[ID: a screenshot of a poem that reads:
to be a wild rabbit
is to be the most killable thing in the world and
one must imagine that
the rabbits understand this
for what else could explain how they live
their whole lives as if they
are about to die
to be a wild rabbit
is to be defined by the ability to flee and to be
blessed with long ears with which to
hear your hunters and
strong legs all the better to
run with and
a life driven by adrenaline and the cold sharp rush of panic
to be a wild rabbit
is to run until you cannot run anymore and
then to look into the eyes of God
or the wolf there is
no difference to you and
to await your death with the rage that
only something as hunted as you can feel
to be a wild rabbit
is to understand your life as
a single mad dash for
survival all narrowing to one knife-sharp point and most of
all it is to know that
there are only two things that exist
in the world and they are
Fear,
and the mouth of God waiting to
devour you whole.

I’ve started getting all surprised and jumpy when people actually use they/them for me. You heard I had to sets of pronouns? And you didn’t just pick the easy one? I’m shocked beyond words.
The stigma of self-inserts is so harmful to the creative process. Relax. Admit it. Everything you make is derivative of yourself, always, no exceptions. You can turn the mirror into tinier and tinier shards or you can make it as big as you want to reflect as much as you want. At the end of the day it's always going to show you inside of it. Pretending otherwise is stupid.
i loooooove giving my ocs perpetrator trauma. you hurt people, used and abused and destroyed them, and you will never wash out that stain. you will grow resentful of forgiveness because you refuse to forgive yourself. they don't know what you did like you do. you wear that knowledge like armor, like a sick badge of shameful pride. you can't cut off the hand that struck out and throw it away. you can't pull out your teeth and become something kinder, something more vulnerable.
