đ Call of Cthulhu: Haunted Hijinx Masterpost đ đ¶ Call of Cthulhu Season Three Masterpost đ¶
Warning: This campaign is an edited version of Call of Cthulhu: Song and Dance scenario from the Tales of the Crescent City book. While a lot has been changed, there IS spoilers for it throughout these posts.
ANOTHER BIG THANKYOU TO @inkdemonapologist FOR HELPING ME WRAP UP THE LAST SUMMARY OF SEASON 3!!! THAT'S RIGHT! WE'VE MADE IT AT LAST!!! which means we can now start posting the 18384927 post game RP logs we've been doing meanwhile lmao.
ART CHANGES THIS SEASON!! @inkdemonapologist and I are collabing on all the art for these summery posts!! Shazz does lines, and I compose and colour the pieces.
Almost done, just one last muse to free.
But first, the Angel left a bit of a mess. While Jack is using all his willpower to NOT give into the urge to âfixâ everyone by shoving ink into them, Joey pleads with Prophet to do the final ritual with Susie, so that there wonât be any weirdness between Susie and Allison. Prophetâs flattered, but he⊠would need more time to study this one. Why not let her do it? Joey concedes, but he wants to be the one to lead it. Jack helps Leon patch Allison up so she can be ready for round 3, while Joey and Prophet go to reset all the candles that got knocked over in the fight.
Susie wants to talk to Allison, while they wait. What were her intentions at the Studio? Allison assures her she didnât even want the part (which offends Susie more, honestly) â she just wanted to keep her eye on this Studio, after everything theyâve been up to!! ... What⊠have they been up to, exactly, Susie asks?
⊠and Allison admits, well, maybe they were just⊠protecting their home. It sounded ridiculous at the time, but⊠maybe thatâs really all it was. Someone told her recently to be careful of making monsters out of others, and maybe thatâs what she did here. (Thanks for putting in a good word for us, Tom!!!)
Joey, of course, has been busy getting everything in order and has heard none of this, but Susie and Allison seem to be on okay terms, so letâs hurry up and do this ritual â without the creative power from the muses of storytelling or dance keeping him going, Joey is running on pure determination and adrenaline. Tasty.
And together, theyâre able to do it. The golden glow drifts out of Susie, but this time, they all hear a faint âthank youâ before the spirit disappears.
Susie collapses.
Allison tries to catch her, but it wrenches her bad arm and she falls to the floor as well.
Joey passes out, too, with his one goal done â and now Jackâs feeling the sudden drop in energy as the muse of music returns to normal; he loses consciousness as well.
But
Prophetâs too thrilled to give in!!! announcing âWeâve done it, my Lord!â before swapping back to regular Sammy â whhoooo ALSO immediately passes out without the extra creative energy keeping him going, leaving Henry and Norman and Timothee with a bunch of unconscious people. Henry and Norman are maybe not the ideal folks to handle the inevitable police visit after all those gunshots, but Timothee is also a child of Lady Orchid and can pull some of his influence before taking Nichole home.
Henry and Norman just get people into beds. Bendy, uh, helps??? Which means Joeyâs body is wandering around, but Joey himself is practically unwakeable right now and Jack is bleary enough that driving home seems unwise. Better to just spend the night for now and sort it in the morning.
7 AM greets them with Henry waking Joey up with a panicked, âWhat are we doing here, whatâs going on?! âŠI donât think I remember last night.â
The colour drains from Joeyâs face, and he tries to calm Henry, find out what the last thing he remembers is â Henry knows he remembers the contest. When asked if he remembers that scythe spell, Henry groans and admits that he does, but heâs still shaking and does not seem all right, so Joey runs off to dig through Jackâs bag and find something to draw with â oh, hey, at some point Henryâs sketchbook ended up in here, and thereâs the rest of Joeyâs ink, and also one of Joeyâs nice pens? Anyway, thatâs enough for him to bring Henry something to draw on, hoping that will calm him down. HEâS NOT GOOD AT COMFORTING and his brain is running at full capacity trying to figure out what to doâŠ
Henry immediately starts drawing one of the monsters from last night. He remembers some things⊠he remembers attacking Sammy, though Sammy has no recollection of what Prophet did and canât verify this, and Joey is sure that the two of them were working together by the end of the night and seemed fine â but, uh, Henry wasnât quite himself and Joey had been afraid heâd lost him, LETâS NOT⊠USE THAT SPELL AGAIN,,,,,
in the meantime, Joey finally admits to himself his few and far between weaknesses, that maybe he still isnât, at the end of the day, the one who can comfort Henry, and asks his best friend if⊠heâd like Joey to call Linda for him. Henryâs taken aback, and agrees, so Joey swipes Jackâs hat to cover his horns and heads outside to use a payphone.
Sammy goes to check on Jack, then on Susie, who looks a little worse for wear â she thanks him for coming after her, and admits that she remembers it all, but it feels like a dream. She⊠wants to talk about all this later, if they could, but for now, even as worn out as she is, sheâs eager to get back and finally record a good take of that new Alice Angel song. She canât believe they didnât stop by the studio all week, when that was the whole reason she agreed! But Nichole had so many other things she wanted to do with them, that they just never got the chanceâŠ
Joey gets back, asks Henry how heâs doing. Henry says heâs doing okay (but heâs definitely not doing okay). So Joey gently pulls him towards the door, where⊠Linda is waiting for him. Joey actually called her over. Henry is overwhelmed, hugs his wife, and gives Joey a grateful look â he knows how much this means for Joey to do. Joey just tells him not to worry about the cartoon and to get some rest.
And then itâs time to clean up and get going!
Joey uses Bendyâs help to just make a giant cartoon squeegee, as you do, to smoosh all the candles and ink and paint and chalk together, so hopefully it wonât be useful to any future cultists, and throw this weird ball of gunk in the garbage. Allison tries to⊠sort of apologise? â or at least explain why she had thought mind-controlling Sammy was justified â but the boys are not interested and Joey simply tells her theyâll talk later.
THE PREMIER IS TOMORROW WE HAVE A CARTOON TO FINISH.
Well, first back to Jackâs house to get a shower since weâre all sort of gross from getting dunked in the lake but
THEN, WE HAVE A CARTOON TO FINISH.
The music department is sluggish, everyone there feeling the after-effects of the musesâ presence, but Sammy is as demanding as ever, refusing to let a musical cataclysm stop his department from creating excellent work. Lyrics are done, but Jackâs nonetheless here to⊠balance Sammy out a little. Henry shows up halfway through the day anyway, and Joey decides that if Linda let him come then he probably needs something to work on. Joey is feeling PRETTY DEAD today and mostly works out of his office, though he does clear off a spare desk in there for Henry to work beside him, away from the stress clamor of the rest of the studio, and also perhaps just to enjoy each otherâs quiet companionship.
Itâs been a long time since they both just sat and worked on animating together.
Thereâs a few messages for the boys throughout the day â one from Peter checking in with Joey on how he should describe their group to the reporter they rescued (Joey settles on âsomeone else who got tangled up with that cult and wanted to set things rightâ), another from Peter to Jack letting him know that his cat Beans had been fed the night before and DO NOT BELIEVE HER when she inevitably tries to convince him that sheâs never been fed in her life, and finally, a simple letter to Joey that just says, âWe should talk sometime,â with the address of a local cafe, a date and a time, and the signature of âY.â
JoeyâŠâŠâŠâŠ decides the other boys maybe possibly do not need to know about this last letter right now.
Susie shows up â with that chocolate cake she promised last week, at last!! â to do a take on the new version. Joey stops by the department to cheer on his Alice Angel, which she appreciates; after everything, her first take chokes, but her second is beautiful. She loves the song and she loves the new changes to it. Sammyâs pleased with her performance, though he mutters that it might be the best thing heâll ever write. But heâs soon cheered up by the prospect of a cake untouched by roaming janitors, even sharing a piece with Jack and Susie. Joey, who had figured out some magical control over ink at some point, will handle updating the lipsyncing so nobody has to redraw entire cells.
AND SOMEHOW, THE CARTOON IS FINISHED????
ON TIME????
A⊠feature length cartoon, in 1934??????
DâŠDID JDS JUST BEAT DISNEY TO A FEATURE???????
( joey b like: >:3c )
Well, Joey DOES have the break room magic that helps everyone in the studio gel with each other a little more to work faster, and stay awake just a little easier, and in this timeline JDS does still have Henry. Itâs not in colour, and probably not as complex as Disneyâs first feature will be, (joey voice hUSH) but still, the first feature length animated movie will be a Bendy cartoon put out by Joey Drew Studios! GOSH!!
That evening Joey reaches out to Nichole Savoy, the daughter of Lady Orchid, to let her know about the premier tomorrow â he did promise her and her friends a stage, after all, and heâs not one to go back on his word, if theyâd like to perform for the premier? Or if not, heâll just give them all tickets, but if they so choose, he trusts theyâll put on a magnificent show. Nichole is taken aback and tells him that heâs very strange, but gratefully accepts.
And now, the most important task before the premiere: Joey decides itâs time to drag all his boys out for fancy new outfits (Itâs for the premier!!! Itâs part of the premier budget!!! Donât worry about it!!) personally tailored and picked out by yours truly. Perhaps it is also⊠a little treat for himself, getting to see all his boys dressed up nice⊠yâknow, for finishing the cartoon. That is going to premiere. Only that reason, nothing more.
And the premier itself goes great. Susie sings the new song live with Colette as a dancer (and Sammy on the piano), Nichole doesnât perform but seems really happy to see her friends get this spotlight and night out with her. The cartoon itself is pretty darn close to what they hoped it would be. Afterwards Jack keeps everyone charmed and out of range to socialise with Sammy while Sammy glares and looks unapproachable; Henry is a little tired for socialising but DOES want someone to ask about the animation on the scenes heâs proudest of, while his kids try to pick which scenes are his; and the head of the local paper catches Joey Drew to ask about an interview about this unprecedented accomplishment, and Joeyâs all too happy to set up a time for a tour.
The head of the paper is also curious if Joeyâs met Peter Sunstram? They seemed to know each other, and the man had been looking for a job at his paper, and he wonders how well Mr. Sunstram takes direction? Thereâs a glint in Joeyâs eye as he realises his chance to talk Peter Sunstram up as only Joey Drew can. Jack surely wonât leave if his OTHER boyfriend is ALSO in New York!
And that one investor who started all of this is here, too; oblivious to the magical shenanigans he inadvertently kicked off, but thrilled with the finished film heâs just seen! Somewhere, Grant can breathe a sigh of relief, and hopefully soon, so can the boys.
Joey Drew Studios has managed the impossible, one more time.

My Mistakes (BATIM/BATDR)
What happens when a man makes a machine that makes a monster?
A monster that not even the darkest fairy tales could come up with. Man made. Not an inch of flesh or blood in sight: a collection of teeth, ink and a manâs mistakes
My mistakes.
A machine ahead of its time, a creation unlike anything made before, perfect yet flawed in so many ways. It calls to me, like it did to so many of the others, a shiny black ooze leaking from its nozzle; a stain on the ground, a stain in our hearts, reminding us of the mistakes we made. Of the mistakes I made.
It wasnât my fault. It wasnât my fault. Was it?
We were creators, inventors, scientists, repairmen. We created and repaired, making machines under the blaze of the lights in the Atlantic City sky, cocooned by the noise of the city. This is where we came from, this is where we made it. This is where Iâll fix it.
A thick black liquid oozes and leaks, dripping and flowing, running through the pipes in the walls, leaking through the cracks in the ceiling, finding its way into us, into our bodies, into our minds and heads, our heart and soul, one and the same, connected through the pipes, a steel, beating drum playing in our heads like a rhythm that we need to dance along to.Â
I should destroy it; I really need to destroy it, yet something stops me- a feeling of unease, a feeling of conflict- I canât destroy it yet. I should, before it hurts and kills more people, before it spreads and infects, but something stops me. My creation. Itâs like a child. You canât abandon a child.
Iâm sorry. Iâm so sorry, Allison.
An angel, she was. My angel, a light in the darkness and I lost her too. I still hear her heavenly voice singing to me, pulling my hand and keeping my head above the waves, except the wave isnât water, itâs ink and then itâs not ink but blood and the blood on my hands matches the blood on his, the lives on my slate weighing me down dragging me down, the lives taken by a machine of my own making, a creation made by my hands my skills his ideas and suddenly, we donât know who to blame.
What did I create?
An angel, a demon, a wolf.
Three characters dancing on the stage, happy little characters, not a worry in sight. So many choices hide behind their piecut eyes.Â
Betrayal The demon
Jealousy The angel
Fear and guilt The wolf
Each played a part, crucial to survive. Each played a part, a reason for their demise. He pulled the strings and pulled us along, puppets on the stage being played like a violin, being swayed by his charm to do things that we shouldnât.
To create things that we shouldnât.
What happens when a man creates a machine that creates a monster? Thatâs something I could tell you, something that I know well. The man loses everything.
Song sketches : Ayano (Audrey)âs theory of happiness
Aka I donât have enough time to make a video on this maybe someday hopefully but for now to relieve my urge to make a video and procrastinate again I will make a sketch for it
Terror in his face, he said âIâm a monster deep inside.â filled with fear.
But theyâre wrong and so I said âThatâs not true at all, just look here.âÂ
âThat âmonsterâ you hate so much, a hero turns it to strength to save many.â
âItâs okay, no need to be afraid anymore.â
Thinking of whatâd be fun, or might be dumb
I was their âbigâ sister and tried my best to-
âHey guys, look over here!â
A crimson bow I tied around me
âA secret brigade- er something!â
Dye it in hues of colors, so we can begin
Just because we play heroes it doesnât mean nothing
âSo maybe just a little, weâll smile again.â
And always be one big happy family
I hope theyâre happy and laughing at every new day
And if they just couldnât take it, they wonât run away
âNow listen close, hear this secret for you.â
And so the sun sets, on a day fun and new
adapted lyrics of JubyPhonicâs cover of Ayanoâs theory of happiness by Jin
Bendy : Fade To Black cover released a few weeks ago, and I had a few theories and speculations I discussed with my friends on discord âbout it, which Iâm gonna share here, cuz why not.
JoyPaws, one of my friends, had dug a bit deeper into the design of the TV, and commented it on Adrienne Kressâs post on Insta that it could be from the 50s, which her reply can somewhat 50% confirm that it is indeed a TV from the 50s, which would be a strange time, since both GENT and JDs (at least the NYC location) both shut down before or early 50s.
The other thing is that Bendy is climbing out of the TV here and I just wondered if this is a new method Bendy/Ink Demon could travel or something. GENT and JDS does some funky things with the ink, who says they canât slip some ink into some cables, some wires, some signal towers, and boom a new way for Ink Demon to travel quickly. Like those movies where a ghost climbs out of the TV. Just a speculation.
And also, another teaser image had the line âWhat is real?â and I wonder if that alludes to some sort of trippy dream logic or something, âcause the ink can clearly do some reality-time warp and stuff. The cycleâs a clear example of that.
BORIS AND THE INK MACHINE:A spin wheel AU
âDanganronpa but the wheel decides their fateâ videos began to show up on my recommends again, and I had a funny idea if I literally grab every single Bendy character, throw them into a wheel, and then spin to replace each character with what the wheel decides. Suffice to say, it turned out very cursed, but also makes sense at the same time. (Also I separated certain categories of characters from each other, such as multiple enemies like Lost Ones from stand-alone enemies like Sammy Lawrence. As funny as itâll be I donât think having an army of Projectionists or Sammies would make a lot of sense)
Warning : spoiler for the entirety of batim and a lot of writing under the cut, beware!
Welcome to Boris and The Ink Machine!
Where good olâ Joey Drew gets a letter from his old business partner, Abby Lambert, to come visit the old workshop! But unfortunately for Joey as a hellish version of Boris, our lovely main cartoon character, who broke loose courtesy of the cursed ink machine, sends Joey down into the pits of the studio! Oh look, whatâs this? Itâs the GENT wing! Joey unfortunately runs into his old friend, head of GENT, Alan Gray! Now worshipping Boris and claiming he can set them free by sacrificing Joey. As Joey runs for his life he struggles in the department as heâs chased down by ferocious strikers and thereâs also Swollen Wally to make things even more difficult! Luckily Boris shows back up just in the nick of time to allow Joey to escape!Â
Suddenly, he runs into CHARLEY!! A room he had worked alongside Boris before, standing, breathing right in front of his eyes! Charley takes Joey in and they start living together within the safety of Charleyâs safe house! A book on Charleyâs table tells a story about a guy named âJacobâ hmm, sure, not ominous at all! They decide to venture on into the studio and meets Heavenly Toys, where a twisted caricature of another lovable toon, Bendy, screams for revenge! Searching deeper into the studio reveals that this Bendy is none other than Nathan Arch Jr/Wilson, the former voice actor of Bendy!
The little devil tricks Joey into doing a ton of chores, where our brave animator has to fight of hoards of fishers, lost ones and strikers, and also avoiding the terrifying grip of Jane Todd, a former artist turned into a feral monster. Not only that, Boris can also apparently hear every sound he makes! Unfortunately this all reveals to be a facade set up by Nathan/Bendy who kidnaps Charley and takes him hostage. Joey rushes to save his friend, but no task comes without its difficulties!
Joey is forced to face the former employees now seeking revenge in the animation department, namely Dave the former head of animation. Besides that Joey is also forced to prove his stealth by sneaking past the horrifying Pipers, Strikers and Lost ones once again! But once Joey reaches Bendy, this all proves to be for naught as Charley has already been turned into a Frankenstein-like monster by Bendy! Joey is forced to put his friend out of misery, and as Bendy nearly attacks Joey, another pair of perfect toons show up to save him in time!
Look there! Itâs Angus Newman the perfect Bendy and Lacie Benton, another perfect Charley! The two locks Joey up as they do not trust him yet, but one day abandons him as Boris shows up for another attack! Joey quickly breaks out of his prison with the use of his shiny, new seeing tool given to him by Angus the Bendy. Joey eventually reaches the lost Bendy Land, where Alan Gray shows up again, proving he survived earlier, and proceeds to try to take out Joey again, claiming he lied to him. Joey narrowly avoids his demise as Lacie the Charley takes Alan out in the nick of time.
A large fight breaks out between them and the searchers and pipers who had been kept at bay by Alan! Fortunately, they survive, and journey back into the depths of the studio together, eventually reaching the ink machine chamber, where Joey is forced to face off against Beast Boris! Joey escapes and vanquishes the beast by using a reel labeled âThe Endâ left there by his former business partner, Abby, once again. This all turns out to be a time loop they canât escape from! Will Joey ever find his freedom?
