I'm not sure if I could handle it when they are both getting married in the same week

I was really depressed the past couple of days, but this line of dialogue in the screenshot above cheered me up.

Alain Richter…this character is so kind and sees beyond physical appearances. Can we talk about how society nowadays pressures and guilts women into *NEEDING* to dress themselves up to feel valid?

The MC is wearing a hoodie, t-shirt, and jeans. She cares about her appearance, she wants to look good for Alain. But, Alain doesn’t really care…granted they are both a little tipsy, Alain loves the MC for something more than a pretty face. Unfortunately, most dating APPs nowadays like Tinder focus on physical appearances and swiping based on that. I think we loose sight of what really matters, people’s personalities, hobbies, and more! We are people! We are not a deck of cards to be swiped and dealt!

I remember a conversation I had with a friend recently and I was complaining to him that I was feeling sick of having to dress up pretty for dates. (Listen, I’m a huge tomboy and my closet is mostly jeans, shirts, and hoodies lol…solidarity with the L&L MC here.) And, he said that I should just be myself and shouldn’t feel the necessity to look good for a guy (or girl or partner). If they love you, then they’ll love you for who you are, not what you look like.

“You do not need a gown or jewels to catch my interest.” (Alain dialogue)

But, seriously…that line of dialogue makes me feel valid. Whoever wrote that deserves a gold medal and some of my blueberry muffins.

Inktober 2018, Day 20, sketch of the lightning cat, Andi Kim from Villainous Nights. I never drew fanart for her before and went straight to cosplaying her rofl…good job me. xD I had so much fun cosplaying as her and running around San Francisco posing!

I discovered something new, Andi has dark brown eyes…for the longest time I thought she had dark purple eyes. And, holy shietttt, I can’t believe I’m on Inktober Day 20! The style looks a bit different from Day 1 drawings. O_O I’m a bit in shock? (pun intended)

AND, OMFG…Villainous Nights is coming back 11/19! Can’t wait for more Renzei and Andi! Especially cause Renzei’s season 3 finale killed a little part of me. And, there is just so much boba tea in that series, sometimes it’s unbelievable. xD

Inktober 2018, Day 16, sketch of Medusa from Astoria Fate’s Kiss/Lost Kisses. Sorry Medusa, you’re a sweet lady and I love your taste in rare tea (oolong is my fav too) and passion for books, but Alex Cyprin stole my heart in your route. Uh, so…I kinda’ never finished your Fate’s Kiss story lol…though, I did enjoy season 1 of Lost Kisses a lot! 

Also, I figure since the story is based a lot off Greek mythology, why not have her holding the book of the most influential philosopher in ancient Greece and the Western world? I’m in the progress of finishing the complete works of Plato, pretty much just read a couple stories a day. There’s over 1500 pages so, it’s quite bulky…thank god for Kindle APP. I also have collections of books from other philosophers, it’s like my pocket library! xD

My favorite portion in the book is “Apology” though it makes me depressed sometimes. To summarize it in my own words and thoughts, Socrates was a man who was just doing what he loved to do, teach philosophy. But, he was put on trial because others thought it was corrupt.

“My plainness of speech makes them hate me, and what is their hatred but a proof that I am speaking the truth.” (Socrates, from the Apology)

It’s pretty sad right? It breaks my heart that good people get judged and punished for what they love to do. But, I truly admire Socrates for staying true to his beliefs and not running away from his execution. He continued to teach until his last days before his death, never blaming those who prosecuted him.
