(Okay okay, so I have a very heavy fascination towards unrequited crushes(that stay unrequited) due to the fact that I was on the receiving end of one(that also lead to a flag being raised regarding my aromantic orientation). It was baffling to me at the time that anyone would feel those things and feel that way that strongly towards me. Of course, I rejected. Never was one to give pity dates. If I’m not interested, than I’m not interested. Anyways, the process of moving past that crush, of clearing up the pink clouds in your eyes and eventually finding a new normal again fascinated me. To me, it was a most beautiful growth to witness. Sooooo…yeah. I like unrequited crushes that stay that way, none of that “actually requited unrequited crush” tropes. I don’t see enough narratives that properly explore that type of growth.)

(Anyways, Prefect is aromantic here. Also, reminder that what actions categorize as romantic, platonic, and queerplatonic differ from person to person, so you’ll be seeing my version.)

Floyd 1

Summary: Floyd has been put in the shame bucket. He wanted to bite, then he'll be punished for it.

(More house pet AU cause it disappeared from the tags AGAIN. So you're getting a Floyd being put in the bucket of shame.)

You were cleaning the underside of the tank's lid when Floyd jumped out and latched into the side of your hand.

You hissed sharply, feeling his sharp little teeth sinking in, thankfully not chewing but.

"You little..." you refrained from any harsh language but nonetheless, you grabbed him like one would do a squeaky toy. This was the third bite this week and you weren't going to suffer a fourth one. "You're getting the shame bucket."

You pull him out of the water, ignoring the protesting squeaks he was making as you walked all the way over to the bucket Crowley handed to you when he first gave you the three little squirts. Said something about it being enchanted? Eh, you don't know, you rarely listen to him unless it was something money related.

The water in it was as clean as ever and you had no problem sticking Floyd in there like a sponge. You sat down on a chair place right next to it, pulled out your phone and set the timer for a good thirty minutes. Torture for anyone else with short attention spans, but you had your phone for entertainment.

Floyd doesn't. Sure, he could try and jump out but his fins and strength were useless on land. One time he tired jumping out to get back in the tank but you just found him lying there, flopping around as he made angry little chirps before just, crawling back into the bucket to huff.

Like he's doing right now. His arms rested on the rim of the bright yellow bucket, his tail splashing around as he glared at you.

You narrowed your eyes. "You know the drill you little moray. Sit, behave and we'll both have a nice time."

You can say for sure that the shame bucket works because when you first got him, you'd have at least four bites every day. If there's one thing you know about Floyd, it's that he hates boredom more than anything.
