Y'know, gender is pretty complicated. People say it's a spectrum, but even calling it that feels restricted... in a weird way.

That goes for sexuality too.

It's scary to be wrong, but it's better to just accept the fact that you might be then deny it and face issues that could've been easily avoided.

Honestly, from my experiences, I just like the approach of 'fuck it, we ball' cause I have much bigger issues than people judging me for things I do not give a fuck about.

But ik that not everyone's like me. The best thing I can say is, just be yourself. It doesn't matter in the end. You got like, what? One life? Enjoy it the best you can.

my gender identity is complicated.

I call myself a transman when I am not, it's easier than explaining myself to my parents. I call myself genderqueer, which I kind of am, but i rarely use it as a label. but my family would not understand that. I want to be seen as anything but a woman, but I am scared to let go of my femininity. I wear dresses and skirts and it's why my parents say they can't see me as trans. it's why I can't full accept myself even if I've changed my name and pronouns in social spaces.

It's honestly shocking how people don't get that. I thought them being abused was more than obvious, but nope. Guess it wasn't.

Idk how many times I've said this, but both of the brothers are very flawed and fucked up due to their traumas and experiences.

It's alright to hate their shitty aspects, but people need to realize that character development does exist.

I'm actually shocked that neither of them were abusive or hateful towards the mystery twins due to their own experiences, but then again, it makes sense.

They aren't role models, but their love and care for those children is genuine.

As long as you're taking asks about Stan getting kicked out:

I've seen people say Ford should've done something/stood up for Stan then, and hoo boy. No, that wouldn't have made things better.

If Ford had tried to do anything, Filbrick probably would’ve lashed put at him, too. Might've kicked them both out, even. That kind of intimidation comes with the unspoken threat that it could get turned on you if you're not careful.

I think Stan looking up into that window haunted him for years.

People who say that Ford should have stood up for Stan are flat-out victim blaming. Ford was a kid who grew up in a toxic abusive home. It is NOT easy to stand up for yourself against an abusive toxic parent, let alone for someone else. It's also not really something that happens in abusive households like Ford and Stan's childhood home.

And yes. At best, Ford would have been hit or yelled at if he'd tried to defend Stan. Chances are, though, if Ford had tried to defend Stan, he would have been kicked out, too.

I agree it most likely haunted him for years; hell, Ford looked downright miserable when it happened.

One thing I find interesting with the discussion around Ford’s character in Gravity Falls is that I think people often forget that there is a reason Bill Cipher and Stanford got along so well. People often opt for flattery blinding Ford so much he stumbled into the palm of Bill’s hand but I feel that this ignores a huge piece of Ford’s character: he is incredibly selfish.

Seeing Ford develop throughout the course of the show can make it easy to forget just how bad his ego really was (still is) but keep in mind that every narrative that Stanford tends to push forward has this underlying wave of self righteousness in order to justify whatever shenanigans he got wrapped into.

I love Ford and I absolutely adore how complex Gravity Falls is when it comes to its character writing and dynamics. Bill Cipher and Stanford got along very deeply and despite what either of them want anyone to believe, they’re extremely similar beings? People?? Yeah!
