The Fanclub: chapter one

↪︎ Yandere! BTS

The Fanclub: Chapter One

↪︎You're enrolled in a new school, complete with new rules, new faces, and new enemies. If only you hadn't run into him. If only you hadn't met them. Too bad, they've been chasing you since the start.

Warnings: yandere themes, injuries, language

Words: 3.5k

Finally! This one's pretty short, but the next chapters should be longer. Very excited to actually be posting it though haha, finally finally! Will edit later too

You burst the door open, ignoring the alarmed looks from the nurses around you, heavy pants leaving your mouth as you finally allow yourself to catch your breath. “Beomgyu!”

He sits on the hospital bed, propped up. His leg is lifted up in a cast, there are bandages everywhere, bruises littered in the few patches of skin you can still see. He’s got a black eye, a bust lip, about every injury you could imagine. But he still smiles wide when he sees you, chuckling slightly. “Did you run all the way here just for me? Aww, you love me!”

“Dick.” You huff, still catching your breath. “I ran all the way here for you, and that’s how you greet me? You’re lucky I do love you.”

Beomgyu laughs again, and you do your best to ignore the way his smile curls down after each laugh, the way his eyes scrunch up into a wince. You can tell he’s trying to hide it, as if it doesn’t already look bad enough. You can’t believe this happened.

You grab a chair, dragging it along the floor to sit beside his bed. You’re not risking sitting on the bed, the movement will, likely, only worsen his injuries. “So? Tell me what happened, and who I need to put in a bodybag. Unless you’ve already handled that, of course.”

He nods, cocky, “You know me, I’ve already called my guys on him. Got him stuffed in a trunk and ready to go.” Your laugh is momentary. “I’d say you should see the other guy, but I’m afraid I’m the other guy in this case, don’t think he got more than a scratch on his face, honestly. Though, you’ll be proud of me! I didn’t pick this fight. It was all him.”

You frown, resting a hand on his. It’s colder than usual, it’s scary. You swallow. “So why’d he mess you up so badly? What on earth could’ve offended him so much that he felt the need to put you in hospital? I’m worried, Beomgyu, what kind of places are you going that people will do this kind of thing unprovoked?”

The smile finally falls off his face. You notice his eyes remain the same- his smiles before were faked, you knew that, you did, but it still pains you to see the proof of it.

Beomgyu reaches his hand over yours to comfort you, it’s funny, he’s the one in pain, he’s the one injured, and yet he’s comforting you.

“I swear, I was in a nice area, delivering to a real fancy apartment, but I ran into this guy on the way. He was mad that I was in his way, or something, and I did try to just apologise and go, but he wouldn’t have it. He started mocking me, he threw the delivery- and, that got to me, I guess. Then we started fighting and…he won…as you can see.” He glances down miserably.

“Okay. It’s not your fault at all then, this rests entirely on the piece of shit that took whatever problems he was having out on you. We’ll file a report, get him punished for this.” You sigh, “People like that, they think they can get away with things like this just because they’re-”

“Rich?” A new voice comes from the doorway.

You notice Beomgyu tense up, and whirl around with fury. This is the asshole who hurt him, who beat him senseless, no apparent reason at all. He looks rich, the school uniform is one you vaguely recognise. Not that he’s wearing it properly. He seems to have taken the liberty of adding his own jumper, and shoes you’ve seen people gush over online- branded, well above what you could afford.

And the most striking thing about him: his hair is purple. You know full well your school wouldn’t allow that, and you had thought private schools were strict on uniforms too. Maybe not. Or, maybe he just ignores them. Along with ignoring basic human decency.

“A common misconception.” he smirks, the movement lifeless. Yet, it adds something to his otherwise statue-like face, handsome, for sure, but blank. Now it’s cocky, looking rather punchable. “It’s actually the connections I have that assure me I’ll get away with this, but I suppose they’re because of the money, you know- ah, no, you wouldn’t, would you?”

“Shut up.” You growl out, furious. It’s no wonder Beomgyu eventually gave in to starting a fight. You’re just itching to slap the smirk off of his face.

“Mm, exactly what I was going to say to you, darling. I’m here to talk with him.” He waves a little at Beomgyu, clearly teasing. You hate it, you hate him. You step in front of him, doing your best to block his view. You’re not letting him anywhere near your friend. He huffs, annoyed. “Fine. Since your little guard dog here is so aggressive, I’ll just say it. I’m pressing charges.”

You shriek, outraged, “For what?!”

The guy laughs, “For assault, obviously. Look, I’ve been hurt.” He points to a tiny scratch on the side of his face, you hadn’t even noticed it before.

“He’s the one in the hospital! Look at him! You’re pressing charges for assault for that little paper cut on your face, we might as well press charges for murder!”

He finally makes eye contact with you, his eyes are just as lifeless as the rest of him. But the smug tone in his voice is all you can hear, all you can sense. “Darling, what’s your name? I’m feeling a little intimidated.” His cocky smile says he’s anything but intimidated. “I just need to know so I can mention you in my report as well.”

You don’t falter, matching his cocky grin, “Y/n L/n. Be sure to send them my way, so I can explain what really happened. Now, your name, you know, for our own report?”

“Kim Seokjin. Though, darling, I don't think mentioning my name will help you the way you think it will.” He laughs a little, “Be sure to let me know how it goes.”

“I’m going to ruin your life, I swear.” You growl out.

He laughs again, “Not if I ruin yours first. We’ll see who wins, shall we? I see your friend isn’t ready to talk yet, but so long as he’s got his energy back for his confession, it should be okay. I’ll see you both in court.”

You sanrl, “I’ll gladly go to court if it means I’ve rid the world of a guy like you.”

Seokjin turns and leaves with another mocking wave, not even bothering to acknowledge your comment. You wish that meant it had affected him, but you’re not so hopeful.

“Y/n…”

You turn back to Beomgyu, allowing your anger to dissipate, if only for his sake. You know that scared him- what’s more terrifying than the very man who put you in such a state coming back, when you’re completely vulnerable?

“Don’t.” You speak softly, hoping you get your message across nonetheless.

He shakes his head, “No, I have to. Now you’re involved in this, and he’s after you too. I…I’m really sorry. You shouldn't have to stand up for me like that, and-”

“I shouldn’t have to, you’re right. Because people like him shouldn’t exist. Things like this shouldn’t happen. What does he mean, he’s going to report you? That’s bullshit! No way he’ll win that one, no matter how many connections he has.”

“Still, I’m sorry.”

You shake your head, slipping back onto the seat you had before. “I would do the same thing again, every time. Don’t apologise for him. But let’s forget about that now! I came here to cheer you up, so, let’s see what’s on TV? I’m thinking a trashy reality show is perfect right now.”

He plays along, “The very best this room has to offer.”

--------------

By the time you get home you’re fairly certain you’ve managed to cheer Beomgyu up. He has to stay in hospital, which worries you, but you’ve brought some clothes and as much as you could to entertain him. You also managed to hassle the nurses enough that they promised to keep an eye on visitors to his room; you don’t want another incident. Especially if you can’t be there.

When you walk in you find your parents gathered around the table. The food is ready, pot placed on the side. But they sit almost deathly still. It’s an unnerving image.

It’s when they turn to you, faces tense, that you suspect something really might be wrong. The greeting falls limp from your lips.

“Y/n, sit down.” Your dad starts. Something is very, very wrong here.

You do so quickly, looking between the pair for some kind of a clue as to what’s going on.

“We got a call earlier,” You mom says, voice strained, like it’s difficult for her to say. You’re worried, so worried. “From your school, and…you’ve been expelled.”

You cry, “What?!”

“We were shocked too, I’m sure you can imagine.” Your dad sighs. “We know the company you’ve been keeping isn’t the best influence, and maybe they aren’t model students, but we never expected you to get caught up in their behavior.”

You narrow your eyes. “Wait. What behavior is this?”

Your dad keeps talking, “There was a report of you getting into fights with students from another school, one was particularly injured, and brought this to the attention of your headmaster. They felt it best that you were punished this way.”

You laugh humorlessly, “Oh, I get it. He was quicker than I thought. Ha. I can explain this.”

“Please.” Your mom pleads, “I need to know why you did it.”

“Well, I didn’t.” You state. “Beomgyu was attacked by this guy while he was working. I went to visit him in the hospital. His condition…it’s horrible. Then, the monster that did that to him came to visit as well, he said he was going to press charges for assault- he barely had a single scratch on him. I argued with him, and I guess that pissed him off, because he threatened to press charges against me as well. And…I guess he did.”

“Do you know his name? We should file a report.” Your mom urges.

“Yeah, I was going to. Kim Seokjin.”

“Ah.” They sigh, suddenly looking defeated.

You groan, “Seriously? Just because he’s rich and powerful, doesn’t mean we can let him get away with this! Otherwise he’ll just keep ruining lives. You should’ve seen what he’s done to Beomgyu…it’s…it’s not fair.”

“Y/n, we’ll keep talking about this, okay?” Your mom smiles, it’s strained. You’re getting real sick of seeing these fake smiles. “You should get some rest, tomorrow, we’ll file a report. You’re right, we shouldn’t just give up, but honestly, I don’t think we’re going to win this one. So rest.”

You sigh, nodding slowly. You’re still going to file that report. You’re not letting him get away with it completely. You just hope it works.

–-------------

You wake up early, especially for a saturday. But today is a big day.

First, you’re going to visit Beomgyu, update him on the situation. He needs to be prepared for when Seokjin inevitably does the same to him, if he hasn’t already. And you need to share your anger with him. And to see if he’s okay.

Then, you’re going to take the first step in taking Kim Seokjin down.

“Y/n, never thought I’d see you at this hour, let alone at the weekend,” Beomgyu chuckles, putting the book down on the table beside him.

“I just love you sooo much, I’m willing to be up and about before midday.” You grin, “Never thought you were much of a morning person either, though. I was a little worried you’d still be sleeping.”

Judging by the dark circles under his eyes, he hasn't done much of that at all. You’re worried.

“No, no.” He cheers, “There’s no sleeping to be done here. They like to come in and open up the curtains bright and early- plus, it’s pretty noisy all of the time.”

“I can imagine. But, promise me you will try to get some sleep, alright? I won’t stay for too long, so make sure you at least have a nap once I’m gone.” You stare at him, forcing eye contact until he finally nods. Success. “And the food?”

“It’s not bad, just…not the best.” He shrugs slightly. “But I didn’t expect it to be. And my mom promised to bring some food for me when they visit later.”

You nod, happy to hear that. But now you have to tell him the bad news. “Just so you’re prepared when your parents come…Seokjin went through with his promise. I’ve been expelled. I’m sure he’s planning the same for you, so I just wanted to warn you.”

“Shit.” Beomgyu looks guilty again. It’s not his fault, how many times do you have to say it? “What are we gonna do?”

“Well,” you look pointedly at him, “You’re going to stay here and recover. That’s all you should be focusing on right now, relax and heal, got it? I’ll sort something out for us both, since I’ve got all this extra time on my hands now, hah.”

He’s looking guilty again. You can practically smell the guilt leaking from him.

“Stop it! It’s not your fault. I don’t blame you at all, and you shouldn't either. Ah, right, that’s the other thing I’m going to be doing.” You pause, for dramatic effect. “Taking down Kim Seokjin, and maybe any pompous friends he has too.”

Beomgyu laughs, “He shouldn't have messed with you, Y/n L/n, he’ll suffer for it now!”

“Exactly right.” You wink. “He’ll rue the day he messed with my best friend, the whole world will know of his defeat.”

“Wow, you’re starting to sound just like them.”

“You little-”

“Ah! I’m your best friend! You love me! Don’t go throwing around words like that, when we both know you don’t mean it!” He laughs uncontrollably at your expression.

When the two of you finally cease laughing, you settle into a calm silence. You take the moment to look around the room. There’s not much to it, but the view out the window isn’t too bad.

It looks out onto a small garden, where the trees are bare with the winter cold, but there’s a small speckle of flowers still growing strong. You can hear the faint sound of birdsong, too. Looking carefully, you can just about make out a small clump in one of the trees. The nest.

You smile, it’s a nice view indeed. Not something you’re going to mention now, not when he can’t walk over to see it, even if he was interested. But the birdsong is comforting, it’s peaceful. You hope Beomgyu finds it just as pleasant.

The mood is broken as your stomach rumbles, you laugh silently.

Sheepish, you stand up, “I’m going to find some food, I think I saw a cafe nearby. I’ll bring something back for you too, anything you fancy?”

“Hmm, something sweet.” He decides. “Hospital food is far too healthy for me.”

“Got it. Don’t miss me too much.”

You manage to navigate through the hospital halls pretty much flawlessly, you’re proud. The first few times you’d visited, it had been a nightmare trying to find his room, trying not to get in the way.

Finding that cafe you swear you saw right outside might be more difficult. You exit the building, eyes pinned for the logo you remember. A sunshine, bright and happy beside a building filled with the opposite.

There! You walk along to the small building, just in the distance, the bright logo calling you over. Cafe Hope. It’s nice, it’s cute, and the theme surely appeals to anyone visiting the hospital. Hope is exactly what you need right now.

You walk in, noting the soft music. It’s pleasant, but not overbearingly loud. You like it.

You join the short queue, taking the time to look around the rest of the cafe. It’s decorated with a traditional theme, most of the furniture wooden and polished, but the yellow pops out, bringing the place alive.

It’s your turn now. You point to a sandwich for yourself, and two coffees. Something sweet…one of the cupcakes catches your eye, you know Beomgyu has a real love for anything chocolate, so you get that too. The barista grabs everything for you quickly, smiling politely as you thank them.

Now, back to Beomgyu.

It’s a little harder to return while you’re carrying things, but most of the doors are automatic, thankfully. And you take extra care up the stairs with the coffees, not wanting anything to go to waste. Or to spill it on the stairs. That wouldn’t be good either.

You manage, rejoicing silently as you find yourself in the corridor you know leads to Beomgyu’s room. The walk feels shorter each time, as you get used to the layout, used to staying out of people’s way.

You freeze.

There’s voices inside the room. It could be his parents, or a doctor, but it worries you. Thoughts of Seokjin returning taunt you.

You shove the door with your back, preparing yourself to fight him off.

It’s…not Seokjin.

The man is talking with Beomgyu, who doesn’t seem uncomfortable with it, which is a good sign. You shuffle closer, setting the drinks and food down on the table. You turn your gaze to the newcomer, suspicious.

He’s got the same uniform as Seokjin did. You note, this is how it’s supposed to be worn. Clean black shoes, tie tightened neatly, shirt tucked in. But his hair is dyed grey- obviously the school has no policy on hair dye.

“What are you doing here?” You narrow your eyes at him.

The man smiles, it’s not faked, it seems genuinely friendly. Kind, even. “I’m Namjoon. I…saw what happened the other day, and I came to see how Beomgyu’s doing.”

Beomgyu speaks up, grabbing your hand carefully. “Y/n, he pulled Seokjin away. Before he could…do any more…damage.”

Namjoon’s smile falters. “Yes, I wish I’d stepped in sooner, honestly. I’m sorry I didn’t. It’s been bothering me since, so I had to come and see you.”

Beomgyu nods, smiling.

You’re less suspicious, yes, but you’re not about to let your guard down around this guy.

“I brought this for you.” You offer Beomgyu the cupcake, and he lights up, excited. “And coffee!”

“I can’t…Sorry, should’ve said, I can’t have coffee right now.” He laughs it off, awkward.

You shake your head, “No, I should’ve thought of that. Well,” You turn to Namjoon. “You’re sure you’re not in league with Seokjin?”

He chuckles, “No one is.”

You nod, approving, and hand him your extra coffee. He thanks you quietly, staring at the drink for a long moment before he finally takes a sip. Maybe he thought it would be too hot.

“So,” Namjoon speaks up again, “After the fight, Seokjin was talking about ruining lives and such, I…uh, has he done anything since?”

“He came to threaten me yesterday.” Beomgyu admits. Namjoon’s eyes widen in horror.  “Y/n was here at the time, so I…unfortunately, I got her dragged into it. He had her expelled, I’m not sure about me yet, but I bet he did the same to me. But it’s Y/n that I’m worried about. I…I’m going to be stuck here for a while longer, I won't be going to school anyway, but you…”

“I already told you to stop worrying about it.” You scold him gently. You look at Namjoon, expecting him to agree with you, but he seems occupied with something out the window.

“If you’re concerned I may have a solution.” Namjoon offers, brows furrowed, still looking out the window. “I’m the student president, so I think I might be able to get you enrolled in the school.”

“Seokjin’s school.” You hum.

“I’m afraid so.” He looks sympathetic. “But you’d have the uniform and transport, if you need it, and I promise you won’t see him around, he doesn’t really bother with lessons.”

“My parents would be a lot happier if I was back at school,”

“It’s a fancy school too, isn't it?” Beomgyu chimes in, “Y/n, they’d be even happier than before.”

You sigh, nodding, he’s right. They’d be overjoyed. “Okay, thank you, Namjoon.”

He chokes on his coffee suddenly, spluttering. “Excuse me.”

“But, you can get both of us in right? Once Beomgyu’s better?”

Namjoon pauses, looking up at the both of you. He smiles, “Of course. Once he’s better.”

Your foot is throbbing – again.

You fall back into bed, lifting your leg up to rest it over your knee. You wince as you examine the damage, purple and yellow bruising covering your swollen ankle. Lightly pressing around the area, you’re relieved to find that it only seems to be slightly sprained.

You glance over at your bedside table as your alarm goes off again, the framed picture next to your phone catching your attention as you silence the shrill sound. It’s a photo of you and Heejun, your next-door neighbour turned best friend. This particular one was taken on the night before he turned eighteen, your grinning faces showing off the pure excitement you both felt at the time.

Ever since you were little, even before you met Heejun, you’ve always dreamed about meeting your soulmate. You’ve lost count of the endless nights you stayed up imagining what kind of mark you would find once you woke up on your 18th birthday. Your favourite was always discovering a note written on your arm – the same as your parents. A close runner-up was the countdown mark Heejun had, you always made sure to check in with him every day to watch as the time suddenly decreased or increased. You’ll never forget the day he called you, voice choked up with tears and joy as he told you he had finally bumped into his soulmate.

With thousands of different variants of soulmarks and new ones being reported every day, you always thought you would end up with something sweet, something fitting to the fairy tale you always wanted. You certainly weren’t expecting to wake up to a searing hurt in your arm, the phantom pain of a dislocated shoulder and forearm fracture sticking with you for weeks afterwards.

Wicked 1

To be a princess, is that of obtaining and following duty whenever it calls. Whether you agree with it or not is of none concern to no one, even yourself to an extent. There were many times in your life when you could assume that, if you felt strong enough about a situation, eventually, your parents would sit you down and work something out that was, at the very least, comparable.

Those times were few and far in between as you often understood that you had to do things, even if you didn’t personally want to, from a young age that you could no longer remember. But still, to be told this. It was a laughable matter at the time, you were so shocked that you couldn’t even fully believe it, it was two years ago after all. But for the day to have finally come.

For the little bubble you had sheltered yourself in, to pop.

It was laughable only at how pathetic you were, you had two years to prepare. And yet here you were, still in denial and even more bitter than before. You had cried, begged your parents for some other alternative, but low and behold, they could only look at you with pity in their eyes. After all, what good was a daughter outside of selling off in marriage?

“Mmm, is something wrong, my love?” Your heart beat had risen and your hands were a little too shaky, was it because you were naturally shy during such activities as these? Or was it the shame cast over you? This was the day you’d meet him, and you were currently in your room doing this.
