I love seeing posts from people being worried about how spicy the rwrb movie will be because the book was "so explicit"... meanwhile I listened to most of the book as an audio book during my breaks in uni or on public transport while keeping a straight face all the time... It was after a day in the Court of Nightmares

It always stressed him out, but this time, it was particularly bad.

He hated who he had to become with each visit to the Hewn City—the persona he had to take on.

He didn’t say a word when he arrived home, which worried you immediately.

You went to him, and as soon as you reached to hug him he hissed, “Don’t touch me.”

You jumped at his tone, unable to hide the tears forming in your eyes.

His expression dropped as he realized what he’d done, but you left the room before he could apologize.

He left you alone for a couple of hours, cooking dinner for the two of you.

He apologized at the table, voice cracking in pain at what he’d done to you.

When the two of you went to bed that night, he held you tightly, whispering apologies and sweet nothings over and over.

The next morning when you woke up, there were flowers on the bed, and breakfast was waiting downstairs.

Rhys was in the kitchen only wearing an apron.

Cassian

The two of you were sparring.

Cassian had always been hard on you when it came to training. He pushed you to be the best you could.

But he went too far, this time.

You were panting, sweaty, and exhausted, but Cassian was relentless.

You hunched over, hands on your knees as you tried to catch your breath.

Cassian told you, without thinking, “You’ll never be good enough if you keep giving up.”

He had meant it to be motivational, but Cassian, ever the charmer, said it quite harshly.

As Cassian saw your teary-eyed expression, a string of curses fell from his lips. “Shit, baby, I...”

You ignored Cassian, and wordlessly retreated to your room, tears streaming down your face.

He found you in the bathtub, wings drooping behind him. He grabbed a wash cloth, silently wiping away the grime and sweat from your body, kissing any exposed skin he could reach.

He muttered countless apologies, telling you how stupid he is, and how scared he is to lose you.

Later, he apologized with his tongue, his hands, his…well, you get it.

At first, he hadn’t even realized he hurt your feelings.

In truth, it wasn’t a huge deal, but you’d been telling him about a book you were reading, excitement lining your face and words.

You’d thought he was listening, until he turned and said, “I’m busy.”

The words stung, but you nodded, quietly leaving his study.

Azriel was confused when you didn’t re-emerge from your shared room that evening. He found you in bed, wrapped in the blankets, your book in hand.

“What chapter are you on?” He asked, curious as he climbed in bed beside you.

“Not like you’d care,” you muttered, annoyed as you turned away from him.

His brows furrowed in confusion, but then a long sigh left him as he realized. “I’m so sorry, sweetheart,” he murmured, pulling you against his chest.

He peppered your neck and shoulder with kisses, murmuring words of comfort and apology.

He also apologized with his tongue between your legs. ANYWAYS

Afterwards, he listened intently as you told him about your book, and the next day, he came home with several more books that you’d been wanting.

“Aw, sick, dude 🤟🏽”
