Give me Bernard stalking Red Robin the same way Tim stalked batman. Give me stalker Kon, who while stalking Tim when he's overwhelmed by the world, discovers Bernard and chooses to stalk him too- just to sus him out at first, but slowly it becomes an infatuation. He's listening to both their heartbeats at night.

Give me Bernard realising he's being followed because Kon isn't as subtle as he thinks. Bernard stalking SB back, creating a theory board dedicated just to him.

Give me Tim stalking SB when they're at the tower and he's bored. Tim stalking Bernard to make sure he gets home safe. Tim realising that he's not the only one keeping him safe when he spots a flash of red and blue and leather speed off and out of sight. Tim realising that Bernard has been stalking his hero persona, that he has several boards of photos and newspaper clippings about him and Kon, about the bats and the core four.

Give me Kon, who would die for either of them, put himself in the way of immense danger, become stupid and reckless in the name of protecting what he loves. Would sacrifice himself in every scenario to ensure Tim and Bernard are safe.

Give me Tim who would infiltrate the government for his boys, would do anything, hack anything to assure their safety. Would bug their house just to make sure nothing ever happened to them. Would go insane trying to bring them back if he ever failed.

Give me Bernard who would kill for them. Who would readily bloody his hands in the name of love if it ever came to it. Who would use everything he learned in that cult to ruins someone's life if they hurt what was his.

Give me timberkon who's love is so whole, so intense, that it cannot be contained by ethics nor morals.

I’m oh so very happy with how they’re portraying Tim here. I obviously can’t judge how he fully looks– because he’s sitting–

But I like how he’s just chewing gum, because even though it’s such a minor thing. I just like that it shows that he is just a kid still, because he’s still 16 (Remember he was deaged after the New 52, and was last seen as 16), and was made to be the more average boy of the Bat-Family, and I just enjoy it. Like he’s suppose to be a boyish person as far as mannerisms go, besides the obvious moments where he has to try and be extra serious.

Heck, they have him being both boyish and serious right there, because it is logical for him to be serious, I mean just think of the context. Bonus points honestly.

That super genius thing they been pushing for years has never felt like proper Tim, because even though he’s super clever and smart, he’s not a literal super genius. That’s always felt off to me, and pushed one of his traits way too far. Absolute flanderization. So they’ve never really gotten his vibes right as far as mannerisms in quite a while. Always too serious, and not boyish as it should. Even if he obviously can be very serious when needed or going into his Robin act a little more.

So even if it’s small, just the little things like that make me happy to see. It’s just fun and is a step towards Tim. I hope they keep it up, because seeing Timmy get even a smidge closer to back in form is super gratifying.

something that i really like about blue eye samurai, now that im thinking about it, is that it discusses violence against women without becoming torture porn. like, in a lot of media that portrays women's issues, they show you that scene. like they give you this extended visual of a woman experiencing something traumatic and then laud themselves as feminist for doing so.

blue eye samurai doesn't do that. the whole show is set in a world that is extremely antagonistic toward women, and it makes a point to tell you that being a woman right now sucks, because they are property and are used sexually. but even though it doesn't shy away from this, it doesn't show you the violence itself, which you would almost expect it to because of how graphic the rest of the show is.

im thinking specifically of kinuyo. they very well could have shown us a scene of her being abused, but they didn't. they didn't show the abuse itself, but they did show how it affected her. they showed her seeing a doctor for her sores. they could have made this incredibly traumatic and grotesque scene a spectacle, showing us exactly how powerless she is and how powerful he is. they could have shown us this incredibly triggering event in full detail for our entertainment, but they didn't. they chose not to. and i think that's how it should be.

it is not necessary to have an extended visual and auditory reenactment of violence against women. we the audience understood the gravity of the situation and were able to empathize without needing that scene. having that scene would have completely detracted from the point they are trying to make. it would have turned something completely reprehensible that women everywhere fear because it's a very real issue into entertainment.

okay so the batfamily right? But telenovela style! Like just envision this with me yeah?

All of their drama and baggage presented in a cheesy overdramatic-to-the-point-of-loopimg-back-around-to-comedy ongoing show. The mess of their civilian responsibilities clashing with their nighttime lifestyles.

The messy relationships! Big reveals where we find out the woman dating the father has also been seeing his ward/son. And then an even bigger twist when we find out she is actually a supervillain! Or when your ex girlfriend starts dating your adoptive sister!

A love triangle between a childhood best friend and your superhero teammate!! Who will the young man choose? The handsome seemingly safer civilian option- who actually becomes the centre of all strange supernatural encounters, or the cute bad boy with really really nice hair- a forbidden romance because our bachelor cannot reveal his civillain identity to him!!

The dramatic twist when one of the characters finds out his mother was not his real mother! And a another twist when we find out his real mother is actually a criminal, and another twist when she hands her son over to the big bad. But there's another twist! The big bad ties her up too! And an EVEN BIGGER twist! The big bad cannot be taken down because he is an ambassador now somehow!!???

Navigating life with a younger brother who replaced you in your vigilante gig! (This becomes a cycle with each new kid). Trying to navigate having new step-parent every few months because your adoptive father keeps switching them out for even more problematic people!

The classic cop/detective trope where the laws and rules get disobeyed in the name of protecting family and taking down international criminals!

Wind blowing dramatically through their hair as they have an intense argument on the rooftops of their city, with very dramatic Spanish music in the background. Maybe even a narrator guy lmao.

Come on this is perfect telenovela material! I so badly wanna see or read a version of the batfamily that is in this particular style. It'd just be so damn funny!
