I feel like Cassian’s the kind of guy you’d have a best-friend's relationship with. Let me explain. Starting in the morning:

You glanced at the clock then at your mate still snoring soundly in bed and sighed. You and Cassian were supposed to be at the Townhouse in thirty minutes yet this male was still asleep. Rolling your eyes, you marched up to the bed. Cassian looked so peaceful laying on his side, face partially buried in the pillow, and hair swept over his face. What you were feeling at the moment looking at him might even be mistaken for adoration. You picked up a pillow and slammed it on Cassian’s face.   “Ow!” Cassian screamed, sitting upright in bed. “What was that for?” he asked.  “Get up! It's 12. We need to be at the Townhouse by 12:30!” you said and walked towards the closet to get ready.  Cassian groaned loudly, plopping back into bed. “5 more minutes,” he mumbled. Just as he was about to slip back into that peaceful slumber, you grabbed his shoulder to turn him onto his back and captured his lips into a kiss. Now he’s definitely awake.  You pulled away for a second and said, “Good morning,” then kissed him again.  “What are you doing? I haven’t even brushed my teeth yet,” he said.  You smiled. “I don’t care,” and kissed him one last time before pulling him up and out of bed. 

When Cassian gets injured and you’re tending to his wounds: 

He’s sitting in a chair while you’re perched on his lap, inspecting the gash on his wing near his shoulder that he got during training with Azriel. Your concerned frown already tells him that you’re upset he wasn’t more careful.  “Y/n, I’m fine,” he says but he’s quieted by one look from you. You pick up the antiseptic-soaked cotton and gently dab it onto the wound. Cassian hisses from the burning, eliciting a mumbled apology from you. You hold his face gently with one hand, thumb stroking back and forth on his cheek in a comforting gesture. He looks up at you with utter adoration, completely enamoured by your gentle and loving yet strict nature.  Finally, when you’re done, you look into Cassian’s eyes and find some of the anger dissipating.  You smile, gently holding his face between and kissing his forehead. Cassian leans into you, closing his eyes in comfort. You loop your arms around his neck and hug him. Your cheek rests on his forehead, and you sway side to side slowly.  “You gotta be more careful, Cassie,” you mutter and kiss his head again.  He looks up at you, kissing your lips in reassurance. “I’m okay, really. It's not that big of a deal.”  “I know,” you mumble. “But I don’t wanna wait for the day it is a big deal.”  Cassian’s heart stutters for a second. Finally, he smiles and says, “I’ll be more careful next time. Promise.” 

Going shopping with Cassian 

“How's this?” he walks out of the fitting room wearing a tunic.  “No,” you shake your head immediately.  “Why? What's wrong with it?” he asked, looking down at himself to see if he was not wearing it right.  “It looks like an oven is wearing a tunic, Cassie,” you reply.  “Damn, baby,” he says and walks back into the fitting room to try something else on. 

But god forbid anyone says anything to Cassian while you’re there

The IC was sitting in the living of the House of Wind, laughing and chatting about different things all that once. Cassian said something in response to what Amren said in a conversation between her and Nesta.  Immediately, Amren and Mor started jesting Cassian, calling him an unintelligent brute.  You knew it was all fun and games and neither of them really meant it, but you saw the light leave Cassian’s eyes.  You glared daggers in their direction, demanding them they take it back right now or the consequences would not be pretty regardless of how powerful either of them was. When it comes to your mate, no amount of power will stop you from hurting whoever dares to hurt your mate.  They immediately stopped laughing at the look you gave them.  “We didn’t mean it, Cassian, I hope you know that. We’re sorry,” Mor immediately said and looked to you for approval.  You gave a slight nod in response but didn’t smile to let her know apologising did not make this behaviour okay.  Rhysand watched the entire interaction with cunning eyes, internally laughing at how adorable your protective instincts were.  “You found yourself a good one, brother,” he mind spoke to Cassian. 

We all know that Cassian is everyone’s rock in difficult situations. He’s the positive one who manages to make a joke out of every situation, makes a problem not seem like a problem and keeps everyone sane during difficult times. Sometimes, though, all of that gets to him and leads to very bad mental health days where he needs someone to be his rock and take care of him. 

Cassian lays in bed on his side, turned away from the door where you stood. You knew he hadn’t gotten out of bed since morning. That was already concerning given this male never skips a day of training but you just thought he was tired from last night the IC had spent at Rita’s where the two of you had danced and drank a lot.  Now, you weren’t so sure.  You approached the bed slowly, deliberately making your footsteps loud so he wouldn’t be startled. You stroked the bond lovingly, but he kept his side firmly closed.  You laid a gentle hand on his arm, thumb drawing soothing circles into his skin.  “Cassie,” you called softly. “What’s wrong, baby?”  Cassian didn’t reply but he opened his side of the bond, letting you feel what he felt at the moment. Immediately, negative thoughts and an overwhelming sadness engulfed your heart. Your breath stuttered for a second from the pain of what your mate was going through.  You moved to the other side of the bed and laid down so you were now facing Cassian. His dim eyes flicked to yours and you stroked his cheek lovingly.  “I’m here, love,” you said softly.  That was all Cassian needed to hear. He moved closer to you and you laid on your back, giving him room to rest his head on your chest. Your arms wound protectively around him, one hand scratching his scalp lightly. He sighed against you, melting into your embrace, and fell asleep feeling safe and loved and protected.

cheolie— you indulge him

❣︎ okay that may sound weird but, when he's feeling a little whiny? you coddle him and kiss him better. he's dressing up kkuma and calling her his pretty princess? you agree and buy some lil accessories for her! you get the idea.

hannie— opening a bottle for him

❣︎ whether it be a water bottle or some other drink, these things can be a lil tough. it's a cute way to care, opening a drink for someone before handing it to them. he’ll always give you a cute smile when you do, thanking you with a kiss on the cheek.

shua— trying new hobbies with him

❣︎ we’ve seen how much he tries new hobbies, so you join him! he's making beaded bracelets and jewelry? you make some too! trying out air dry clay? you make a lil pinch pot to join his own. whatever it is, you're sitting there with him trying it out and laughing with him at any small mistakes you two make.

junhui— sending him messages throughout the day

❣︎ you know he's busy most of the time, but you want him to know how often you think of him. it could be a small thing, a picture of a flower you saw, or even just an emoji, you'll still send it to him, hoping he can feel all the love you're trying to convey. good morning and good night messages are sent daily, and a “hope you're eating well!” whenever you update him about your own meal is expected.

soonyoung— tucking him in when he falls asleep

❣︎ he's tired from his various schedules throughout the day, so sometimes he just falls asleep on the couch or on the bed, so you tuck him in! you’ll turn off whatever he was doing– watching tv, scrolling through his phone– and pull a blanket over him with a kiss to the forehead, hoping he rests well. it's likely you’ll wake him up within the hour too, just so he can get more comfy, doing his nightly routine with you and also getting into bed. even then, you tuck him in, hoping he knows how much you love him.

wonwoo— you game with him

❣︎ a lil cliche? yes, but i think he enjoys playing calmer, simpler games with you, like animal crossing new horizons or similar co-op games. maybe you two will even play a puzzle game together, as two minds are better than one and he enjoys doing these types of exercises with you.

jihoon— bringing him food

❣︎ he's busy and maybe a lil forgetful at times, so you take it upon yourself to make sure he's eating well. he might be locked up in the practice room– and if so, you’ll bring food for all the members, not just him– or in the universe factory so you bring him some food and company! you're there so often that those working at the company recognize you and give a friendly greeting.

minghao— you watch his little fashion shows

❣︎ with how well this man dresses, i have no doubt in my mind that he likes to create outfits at home and try them on, and whenever he does, you watch him! he’ll put together an outfit and walk out into the living room where you give him your compliments and tell him what you do and don't like, i think he’d like your honesty with it too. shower him in praise, yes, but give him your honest opinion on the outfit along with it.

mingyu— you'll keep him company while he's cooking

❣︎ personally, i don't cook, but i feel like it could be lonely? at times, doing it on your own. so, you decide to sit in the kitchen with him while he cooks! or if you can't be in the kitchen due to its size, you sit near it so you can talk to him comfortably. he likes having you taste test things, trying to make it perfectly to both of your tastes.

seokmin— you write things to him

❣︎ it's usually little notes, stuck in with his lunch or somewhere in his bag, but sometimes you like to write love letters to him. you could be the worst writer out there, or the best, and he'd keep and cherish every single one you give him. maybe this is how you show your affection best, as saying things to his face might make you shy.

seungkwan— peel oranges for him

❣︎ it's boo seungkwan we’re talking about here, so ofc i have to give him a peeled orange hello? it's a small gesture, peeling an orange for someone, but i think it's cute! you care for this person enough to get some orange peel under your nail and give them the fruits of your labor.

vernon— you listen to his music

❣︎ when i say this, i don't mean svt’s music or music he's personally taken part in, but his music taste. he’ll talk about an artist he’s recently been listening to and if you have the time, you'll immediately pull them up on your phone, ready to try them out. if you don't have the time, you note it down so you can listen to them and tell him your thoughts!

chan— you watch him dance

❣︎ yes, this could go for all of them, but i think since chan has spent most of his life dancing, it's a bit more meaningful for him. maybe you even join him sometimes! it doesn't matter either way, just you being there, enjoying the music and his dancing is enough for him. whenever he finishes a routine and you clap for him, he can feel his love for you grow more and more.

SYPNOSIS thirteen times seventeen smiles (and it's because of you).

CHOI SEUNGCHEOL

"okay, love, i think we're going inside soon, so please come quickly," seungcheol ends the call, locking his car doors. his eyes find the entrance to the vet, making his way over to the front doors.

seungcheol's dog, kkuma, had her monthly health checkup today.

in the morning, seungcheol received a sudden call from jihoon, asking him to come to the studio to record. although seungcheol was going to push the appointment to a few hours back, you had offered to take kkuma yourself so his schedule wasn’t cramped.

now, he had finished recording quickly at the studio and rushed to the pet hospital.

when seungcheol walks through the doors to the waiting room, he doesn't expect the sight.

seungcheol smiles when he sees you clutching kkuma close to your chest, shielding her from the scary waiting room.

there were other dogs present in the room; some barking while others sat quietly by their owners.

you stare down at kkuma, petting her softly to make her calm.

"it’s okay, baby, i’m right here." you coo at her while your boyfriend approaches you, causing kkuma’s tail to wag.

"hey, love," seungcheol gently pecks your lips before sitting. you beam when he holds his arms out, asking for kkuma to come to his hold.

"come here, kkuma. did your mom take care of you while i was away?"

kkuma’s tail remains wagging as you both stare at her with loving eyes.

"appointment for choi seungcheol?" the nurse calls next to the reception counter, causing you and seungcheol to straighten up.

"oh, that's us," you grab kkuma from seungcheol’s hold and he picks up the carrier from the floor.

"kkuma, we're going to be with you the entire time," you assure her as seungcheol places a hand on your lower back, walking down the hallway.

YOON JEONGHAN

jeonghan is going to die.

not literally, but in the game of mafia, and he doesn't know it.

"i bet it's mingyu," jeonghan guesses while mingyu shrinks down from the accusation, at a loss of words for the first time all game.

"it's not me!" he protests, but it's no use.

you were on vacation with your friend when decided to play mafia after dinner. you were chosen by seungkwan to be the mafia with mingyu and seokmin, but mingyu was about to get voted out.

"should we vote him out?" seungcheol asks the group, happy that one of the mafias has been caught. the group erupts into laughter and mingyu starts whining.

"we should,” jeonghan teases more, sitting beside you and not noticing the nervous looks shared between you and seokmin. there were still a lot of civilians alive, so you and seokmin couldn’t get caught.

looking around the circle of everyone sitting on the wooden floor, there are more votes to kick mingyu off.

“the night falls,” seungkwan resumes the game while mingyu stands up to join the other civilians who died, and everyone places their head down.

“mafias, raise your heads,” seungkwan says. you and seokmin look up, staring at mingyu too. hansol, wonwoo, and jihoon watch you three brainstorm who to kill next.

seokmin eagerly points next to you, choosing jeonghan as the next target to eliminate. it must have been because your boyfriend was suspecting mingyu and seokmin from the beginning rounds, so mingyu nodded his head silently, targeting jeonghan.

you shake your head, asking them to vote out seungcheol instead. you didn’t want jeonghan dying now.

for the past two games, jeonghan was one of the earliest people to die or get voted off, all while he was a mere civilian. you know he wouldn’t say anything out loud, but he was finally having fun trying to guess the mafia for this game, you couldn’t let him die right now.

seokmin and mingyu try to protest, but eventually agree to vote out seungcheol instead.

“mafias, place your heads down.”

the game continues, with only you, jeonghan, and soonyoung left. seokmin was eliminated two rounds ago, and you could’ve won if he didn’t get voted out.

soonyoung stares between you and jeonghan, gears turning in his head, "oh my god," he stands up screaming, "the other mafia is y/n!”

soonyoung stands up, hopping around the room, "i figured it out! i’m too good!"

jeonghan shifts to stare at you, "no, it can't be."

“jeonghan, it’s not you because you’ve been throwing accusations left and right like a civilian, it’s not me, so who else would it be?”

after soonyoung’s point, you and jeonghan share a look.

“fine, you’ve caught me,” you confess, sighing loudly. you weren’t going to win against soonyoung if he had made up his mind that it was you.

since you have already confessed, soonyoung and the other civilians laugh in victory.

mingyu exclaims from the dead, “seokmin, why did you get eliminated? we were so close to winning!”

“hey,” seokmin points at you, “we would’ve won if we voted out jeonghan earlier…” he trails off staring at jeonghan.

“your girlfriend didn’t want us eliminating you,” seokmin shakes his head jokingly, “so you caught me and mingyu”

you protest, “but he kept dying early in the previous games,” you place a hand over jeonghan’s shoulders “i had to protect him, even as a mafia.”

jeonghan smiles when he realizes that you didn’t want to eliminate him, so he could keep playing the game.

seungkwan stands up and waits for everyone to join back in the circle to start.

but jeonghan, he stares at you in complete shock at the truth, pressing a kiss to your forehead before leaning on your body.

HONG JISOO

jisoo has habits.

if you ask for a bottle of water, he will open the cap before handing it to you.

if you hear him making his morning coffee, he will never forget your cup before joining you on the couch.

if you feel down, he will grab flowers and your favorite dessert before coming home.

all in all, your boyfriend will do everything, just because that’s his way of showing his love.

so someone tell this man why he came home to the beautiful candles lit, rose petals covering the wooden floor, and homemade dinner set on the dining table.

“love, what’s all this?” he steps down the hallway, spotting you standing with a gift bag.

you shrug, a smile not leaving your lips because of his surprised reaction, “no occasion, you just looked really stressed this past week so i decided to throw a little dinner date.”

jisoo walks over to you to pull you into a hug, before kissing you briefly. “thank you.” when he pulls away, you hand him the gift bag, “oh! this is for you. i know you’ve been eyeing that watch when we went to the mall, so i bought it!”

jisoo stands there stunned, accepting the gift and watching as you usher him to the dining table. he sits down on the chair, while you walk over to the kitchen counter and grab the prepared plates.

“now let’s eat quickly, i prepared your favorite dish, although i had to call your mom and get her help…”

jisoo hears you ramble on about how you had spent the beginning of the call catching up with her, before realizing you had to cook since so much time had passed and it was almost night.

jisoo smiles when he sees that someone will always be there to take care of him, and he wants this forever.
