Don't think of him as a one-dimensional fictional villain like the people around me - and even my 7yo brother.
Guys! I'm celebrating!! ๐คฃ

So my Dad was babysitting my cousin's daughter ( 7 yrs old btw.) And he watched WISH with her.
Obviously, I was waiting eagerly for her opinion. Mind you, the kid is one of the clever kind. Well, so I came home from work and I asked. "So, Dad, what did she say about Magnifico?" ๐
And Dad looks me dead in the eye and says "She says he's not evil. The book made him bad. Bad book. Magnifico is good."
So, again folks, again we have a CHILD seeing what some adults/teens refuse to see!!
(and no, I did shut my mouth on purpose! I did not influence any of them beforehand. Neither my Dad nor my cousin's daughter ever watched Wish. )
So please, tell me, if a CHILD, a seven year old child! - can clearly conclude that Magnifico isn't evil and that the evil in the book was at fault for making him go crazy, what makes ADULTS say otherwise? And leave the whole trauma aside that even underlines the whole truth about Magnifico.
And mind you, the kid was drawing Magnifico while saying this to my Dad ๐คฃ the first thing she did after the movie ended was draw Magnifico!!! Not Asha, not Amaya not the others, she drew Magnifico! I'm SO proud!
I now have my youngest member of the Magnifico-defenders โ๏ธ๐โจ๏ธ
This is great for so many reasons! When a child can see through such things at a young age, they will even more so as an adult. And this will lead to compassion and understanding for trauma conditions etc. And with more understanding and compassion, there will be more help!
By defending Magnifico and similar characters, and rising awareness through him, we are doing something very right! We are fighting and standing for people with trauma and similar conditions. We stand in love, compassion and comprehension!
Let's keep standing tall my fellow defenders ๐ซถ๐ผ

I JUST FOUND THE FUNNIEST THING IM CRYING
HOLD ON! Hold on! Look!
Okay so, this is how Magnifico entered Ashaโs house in the movie, right?

He looks intimidating, mysterious and majestic, we love to see it, slay king โจ

But then thereโs the Wish graphic novelโฆ

Some Amaya x Magnifico headcanon?
Hi anon :D
Thanks for asking..

*clears throat*
Well, to be honest, I don't really see these two as a real couple, the tension between them is a bit cold and I don't see strong interest, but I have some headcanons, They're not that perfect but here we go:
Amaya is always more calm and cool and collected than Magnifico, while Magnifico acts more like a child and jokes and moves around a lot. (Although this one was also clear in the movie)
Magnifico always wants Amaya's attention, wants her approval of what he did and what he would do.. and Amaya do so.
whenever magnifico is stressed or upset and whiny, Amaya hugs him and kisses him and caresses his head.
Magnifico had taught Amaya simple and beginner spells that would come in handy in times of need, athough Amaya doesn't use them (almost) because she wants Magnifico to feel like he can only do magic here and also Amaya likes to do things with her own hands rather than magic.
Amaya was the one who could tame Magnifico. His most trusted advisor. The one who could see past his magic and see a man.
The two of them have affection and sweet love towards each other, but not a lovey-dovey one, like talking sweetly, holding hands, putting head on shoulder, kiss on cheek, forehead and hand (sometimes lips but rarely)
Magnifico usually presents Amaya with loving letters in his charming handwriting - which he writes with his own hand and without magic - and roses.
The two drink afternoon tea And they eat cookies (especially walnut cookies that Magnifico likes so much) in the rose garden under the gazebo and talk.
And also Amaya likes cinnamon tea, Magnifico likes green tea more.
Magnifico has nightmares most nights, the nightmare of when he was a child and everything burned in fire, and he wakes up with a gasp, Amaya, knowing this, hugs him and rubs his back to give him some comfort, she even lets him cry on her shoulder.
Amaya was not lucky to have a child (for some reasons) , although Magnifico is afraid to accept such a responsibility even if there was a chance and it's because of his trauma that he is afraid of losing everything he loves again.
Magnifico was 21 and Amaya was 16 when they met each other by accident.
Amaya lived in the village, although no one knows her past and family, one day she was in the marketplace that the young Magnifico, who came to prepare materials and tools for his study, caught her attention. She couldn't take her eyes off him and resist. Amaya fell in love, while Magnifico was busy studying and didn't notice her, until Amaya decided to approach him and get his attention.
Magnifico noticed her attention and affection, and because he felt alone, he eventually accepts this love and three years later their marriage becomes official for everyone, while Amaya got married for love and Magnifico to not feel alone and to have someone to talk to.
However, none of them got what they really wanted in the end.
Even with the love and time they spent together, they still don't trust each other completely and haven't told their deepest secrets to each other, especially Amaya.
I have many other things in mind, but I think it's enough.. However, they are not that new.
I am going to include the rest of them in my story.

Just a little star.
Little Nova from my story
Hi. So Iโve been enjoying your blog for a few days now and I just want to say โthank youโ for giving King Magnifico fans the safe space they deserve. Thank you for giving King Magnifico the safe space he deserves.
I tried to find other blogs that defend him the way you do but I couldnโt. I agree with you 100% on Magnifico and honestly think he was the only good part of the movie.
Youโve inspired me to create an OC of my own to ship with him. Iโm remaining anonymous and donโt want to tell you about them because I donโt want to offend you, due to your faith. But I will dedicate the OC side blog to you once itโs open.
Without you, I wouldโve felt like a silly 37 yr old caring so much about a Disney character. Especially while Iโm going through a hard time. Now I will preserve my endangered mental health by spending time on developing my character and my Magnifico fan blog.
Please keep it up. Youโve given me a Magnifico safe space and have inspired others to celebrate their love of this character.
Oh my goodness!!! *emotional noises*

I'm so immensly moved I'm struggling to find the right words. Thank you doesn't even feel enough! I feel beyond happy and honored that I've managed to help, inspire, motivate and comfort people. That's what I want to do and if I manage to, it fills my heart with so much gratitude and joy!
But really, without you guys, I wouldn't be standing where I'm standing with my blog at this point.
I loved Magnifico from the moment I first saw him on screen and as soon as I understood enough of his story, it was more than clear to me, that I had to not only create a safe space for fans who - just like me - realized that he isn't a villain but also a place where I can fight against the very toxic stance against traumatized people and mental disorders.

And no! Never feel bad or silly for loving something because of your age! Age doesn't matter. I'm in my late 20s and one of my friends is already 30 so ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ Who's to tell us we cannot love certain things anymore just because we aren't kids/teenagers anymore? People who spread such information aren't better than all those other bullies and they're obviously wrong. You can be a 100 years old and still love plushies and dolls, or Legos, or disney - it's not just for kids!
Also, while I'm more than pleased to see that more and more people start siding with Magnifico and becoming vocal that he's not a villain but a traumatized protagonist, I'm also greatly concerned by people still shaming, ridiculing, belittling and villainizing trauma.
The fact that Disney itself has pushed those toxic stigmas is beyond me! Just like one of my greatest fellow defenders stated : When did bullying a traumatized person into uncontrollable rage become acceptable? When did it become acceptable to villainize traumatized people? Since when does the message "true love breaks every curse" matter no more?
When did people lose so much compassion and became ok with pushing hate and unforgiveness?
Standing up for trauma and defending those people is not justifying wrong actions! It's calling awareness! Compassion and love! It's explaining and drawing a big difference!
There are so many toxic statements I hear people make toward traumatized people and people with mental disorders. And I think it's one of the cruelest, most disgusting and heartless things!
Magnifico has become a symbol for so many and a beacon to rise awareness to trauma and the toxic stance of disney and some people out there.
Btw, Japan has even created a hashtag that celebrates Magnifico. The japanese have been stressing from the start that Magnifico isn't a villain. The japanese amazing! โจ๏ธ

So, I thank you for being a part of this incredible supportive, growing defender squad! I'll keep doing my best to fight for what's right and keep this blog growing โจ๏ธ
I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart! โค๏ธ And again, thank you so very much!
