KOSA is BS.

I dont think a lot of people realize how genuinely dangerous this bill is. It was made explicitly and specifically to screw over the lives of LGTBQ+ kids. cishet non-allies will be like: Oh I think protecting children is good! Wahoo!! And be in full support, not knowing how many deaths and maybe even anti-LGTBQ+ child murders this will cause. People just assume things are all fine and dandy for children in the community when they're on the outside, and they don't realize if anything how absolutely /evil/ some of the anti-LGTBQ+ "parents" trying to push this are, from experience btw. Imagine what would happen if all of their children's private online information was revealed to them. Of course the "parents" will be enraged and the children in question would 100% be either abused psychologically, put through home based conversion, sent to conversion places, or literally beaten and killed. Maybe all in chronological order. I was originally outed as transgender to my parents by means of an online "child protection" monitoring app. I survived physically. Mentally it isn't going so well. To all those considering KOSA as a good thing, think about the consequences for supporting something without reading the fine print.

You know those depression sheets the doctors are required to give you before your appointment? Those are *not* for you. They can't help based on that. They *won't* help based on that. Those are just for KOSA, for statistics that they don't tell you about. They'll use that to prove that kids need KOSA. Please please just write no for all the boxes even if it does apply. You're just a statistic to them

The thing about KOSA that makes me feel the worst is that I am helpless. I am not an American. I have no power to change the votes or reps. But the internet and social media are used by everyone.

Please. If you have the power. Email your representatives, vote against this bill.

Because so many of us don't have that power

If we lose the internet as it is now. We lose some of the most important resources we have in our modern day. Widespread information, online communities, connections to others that are different than us, online safety, understanding.

Movements like Free Palestine will be censored, LGBTQ topics and protection online will be exposed, we will lose millions of posts on these subjects.

Please, please, we don't have much time.
