🧸 play-based therapy techniques🧸

if you are into shadow work or self help you can use play therapy to implement that into your age regression! I am not a licensed therapist, just a psych nerd, these are just some ideas ♥️

-play out an upcoming worry or stressful situation with your action figures/dolls/stuffies! 🧸

-make a dollhouse of an environment you would like to live in! 🏠

-create a positive story with your dolls/toys!

or write your story! 📝

-create a sensory bin to help regulate! 🌈

-create a puppet show about a stressful memory, but change the outcome 🧶

-create and decorate a happy memory box! 🎁

-make worry dolls! 🧵

(you tell your worry to the doll and put it under your pillow. this concept originates from Guatemala and has been used by modern child therapists)

-use art to depict your feelings, it could be abstract or even scribbles🎨

🩵Being your own caregiver🍓

Being your own caregiver is important. It’s not just prepping a time and space to regress. It’s also about treating yourself with kindness, respect, and understanding.

Even if you have a Caregiver, you still need to be able to treat your little self the way they deserve to be treated.

This could look like ~

🩵talking to yourself through big emotions

🍓making sure any little items are clean and ready for you when you’ll need them

🩵redoing your day plan to accommodate your little self and their needs

🍓giving yourself constant reassurance and affirmations

🩵checking in with yourself about your wants, needs, feelings, boundaries and to work with your little self on them
