Low-key I’m Always Praying For The Apocalypse
if everybody dies and we’re stuck in this tiny city again and again and again wandering 5 AM like mist, that’d be okay. If the whole ocean swallows me in pieces; legs, lust, heart, wardrobe, I’ll leave you that fucking necklace because that’s sort of the point. There’s a beauty in doing your best to be broken. I’m so good at cracked voices and bloody heads, I should probably start charging every time somebody touches my cheek. If the trees wake up and start spearing us with stormy voices and windsong, tell us “you shouldn’t be moving so much”, don’t say I didn’t tell you so, but you can borrow my ax. If I ever wake up from the dream, don’t tell me. Pretend this whole continent a nightmare. Fake that I’m still trying really hard to make you make sense, or to make me make sense. If anybody finds us, starts talking about survivors, starts talking about hope, let’s tie rocks around their necks and throw them in the water where the blue is black as your eyes.

I want to dig out what is ancient in me, the mistaken-for-monster, its ophidian prowl, its raven-cursed rudiment - let it teach me how to be unafraid again.
