I was at the mall and saw this, and was immediately filled with the most visceral feeling of disgust. Almost wanted to say something to the shop owner but I don’t know what I could’ve said. It wasn’t the only bootleg there—there’s a set of bootleg Pokemon figurines next to it—but seeing something made by an indie creator get stolen and mangled like this is genuinely gross.

for those of you who’ve never seen this kind of thing before, for some reason in Slavic countries like Ukraine and Russia, they put on live shows for children featuring characters from popular media, whether or not that media was ever meant for children. the shows have nothing to do with the media, and from what i can tell don’t even have a plot. it’s just a money ploy by having as many recognizable characters as possible in one place dance together and kids eat it up. it’s also generally only the shows that have been picked up by youtube content farms that get this treatment, so the kids have no idea what the characters are originally from.
