“You should’ve seen my face,” Anna’s eyebrows pinched together as she leaned back against the couch, her phone resting on her knee while she facetimed Ten. She was expecting Hoshi over at any minute but figured while she waited, she could answer Ten’s call from earlier.

“I was so mortified Tennie.” She patted the spot next to her for Honey to jump up and lay down beside her.

“I’m sure he knows it was an accident,” He frowned in sympathy, “And to be fair, he ran into you just as much as you did to him.”

“Yeah but-,” She pouted her lips, tilting her head back against the cushion to groan in what felt like agony, “I don’t know. I was just stupid.”

“No, don’t say that,” He stood up from where he was on his own couch, moving into his bedroom when his members started entering the dorm, “You’re the smartest person I know.”

“Thanks Tennie, I really do appreciate it,” She smacked a hand against her forehead, smiling down at Honey as she wiggled around on the couch, “We haven’t interacted much beforehand and the one time we’re face to face.”

She hears Ten chuckle on the other side of the screen and she honestly doesn’t blame him. It was such a ridiculous scenario that she was so upset over yet here she was. She glanced down at her phone when a message caused it to vibrate against her leg. Hoshi texted her that he had arrived and was on his way up.

“As much as I’d love to stay and talk, I have to sadly say goodbye. Hoshi is almost here and I promised that we’d go out to eat somewhere.”

“That’s good, maybe he’ll talk some sense into you since you won’t listen to me,” Ten brought his phone closer to his face to say goodbye properly with a smile on his face, “Have a nice meal! Eat lots and I’ll talk to you again soon Annie!” He waved at the camera as did she, disconnecting from the call.

She leaned forward to lay her phone on the coffee table, flopping back against the couch with a huff, rolling her head over to the side to look down at Honey who was laying on her back, wagging her tail now that she had Anna’s attention.

“Your favorite person is coming over,” Anna scratched at Honey’s stomach as she was laid out on the couch cushion belly up. Her tail thumped against the cushion as Anna spoke to her. She knew how excited Honey got as soon as he was to knock on the door.

Almost like she had spoken it into existence, three knocks sounded at the door sending Honey flying off the couch to bark at whoever was on the other side. Anna quickly moved to the door, smiling at Hoshi as she let him inside, using her foot to gently keep Honey from bolting out into the hallway.

“Honey, I got you a present,” Hoshi’s voice was higher pitched as he spoke, digging into the bag resting in the crease of his elbow. He pulled out a little paw shaped cookie, feeding it to the dog waiting patiently at his feet. She happily accepted the treat, taking the cookie a few steps away to enjoy.

“She’s getting into the habit of wanting a treat every time I come home now thanks to you,” Anna grabbed the bag from Hoshi as he toed off his shoes and took off his coat, bringing it into the living room and setting it down on the coffee table.

“I passed by a little pet bakery on the way here and I had to stop in,” He defended himself with a raise of his hands, “You’re basically like my sister at this point, and that would make Honey like my niece. So, I’m going to treat her well every time I come over and you can’t stop me.” Anna rolled her eyes watching him as he washed his hands in the kitchen.

“Speaking of treating, this was supposed to be my turn to pay for the meal. We were supposed to go out,” Anna whined as she pulled out the boxes of fried chicken, two bottles of beer, and a container of spicy tteokbokki. Her favorites.

Hoshi cheekily smiled at her as he settled down on the floor, rubbing his hands together as his stomach grumbled hungrily, “You needed a pick me up so I got some of your favorites.”

Anna looked at him with a whine as she bit into the chicken, savoring the taste. He always knew how and what to do to pick her up out of a slump. She set the chicken down in the box, standing up quickly to retrieve the napkins she had forgotten to grab, handing a few off to him as she sat back down.

The two enjoyed the meal, talking about each other’s group and what upcoming activities planned. She was finding different things to talk about to stall, dreading bringing up what had happened backstage with Joshua and simply not wanting to go back to the memory but knowing deep down that she should. Hoshi was closer to him after all.

“Please tell me you told Jisoo I was so sorry about the other day,” Her eyebrows pinched together as she looked over at Hoshi. It was so cliché and she felt so stupid to even bring her coffee with her. It was all just one big mess from the get-go.

“Youngmi-ah,” He started, wiping his mouth with his napkin before speaking again, “I promise you he feels even worse.”

“He does?”

“Trust me when I say that’s all he talked about at practice. He couldn’t think straight and kept missing simple steps and making small mistakes that he almost never makes. Hell, he almost ran out to go buy you a new shirt since he ruined your other one so badly,” He took a swig from his bottle as Anna stared at him with wide eyes.

“But I-.”

She clamped her mouth shut when he held up a hand, a smirk playing on his lips, “He wants to meet up with you Youngmi, like really soon.”

A blush dusted her cheeks at the words. Soon? Her features softened the more she thought about it, Hoshi smiling and nodding his head as she put the idea together. She couldn’t help but feel all giddy inside.

“What does he mean by soon?” She welcomed Honey onto her lap, smoothing down her coat from where she had wriggled around on her dog bed.

“He said anytime that you’re free!”

“Did he mention where we would meet up?”

“There’s this new café that opened up not too far from here actually. We were talking about going to it the other day but we never made it over there before practice started.”

Anna nodded her head as started gathering their trash into the bag, “Oh yeah I think I’ve heard of it before. I can have Jihyo take me over there, did he mention a time at all?” She bit the inside of her cheek, suddenly being overcome with a wave of nervousness.

“I’ll have to get back to you on that.”

[Later that day]

“Shua-hyung,” Hoshi walked across the practice room with his hands clasped behind his back, smiling widely at the older sat against the wall.

Joshua picked his head up from his phone and smiled at Hoshi as he came closer, watching as he spun around and sat next to him on the floor, “What’s up?”

“There’s a new café close by opening up soon and I wanted to go check it out but no one else wants to go,” He brought a knee up and rested his arm against it. His lips formed a pout as he played with the hem of his shorts, “Can you please go with me.”

“I’m down! When are we going?”

“We’re free from schedules tomorrow right? How about then, maybe noon-ish?”

“Sure! Just text me tomorrow morning on where to be.”

“Hyung, you’re the best,” Hoshi giggled, giving Joshua a side hug, pushing himself off of the floor, “You’ll like it, I’m sure.”

He gave one last smile, turning on his heels and walking away from him, pulling out his phone and sending a text to Anna. She replied with two thumbs up and a kissy face. Hoshi giggled to himself as he slid his phone back into his pocket, doing a little dance in the back of his head. His plan to get them together was officially set into action. If they weren’t going to, than it was his mission as their best friend to help.
