Netizens Defend ATEEZ’s Juliet After Her Alleged Ex-Boyfriend Shades Her On Instagram

On December 1, ATEEZ made their comeback with the album THE WORLD EP.FIN : WILL. Most notably, the album featured unit and solo songs by the members, which excited fans as they showed the members’ unique styles. Juliet’s song, titled Sweet Killer, was praised by listeners for its concept and songwriting, and is even charting on MelOn upon its release.

A few days later, a post on the online platform Pann Nate went viral, amassing over 100,000 views and 500 comments. The post, titled ATEEZ Juliet’s ex-boyfriend’s insta is weird, shows a series of now-deleted Instagram stories by a dancer named Kim Seojun.

In one post, the dancer types over a black background: People are so f*cking ridiculous these days. Why are you writing a song about something that happened years ago and playing the victim? F*ck. In the following stories, the dancer also posted photos of himself with a masked girl, allegedly Juliet, to prove that he was indeed in a relationship with the idol in 2019.

As Sweet Killer is about a romantic interest who played with others’ feelings, netizens were quick to theorise that the dancer was referring to Juliet in his stories. After receiving criticism for making the posts about her unprovoked, Seojun deleted his stories and turned his Instagram account to private.

Comments from the Pann post express disbelief and disgust over the dancer’s actions, pointing out he had no reason to expose their past relationship when she never mentioned him by name.

“But the lyrics aren’t even specific enough to point to him. If he just stayed quiet, people would just think it’s another love song”

“No but why is he exposing himself ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ”

“Assuming her lyrics are telling the truth, it doesn’t even sound like they were in an actual relationship????? It sounds more like he gave her mixed signals and then dumped her..”

“It’s weirder that he kept their photos from 2019…seems like he’s the one who wants to drag up the past”

“No but the song is f*cking good and doing well on the charts so he should be honoured”

“She didn’t say who the song is about… so if the shoe fits……”

“He accused her of bringing up the past but then randomly posted photos of her, f*cking crazy”

“She’s successful now and in a good relationship, of course he’s jealous”

“Seojun-ah, no one would know the song is about you if you just shut up ㅋㅋ”

“Is he trying to get his fifteen minutes of fame from this?? Ah… stay strong our Julie”

At the moment, neither KQ Entertainment nor Juliet has responded to this matter.

When SEVENTEEN's Seoah was asked about her work for the new year, she revealed that she's going to release monthly singles in 2024!

Every first of the month I'm going to release a digital single and in June and December, there'll be a two part compilation album with all of the songs. And I'll be promoting in those two months as well." "I'm also pretty sure I wasn't supposed to say anything but whatever! I'm a nine year old idol. I can say whatever~ So yes, please look forward to January 1st!"

Pledis Entertainment made an announcement a couple of hours later, confirming Seoah's words.
