Logan And Christopher Parallel
Logan and Christopher parallel
They are pretty different persons. But the main parallel i see is this one:
Logan is the man who always will be in love with Rory, who knows she is IT for him, who is ready to be there for her if she lets him, who supports her in everything, who is the father of her child and wants to be there for the kid, and he desperately wants to be chosen and loved by Rory. BUT Rory doesn't choose him and love him in a way he needs her to. He wants to do everything for her but she doesn't allow to be 100% for her or her kid. And that's where I see those main parallels. Cause Chris the same actually loves Lorelei and she is IT for him, but she never wanted him in the same as he wanted her.
So at the end of a day, all comes to the choice.
I think its the main thing we should think of when we hear Logan is Rorys Christopher. Because Lorelei wanted to choose Chris, but somehow she couldn't, and Rory is in the same scenario: she wants to choose Logan, but somehow can't.
Rory will choose herself with a child, not letting anyone else to step inside of that relationship. And sure she will bond with Jess again as he will be more often in her orbit since Luke and Lorelei are married and his mother lives in Stars Hollow and Rorys book is coming. So again Rory will have these 2 men in her life, but will bond more with Jess due to their alike minds and similar nature.
I feel its the message the writers wanted us to get.
Do I like it or agree with it? Quite no. It makes me deeply sad. But It seems like it's the writers' idea and vision of characters they created, so in a way I should respect such take. In a way it feels also right for the characters, tbh.
But it still makes me sad. Cause it doesn't mean it should go that way. There's always room for dynamic and change. Nothing is finale while you are alive. I wish writers would give Rory and Logan some chance in the revival...

If you had to choose: Barchie or Rory/Logan?!
Oh that's not even a competition, Rogan! I love Barchie but I didn't even finish watching their show, lol. I've only seen clips of when they're together. Barchie is also like the fulfillment of a childhood ship from the comics.
Rogan do have the advantage in that as many problems as I have with Gilmore Girls, it's a much better show than Riverdale. But as much as I love childhood friends to lovers, there's something about someone coming into your life and changing the way you interact with the world. Logan and Rory do start as friends. They have fun together as friends too. They were pretty clearly interested in each other romantically but I think it's important to remember that Logan felt that Rory's friendship was so important to him he didn't want to alter it because he didn't want it to be like all the other girls he was with before her. Logan gets Rory out of her comfort zone but Rory did the same for Logan.
I think Logan helped a lot with Rory's confidence and her going out to get things she wants when he asked her to jump with him. Before him Lorelai almost always had to talk Rory into doing new things: going to the Chilton dance, signing up for the Chilton speech, opening her door at Yale for the party. Logan asked Rory to jump with him and after that she started making bolder decisions on her own. Granted, they weren't always great decisions and she definitely crashed and burned sometimes, but I think he helped her grow so much as a person. Logan doesn't have as much screen time without Rory but we know he took big risks for her too. He'd never been in a serious relationship before but he wanted to try because he cared that much about her. Of course fails at times but you really know he's trying his best. Also I love that he tries so hard with Lorelai, that says so much about him to me.
Part of what I didn't like about the revival is that they removed that aspect of their relationship. They reduced it to just wacky adventures and illicit affairs. I do like that there was still the sense of friendship and support, but they stagnated the part where they stepped outside of their comfort zone for each other and helped each other grow.
