I’m reading Taggerung right now, so expect my animals to get very wholesome and Redwall-y.

I'm re-reading Mossflower now. And I feel like talking about the characters and sketching them. But I'm not sure if it's worth spending time on. This fandom looks pretty dead to me. But I still love my crazy dangerous mice!

Matthias calls Warbeak a hussy which lmao I guess that has less of a (!) connotation over there than it does over here.

apparently the general concensus is that it's the best book in the series.

I do wish some of the ideas and viciousness had carried over and agree there's a lot of pointless subplots in later books but I don't know if I agree with that.

the parodies to old-school christianity was definitely something that we did better without although the idea of a fake animal religion would be an amazing point (and is apparently slightly touched upon in Taggerung, which I remember being top 5)

why did we never see Noonvale again

it's so funny how Cluny killed one of his subordinates with his poisoned tail in seconds yet he whipped an old man with it and it took him about 30 minutes to die

but I guess that was because he needed the time to tell the 13 year old protagonist to defend the abbey and marry the other 13 year old.

bc apparently Matthias and Cornflower are supposed to be around 13 like lmao WHAT c'mon I didn't think that even as a child reading these they could be 20 at least. that's still young.
