Day 17! TMF AUs!

Day 17! TMF AU’s!

These are some pretty standard AU’s I came up with. (Like VERY basic. Everyone probably has their own version of these.) I would write these but unfortunately I already have three other writing projects on my hands and I really don’t know how I’d balance a fourth. (Also, in case you haven’t guessed it yet: they’re all pretty heavily Drake-coded lmao.)

💙Royal Knight AU: A classic I’ve seen many times before! Nothing like taking your favorite blorbos and forcing them back in time to the age of castles and monarchies! Anyways, in my version, Drew’s a prince and Jake’s his personal knight. (Clever, I know.)

Jake was practically raised to be a knight, just like his parents were. But Jake wants to find his own purpose; something that doesn’t bind him to being Drew’s shadow.

He starts sneaking out at night, and realizes the massive wealth-gap between the nobles and common-people. While on his adventures, he runs into a group of bards who perform at night to inspire hope in the townspeople. (The Music Club!)

Under the disguise of a simple commoner, Jake decides to talk to them. He gets to know them, and eventually, the leader of the group: Hailey, invites him to join their group. Each night, Jake gets to perform with them, finally feeling like he’s found his purpose.

(Oh, and him and Hailey obviously start developing feelings for one another.)

Meanwhile, Drew is stressed. He’s being forced to marry Lady Zoey, who makes it abundantly clear she has no interest in him whatsoever and is only in this for the wealth and status. And after the wedding, Drew will be crowned king. And he is not at all ready for any of this. He’s always turned to Jake for comfort, but he slowly starts realizing that Jake is hiding something. Jake’s increasingly exhausted, and almost always distracted. He barely talks to him anymore.

Perhaps there could be a scene where Drew follows Jake? He realizes what he’s been doing, and I’d imagine quite a bit of angst would ensue.

Oh, and one more note: remember the wealth gap? I could totally imagine the Music Club is actually part of a secret rebellion against the royal family. And perhaps they’re coming up with a plan to overthrow the royal family.

Now, scenario: masquerade ball. Hailey’s sent to sneak inside the palace during the festivities and see what she can learn about the royal family. Perhaps steal some riches for the Music Club to sell. She successfully enters the palace, but ends up running into Jake. The two recognize each other almost immediately, and end up dancing together to keep up appearances, all while whispering hushed questions about why the other’s there. Meanwhile, Drew notices this, and is practically seething with jealousy.

I don’t really know where the plot of this would go, but surprisingly for me, I feel like endgame ship would be Jailey.

💛Idol AU: Another classic! Jake’s a pop idol, and Drew’s his bodyguard. (Practically a reverse of the first AU.) They’re obviously very much in love, but they have to keep it secret due to Jake’s contract. And they kiss backstage in storage closets sometimes.

I don’t have much for this AU compared to the last one, but I’ve always imagined Jake being kidnapped and Drew having to rescue him. I think that’d be pretty fun. Maybe they have to go off-the-grid for a while, and they’re actually able to have their little relationship for a period.

I just want to see Drew and Jake kiss honestly. Drew needs to be kissed very softly on the head.

🖤Ghost AU: Last one! I actually brainstormed this with @ratkingnezu awhile back. Essentially, after the events of Episode 11. Drew dies. (Doesn’t really matter how he does, he just needs to be gone.) But because of his lingering regrets, he isn’t able to leave the mortal world just yet. So he’s stuck as a ghost, and he’s unable to leave Rosemeadow. Meanwhile, Jake is deeply affected by this. He regrets never being able to explain things properly to Drew and perhaps make peace with him, so he spirals. Grief practically consumes him, so Drew decides to make it worse and start haunting him. (Well, he’s not trying to make it worse. He just has nothing better to do with his time other than haunt Jake.) He realizes how much Jake actually cared about him. And he only regrets how their last interaction (the fight) played out. And sometimes he’ll just lay with Jake and cry with him wishing he could talk to him one last time.

And Jake starts hearing Drew’s voice whispering to him. Starts seeing things move. Starts seeing him in reflections. And he starts thinking he’s losing his mind.

The only way Drew can finally pass on is by somehow making peace with Jake. I don’t know how he’ll do that, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out. At some point.

So yeah! Those are my super simple AU’s!

Well, actually, I do have one more, but I’ll save that for its own post sometime in the future. (Wink wink.)

Also with all the Episode hype I nearly forgot about-Day 24! Thoughts on Jaisy!

Okay, I don’t talk about these two often, but I adore Jaisy! It’s such a wholesome ship, and I so badly want these two canon in the show. They’re so fucking cute.

Like, the way Daisy’s always there to support him, even all the way back in Middle School? The way she stays by his side when no one else does and helps him back to his feet and SACRIFICES HER HEAD GIRL POSITION FOR HIM???

“Erm, but Daisy doesn’t like him back-” OBJECTION! I am delusional. And in my delusions, she does like him back. She’s just very good at hiding it. Eventually, they’ll come together, fall in love and walk down the hallways holding hands and-

Anyways yeah I like them lol.

Day 22! Thoughts on Jailey!

Honestly, I think @ratkingnezu put it best: “It’s like choosing vanilla in an ice cream parlor.” It’s a cute and wholesome ship, but it’s very standard and predictable. It’s incredibly obvious these two are going to be canon by the end of the show and somehow that sorta takes the fun out of it for me. (Yet Lander’s already canon and that’s one of my OTP’s so don’t ask me how my brain works I couldn’t tell you.)

I understand why a lot of people ship it though. It’s very well-developed and they have some of the cutest moments together. (And Jake’s little “If you can’t look at the crowd, look at me, okay?” With Hailey nodding and trusting him had me giggling and kicking my feet.) But I don’t know. I never find myself daydreaming about these two. I just don’t really think they’re for me.

Day 13! Jomies Headcanons! (I got quite a few!)

Jake:

💛Unironically listens to boy bands.

💛Has Spotify open 24/7. Is always looking for new artists and songs, and probably has over 3000 songs liked.

💛He’ll listen to any song of any genre, but tends to lean more towards alt-rock.

💛Used to listen to Billie Eilish in Middle School.

💛Whenever it’s too quiet, he’ll either hum to himself or make random noises with his mouth.

💛Physically incapable of standing still.

💛Probably ate an eraser as a kid.

💛Does not believe in closets. Keeps his clothes either on the floor or in his chair. (If it’s in his closet he’ll genuinely forget he even owns the item.)

💛”Processing your emotions? What the hell’s that?”

💛Oh yeah, he definitely has ADHD.

Drew:

🖤Really likes FPS games.

🖤Always has to have his weight shifted on one leg. He cannot stand up straight to save his life. (Heh cuz he’s gay-)

🖤Small waist. (He’s a twink in my eyes.)

🖤Could probably be picked up by the other Jomies. (Has yet to be tested due to safety concerns.) (The concerns being Drew beating the shit out of them.

🖤Doesn’t like black coffee but drinks it anyways. (Why? We don’t know.)

🖤TERRIBLE eating habits. He’ll literally just have a piece of toast and be like “welp that’ll last me for the next 48 hours.”

🖤Those hot-pink girly desserts are his guilty pleasure.

🖤Listens to a lot of rap music. Mostly emo rap. He says it’s cuz it sounds cooler but it’s actually because he finds the lyrics relatable.

🖤Stalks Jake’s instagram for purely platonic reasons.

🖤Doesn’t know how to show affection so he’ll sometimes just randomly punch Jake in the arm. No warning, no explanation.

❤️Had a super edgy werewolf OC back in Middle School. Drawings of it still exist in that same drawer.

❤️Lets Henry play with his hair when they’re alone together.

❤️Refuses to use chairs properly.

❤️Has so many 0.5 photos of the Jomies. (Except Drew because Drew threatened to break his phone if he ever took one of him. But Liam still managed to sneak a few bad photos of Drew as well.)

❤️Type of guy to moan when someone’s on the phone with their parent.

❤️Knows how to drive a manual. (I imagine his mom’s car is an older one soooooo if Liam wanted to drive around he had to learn.)

Henry:

💚Baby face. (Liam likes to hold his face.)

💚Wears anime merch with pride.

💚Pretends to be a girl online sometimes so people give him free shit.

💚Almost always hits Drew with the 🤓 emoji anytime he says something smart/logical in their group chat.

💚Would definitely like matcha because it tastes like g r a s s.

💚He ate grass as a kid. And leaves. And dirt.

💚The type of kid that always had to be the dog in any game he played.

💚Really likes bunnies. He held one once and felt his life was complete.

💚Oh, and frogs too. He loves frogs.

💚Typically takes the role of mediator during fights, even if he has no context on the situation.

💚Relies way too much on being funny. If a joke doesn’t land he genuinely hates himself for a couple seconds.

💚Sensitive to loud noise. (Unless the loud noise is on his terms.) (Like, he’ll have his music on full blast and shout at his friends standing right next to him and be completely fine, but if a balloon were to suddenly pop right beside him, it’d startle him quite a bit.)

💚Drew glaring at him and telling him to shut up hurts a little more than he’d like to admit.

💚Probably also has ADHD.

Zoey:

🩷This bitch knows how to steal shit. You got a necklace she likes she will find a way to take it.

🩷Can and will find a way to make everything said against her about her gender.

🩷“Oh my God, I am LITERALLY just a girl.”

🩷Definitely took dance for a P.E credit.

🩷Almost everything she owns is covered in flowers.

🩷Everything has to be aesthetic.

🩷Always had to initiate any sort of affection between her and Drew. She was always the one asking him out. Always the one to kiss him first, or reach for his hand. (Whereas Drew never really thought about that sort of stuff.)

🩷Her views on relationships were also very different from Drew’s. She wanted excitement and fun. She wanted to go out and do things. And whenever they were home alone, she wanted to make out with him and stuff, meanwhile, all Drew wanted to do was cuddle and watch stupid videos on his phone with her. (But she just found that boring.)

🩷Honestly, their best dates were their at-home ones. Where they’d watch movies together and Zoey would bring some face masks and they’d pamper each other and cuddle and whatnot. (Fun for Zoey and relaxing for Drew.)

🩷And because of their height difference, Zoey would sometimes grab Drew’s collar and pull him down to her level to kiss him. (And this definitely never once flustered Drew.)

🩷Probably knew Drew cared more about Jake than he did her and that pissed her off.

Lia:

💜Big fan of Olivia Rodrigo. (And one time, while her and Drew were waiting for the others after school, she was listening to one of her songs and singing along, and Drew ended up correcting her on a lyric, causing her to realize he ALSO listens to her music, and he was super embarrassed about it afterwards and made her promise not to tell anyone.)

💜So anyways Lia now wants to take Drew to an Olivia Rodrigo concert.

💜She’s also a big fan of Nessa Barrett.

💜Surprisingly really good at singing. She never took lessons or anything, she just sings in the shower a lot.

💜Sprays perfume on herself like 50 times in a day.

💜Always comparing herself to people online.

💜“Self-esteem? What’s that?”

💜Genuinely could not describe herself if she was asked to. She’s so used to changing herself for others she doesn’t even know who she is or what she wants to be.

💜Imposter Syndrome 100%

💜Had a huge crush on Hailey in Middle School but didn’t even know being gay was a thing so she didn’t really know how to explain her feelings at all.

YES OKAY PEOPLE SHOWED INTEREST IN MY ELM IDEA LETS GO I’M NOT GOING CRAZY! (I mean I am but-)

Anyways Elm! Elliot and Dominic! We’re all familiar with these goobs! We love them! Time for my very- ahem, well-thought out explanation for this ship!

…Okay so I don’t actually have one. I have zero evidence for this beyond just me looking at Dom and being like “…Well that’s a little fruity.”

I mean-

I mean…

He’s a lil 💅 you know? Just a lil bit. Like those looks aren’t hetero. Those are homo eyes. 👀

I think the real reason I ship these two is because I like unrequited romance and Drew died in the new episode so I had to push that dynamic on someone else and-

And I like Dom! I like Dom a lot! You know what I do with characters I like? That’s right! I put them in a blender and crumble them up into pieces. (I am normal human I do not need to touch grass I promise.)

And I also really like the trope of ‘shy character who’s really insecure is a lot more charismatic and charming than they realize, thus leading to several characters falling head-over-heels for them’ because it kinda takes their insecurities and reverses them, showing that you can think of yourself one way but there will always be people out there who absolutely adore you, and want to stay by your side. And I mean Elliot already has Milly head-over-heels for him, and he also somehow manages to fluster Bradley every other interaction so we can say Brad’s somewhat a simp? Just throw Dom onto the pile and now you got yourself three Elliot simps!✨

Also, I think Elliot and Dom would have a really cute dynamic, with Dominic being all silly and impulsive and Elliot keeping him grounded. (Opposites attract my beloved.) And I think it’d be so cute to see Dom actually develop feelings and suddenly go from this charming little stinker to just an absolute awkward loser. Like laughing way too much and never knowing what to say. Sort of like Milly, but instead of going quiet he tries to say eighty things all at once and accidentally gets himself in a nervous laughing fit. Meanwhile Elliot’s oblivious and very clearly pining for Milly, so Dominic knows from the start he doesn’t have a chance with him, but it still hurts sometimes whenever Milly comes to the garden and Elliot practically gets hearts in his eyes as he shows Milly around. And he knows he should be happy for Elliot. He is happy for Elliot. But a part of him wishes Elliot could’ve found those feelings of love with him instead. And as a way to cope, he teases them. He pretends he doesn’t have a crush on Elliot and pretends to be just as supportive as the rest. Teasing them and telling them to get a room whenever they talk to each other. (Maybe he just doesn’t want to see how close they are.) He’s already accepted Milly and Elliot are going to get together, and all he can do is watch from the sidelines hoping his own feelings will simply fade with time.

Oh, and uh… I may or may not have already started a one-shot for this very idea. Might post it, might not. Who knows?

TDLR: I like Elliot but I like Dom more so I’m gonna give Dom an unrequited crush on Elliot.
