This has been such a weird thing for me to wrap my head around since joining Tumblr recently (compared to a lot of older fandom folk). I know every generation of teenagers goes through the "I'm too cool and/or disaffected to admit I like anything, everything sucks" phase. But the way people verbally shit all over the show/characters on here while still considering themselves fans...I think...?...pretty sure...?...yeah, it's a little perplexing. It honestly got my hackles right up to start with. Like, "Why do you watch it if you hate it/them so much?! You can admit something is flawed without talking about what an obscene dumpster fire it is all the time, can't you? And if you can't, why are you here?" I legit couldn't tell if they meant the insults sincerely. But I'm working on it. I still don't particularly like it, but I figure it's just one of those cultural language shifts that every generation has, leaving the previous one trying to shoo them off their lawn. 🤷‍♀️

I dunno. I just know I prefer to love all over the things I like. Sure, I'll gripe and moan when the urge strikes, but the balance weighs heavily in the favour of enjoying the things I like. Different strokes, I guess.

Heck, the Simpsons gif probably dates me just as much as the "change is scary" attitude. 😂

(also it's funny that the original post is from 2006 so this really is the Eternal Fandom)

Then he slides a hand up and into his hair and gives it a firm tug, and Sam's voice jumps an octave, the whimpering reaching porn star level, almost feminine, all too desperate like he's being fucked within an inch of his life and Dean lives for it.
