So. There is barely anything on Madness combat Phobos on this app.

So me, being the good person I am, (that's a complete lie) decided to make some nice little art for y'all Phobos enjoyers.

Imagine you get Phobos to take off his bandages.

Against all odds, YOU, got the Great Powerful Phobos, feared by many, to trust you enough to reveal his face to you. Perhaps you just showed him some kindness, something very few do. Perhaps you simply just asked.

Or perhaps he's taken a liking to you for a while now he had a little crush on you.

Nonetheless, he called you into his office, you walked in and there's no one there. No one but the Director near the corner. He beckons you closer, before slowly moving most of his bandages, removing a few as well.

Silence.

He was panicking on the inside, and not just because he felt so exposed, but because you were so…so unreadable! You held no emotion in your stare, did you think he was ugly?! Were you so repulsed by his face that you weren't saying anything? He couldn't tell, and he felt his face getting hotter by the second. The more you stared the more his nerves grew, eating away at his mind. They think you're hideous! The little voice in the back of his head spoke. The voice was about to go on and on but then.

Step

You stepped forward.

Step

Again.

Phobos was even more worried now, walking backwards in sync with your footsteps toward him.

Until.

Thud

His back hit the wall.

Then your arm extended forward, fast enough for Phobos to finch.

The little voice in the back of his head told him it was disgraceful to flinch at that, but Phobos ignored it, too focused on what the hell you were doing

After leaning closer, (and the blush on Phobos's face growing even more) you finally spoke.

"Phobos, darling, why didn't you tell me you had such a handsome face earlier?"

That, accompanied with the smirk on your lips, made him turn bright red. A part of him wished he had his bandages back on to cover the blush like before, but the other part of him was glad he was freed from that prison.

His thoughts were running wild, a part of him getting upset at you.

HE WAS A GOD, HOW DARE SUCH AN INSIGNIFICANT MORTAL LIKE YOU SAY SUCH THINGS, yet, his body betrayed him at he felt himself slump down a bit, his knees feeling weak at your words, and his stomach felt like it was on a roller coaster. And he could only hope you didn't hear how loud his heart was thumping, feeling it beat faster and faster.

His mouth turned into a scowl.

He wanted to yell at you for saying such things, but his mouth couldn't open, it felt like it was sealed shut.

And all he could do was hope you either took mercy on him and stepped back.

Or the thing he REALLY WANTED, you take it a step further and kiss him already.

But like, could you imagine the other mercs drinking it? Say Scout puts it in the coffee pot as a joke. Thinking nothing of this crime hes about to commit against humanity (bonus points if he fills up the water portion of the coffee pot with pure BONK!)

Theyd be off the fucking walls, so much would be destroyed, Scout would be running for the hills in fear because man has he seen some shit but this? This is a horror movie in its truest form to him. Do you know how terrifying feral Engie and feral Heavy would be? Heavy can take down bears with his bare hands and Engie? Mans has 11 Phd's. Hes a mad scientist in his own right but he manages just to hold himself back and be polite and seem calm. The world would be on fire if Engie just let loose.

In case anyone is ever worried that you are cheating, my tweet has over 1k replies of other artists saying that they do this too. Tracing over reference pictures is a fine way to learn. Sketching over reference pictures is completely fine. Frankensteining reference images together is fine. There are both professionals and novices saying that they do this too.

Use your resources. There’s no shame in it! I’ve been a professional concept artist for over five years now and we do this all the time.
