Nate started speed skating competitively again to find cold weather a lot less agonizing, after Neo-Plasma's attacks on Opelucid and Ghetsis' attempts on his life. He figured the best way to deal with the sudden intrusive memories of that part of his life that happen sometimes was to try not to let it ruin something he already loved before the incident.

That said, unexpected snowstorms still bring those memories back, and he avoids the Giant Chasm as much as he can. He's trying to recover from the lingering trauma, and he thinks speed skating might help with that.

Rejoice, full body be upon ye!

Making some edits to Nate's bio c:<

I wanna headcanon Nate as being famous for something other than battling. His competitive nature makes me think he might be an athlete of sorts, but I'm not sure which sport he'd be good at.

I'm most familiar with Hockey, American Football and a little bit of Basketball, if we're not counting Olympic sports. If I were to go for either Hockey or Football, I'd have to headcanon him as having some muscle, which I'm honestly not against. I established his height as "pretty damn short" yesterday, so Basketball is not an option.

I guess I'll leave it up to democracy:

He hadn't meant for Empoleon to wander off - let alone for it to have found someone of interest. It always liked to look for strong trainers, Miles muses. Always bowing before anyone it wanted to battle, just like now, it seemed.

Marlon looked over the Empoleon. Well, since he was asking so politely, he could at least entertain an unofficial battle.

"I suppose I could get a head start. Though you might want to take a few steps away. Imagine getting such a nice suit absolutely drenched!" He smirked.

Marlon and Lana are cousins, and they keep in touch often. Sometimes it's a quick text convo, sometimes Marlon takes time off from work to visit Alola.

That said, they're not immune to getting into arguments. Some of them can even get pretty heated, but they make up fairly easily, as they're both rather easygoing people.
