One Of The Worst Parts Of Current Internet Culture Is That It Makes Good Old Fashioned Complaining So
One of the worst parts of current internet culture is that it makes good old fashioned complaining so difficult. I don’t wanna cancel anyone or bully anyone, I’m not trying to form a hate mob I’m not calling anyone out, i just wanna bitch about something. Because complaining is fun, good for you, even. Is that too much to ask? Where is the room for shooting the shit?

happy sunday!!!! we have a parturient today so my partner and I are doing shifts every 3 hours to monitor the fetal heart rate and contractions of the baby. it’s my turn now to labor watch until 1pm, then I’ll probably study again. did a serious study session in the OR pantry from 7am-10am because I wasn’t able to study yesterday.
I did self-care stuff and pampered myself (got a facial, hair treatment, etc etc) which I thoroughly enjoyed!!!! the bliss of taking care of one’s self to a date. I also cleaned my condo unit and did a huuuuge chunk of laundry and that made me very happy!
for tonight I’ll probably go through what I studied today, revalida style, fold clothes, and maybe gym or study some more whichever I’ll be in the mood for tonight. good things, good things. last 14 days of clerkship!!!!
most annoying trait from what i see as a millenial book girlie culture is "love of books" not as love of reading but as adoration for the physical object. an e-book, a library book or an audiobook don't have the same value because you can't display them forever for others to see. full shelves of unread titles are a symbol of status. annotating your own books is a crime. using old books in art projects like collages is guaranteed to earn you "as a reader this pains me" comments. i love buying a beautiful edition as much as anyone else but man the consumption mentality here is tiresome

hey this is a really really really amazing video and it goes over like all the talking points of societal fatphobia and why it's all bullshit and rooted in racism and ableism and a bunch of other stuff. It covers SO many different topics relating to fatness/fatphobia and Mickey Atkins put a ton of work into it (plus they're a licensed clinician and a fat person who knows what she's talking about). If you have a few hours and you wanna put somethin on in the background, please do so with this video!!
