Four people were shot, including two bystanders and an NYPD officer, after two Brooklyn cops opened fire on a suspect allegedly armed with a

NYPD chase a man for fare evasion, tase him, become “aware of a knife” and then started blasting, hitting a cop, and two bystanders (one in the head) before getting this guy. Backtracking with “well this guy has done xyz before”, the cops didn’t know that. They frantically looked him up so they could justify a mass shooting of New Yorkers.

They drew guns over skipping the fare. They fired at anything that moved when they thought he had a knife. No confirmation that he even did have a knife.

Appalling.

When I was a kid I would volunteer at the VFW and old folks homes in town. I hated it, but seeing the way some of these people who have lived in war zones and have experienced first hand war violence are fascinating.

I think the Crystal Jems in Steven Universe really hit in the head the way veterans act. Like they know %100 that there better than everyone, but try to hide their superiority.

Also the way PTSD affects different people. Amethyst is a loud obnoxious drunk. Garnet is Stoic. Opal is super high strung and probably sleeps 3-4 hours a night because that's their life now.

One day I hope they will make it legal for veterans(and by proxy everyone else) to access alternative forms of therapy like drugs that are currently illegal.

I realize that people make human AU Pearl young and stuff b/c it’s more relatable but please consider with me that human Pearl would be the weird ex-military neighbor who wakes up at 5 am every morning and calls the cops if the recycling truck leaves the bin in front of her mailbox and keeps to herself a lot and breaks out a leaf blower half the size of her body to sweep 6 maple seedpods of her front sidewalk. She’s got Rose’s flag hanging on one of those brackets on the porch. Every week or so her son comes over for dinner and promises the neighbor kids that his mom’s super nice if you get to know her she just likes everything just so and meanwhile she’s leaning out the screen door like “steven move the bin out of the way of the mailbox” “okay” “that’s a federal offense you know” “i know you tell me every time i’m here”
