Hi there! I adore your ocs and art and I have a little question about your process.

Is there like a 'pre-' canon version of Sasha and Satomi? A concept version?

Im at work at the moment so i have no photos to show, but Satomi and Sasha were originally gijinkas of Twilight Sparkle and King Sombra from My Little Pony 😭 I was a big Twibra fan in middle school and was also being bullied for being a pegasister as a 13 year old, so I converted them into ocs

As ocs, the major differences is that Satomi was originally Black American/Japanese and Sasha was originally Polish/Russian. They were also huge, Satomi was 5’9” and Sasha was 6’4”, and Sasha had very long hair.

I decided to change their race/ethnicities a bit since why not write a Native Hawaiian character from Hawaii rather than a non native character? With Sasha, I realized all of the history I was teaching myself was completely Eurocentric and that i wanted to expand my learning, so i decided whatever country came to my head first, i would learn about, and that country was Iran, thus Iranian Sasha was born, alongside my special interest in Iranian culture and history.

The most ‘modern’ versions of my ocs originate in 2018-19

I am Dr. Imtithal, living in the besieged northern Gaza Strip. For 11 months, we have lost our lives. We have lost everything. I have lost my brother, my home, our money, our source of livelihood, my profession as a dentist, and all our memories. Our lives have become difficult. We cannot obtain the necessities of life, such as water, food, medicine, and shelter. We live a difficult life in a school as a shelter for us after we lost our home. We cannot obtain a clean life and we suffer from the spread of diseases. Every so often we are displaced. We cannot settle in a place because of the intensity of the bombing. I hope you can help me so that I can protect my family, which consists of 35 people, most of whom are children...
