and speaking of Alastair’s pov, I really hate that Matthew is the one to tell Thomas about the rumors. why is Lucie the pov???? this has nothing to do with her. AGAIN, another trope I can’t stand. let me be the pov for these characters even though it’s not my business.

I get why Matthew is upset but I have issues.

1. this should’ve been in Thomas’s pov. I would have loved to see and read how he felt about learning of the rumors that Alastair spread about him and his family. Thomas spent much time admiring and following Alastair around, as well as Alastair being the first man (I believe) he has feelings for. it would’ve been heartbreaking to read it in Thomas’s pov. especially knowing how much he adores Alastair so far. goes into my whole thing how more of thomastair should’ve been the focus of the series but whatever lmao

2. Alastair should have been the one to tell Thomas. just an idea I’ve recently had. I wish this was a moment where the two of them were alone and talking. then maybe Alastair confesses to Thomas.

ok maybe it’s a stupid idea but I think it would have been more interesting if that plot line was more personal. I think it would’ve shown growth on Alastair’s part if he came forward instead of being outed by Matthew out of anger and vexation at his part for that whole Cordelia and James mess. all these are all what ifs and how the series could have gone so it doesn’t even matter 🥲
