Just because I'm not sure I'm ever going to get around to writing fic about it, I'm going to be insane about Michael Thecoolperson for a second

ANYWAY while I think that Vyvyan's probably already had the majority of his big life meltdown by the time the series starts, and Rick and Neil probably are in the middle of theirs during, I don't think Mike has his until his mid to late 20s

Mike is a man who prides himself on connection. On being calm and collected and most importantly in control. Mike has had a vision for his life since he was tiny, and come hell or high water, he's going to be that person. And one day, he's going to wake up, and he's going to be 28 years old, and getting his daughter ready for school, and she's going to do something- cover up a bruise, say something particularly charming and quick witted- and it's going to remind him of himself at her age, and the imposter syndrome is going to hit him like a ton of bricks, and his entire world is gonna come crashing down around him.

When I was teaching at the university I was still on Facebook. so one day this typical FB quiz thing pops up on my dash, and it was What two Villains are you made of? I posted the link but with the comment that I had no need to take this test, I could already tell you which ones they were and posted these two:

Now things are fairly informal up here and since one of my students was also a research associate in a project that was going on at the time she was my friend on FB. This student/colleague of mine commented on this post saying: "Yeah, this has come up in class." To this day I hope it was my bleached blonde head scruff and handsome face that caused this discussion, rather than my villainous teaching habits 😝
