only Frisk that’s super different, what with how humans appear in the Shade an’ all.

Originally I had planned on having a unified color scheme for everyone, which really would have been varying shades of purples, blues, and greys, but ultimately decided that it wouldn’t make any sense at all, as the only big change here is in the setting. There’s no real reason to stray too far from canon designs for this AU, as this is more story driven than design driven, unlike some of the more popular AUs out there ;;

But everyone’s color scheme is fairly close to how it is in UT :)

BUT YEAH Undershade sans! Very slight change to his design, and that’s in the form of the blue underneath his eyes :DD i might make the blue a bit more intense when i draw him again, but *finger guns*

Also I’m considering using this painting-ish style for the comics?? it’d mean the pages would take a little longer to complete, but????

anyway gtg back to work now, and won’t be able to leave until like 10:50 pm sob
