ok but…adrien literally bouncing off the walls with joy….marinette accepting chat and adrien were one in the same and loving him tenfold…the soft looks ladybug gave chat during the post-reveal battles…adrien freely expressing himself and letting that chat noir swagger out…the blushing…adrien calling marinette “m’lady”…..the notes….late night phone calls…the purest love ever…….

Wait what if the discourse about certain actions was about Marinette not immediately accepting Adrien ad Chat Noir? It took her longer to come around cause you know love square is always a hot topic

Of course it's going to be harder for Marinette? As much as she tries her best to keep Ladybug and her civilian life separated, it's very easy on Adrien’s end to immediately connect the two of them, but Marinette has never been given a chance to even consider that Adrien and Chat are the same people.

She does have a bit of a blind spot with Adrien yes, but at the same time Adrien himself has admitted to not completely being true to himself all times, whether it is as Chat or his civilian self, thanks to years of abuse and neglect. Of course in Marinette's point of view, it's going to be confusing, especially since her heart is full of love for them both in very different ways. But you know what she did, even in all the anxiety? She took a step back and let herself observe and completely come to terms with not "Adrien is like Chat Noir" and not "Chat Noir is like Adrien" but the fact that they're both him, and who he really is is somewhere in the middle. I love that she waited until she was absolutely sure she was ready, for both their sakes.

If anything the discourse probably has to do with what Su Han demanded of Marinette, Marinette trying to erase her knowledge of Chat's identity like that (I know she didn't have bad intentions but it WAS a mistake on her part), Luka just straight up not saying anything about what he knows at all, and....Sentiadrien. which I wish I could stop mentioning.

You know, I really love how together Chat Blanc and Ephemeral show the how Marinette and Adrien compliment each other.

Like, we know that Adrien is the heart of the duo. Not to say that he doesn’t use his mind, but he makes decisions using his heart. That’s why he was able to reconcile the reveal right away in Chat Blanc. But at the same time, he didn’t think it all the way through, and it had some consequences.

And Marinette is the brain of the operation. Once again, not that she doesn’t have a lot of love to give, but what her heart says often gets overshadowed by her complicated logic. That’s why it took her a little more time to realize that yes, she loves this boy with all her heart for all that he is.

I think once we have a simultaneous, mutual reveal (and have the heart and the mind working together during the fallout), that’s when they’ll get to know forever. That’s when it will stick. They need each other the whole way.

Both sides have their downfalls. Both sides have their strengths. Honestly, it’s truly beautiful. This is why I fell in love with the lovesquare. This is why I’m here.

i’m thinking about that scene near the beginning of into the spider-verse where mary jane is delivering her eulogy for spider-man to an assembled crowd and some people are wearing his mask / costume, including miles, and the camera pans over their faces with miles in centre frame while MJ says, “we all have powers of one kind or another. but in our own way, we are all spider-man,” and then the camera focuses in on miles and she says, “and we’re all counting on you.” and it’s just *chef’s kiss* bc the storytelling! the cinematography! the symbolism! single-handedly revived the medium of animation

I REALLY love how Luka's wisdom opened Marinette's eyes to a new perspective in Ephemeral.

At first she was like-

And then she asks herself the IMPORTANT question.

Even though she keeps SEEING Chat Noir in Adrien, she STILL feels conflicted and very much in denial, me thinks. That's why she looks so troubled.

And then Luka gives her this wonderful statement:

And it allowed her to see the whole picture.

In comparison to Adrien, Marinette was the one that needed adjustment first, and more than Adrien too. This has more emotional impact. It was all about learning how to see the full essence of a person even though it could be a bit jarring and uncomfortable at first. This only deepened her feelings into something brand new and thats why she was no longer hesitant to reveal herself anymore. Even knowing how dangerous it could be if he knew her identity, it moved her to be more vulnerable and transparent with him. Love makes you do that. That's also why Adrien ALWAYS wanted to reveal himself to Ladybug too. Keeping secrets and lying to the one you care about the most is always never the best feeling.

It's just really unfortunate that they were also born with a unique destiny to save lives and dedicate themselves to something bigger than both of them. But ultimately, it's their bond, their connection and their love that keeps them going, despite the challenges they face..
