Here’s a reason why I would choose

John Doe

Over Peter

and why Doe is better

⚠️⚠️SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO DOESN’T KNOW ABOUT ALL THE ENDINGS/THE GAME “JOHN DOE”⚠️⚠️

Anyways…now that I’ve given a warning, here it goes

If I was forced to choose between being stuck with Peter or John Doe, I’d instantly choose Doe without hesitation

Why? Because Doe seems to really care about what you think of him despite his creepy vibe and actions and I say that because if you’ve seen the gameplay or have played the game then you know that if you continue to play, you’ll come across Doe but he looks normal and not his usual creepy looking self. There is also a scene with this version of Doe where if you continue to reject him he gets very upset and sad. As soon as you get inside your house he’s there, wondering why you continued to reject him saying something along the lines of “I…I did everything right….I did everything I thought you would like”

Btw this is the form he changes into to make you comfortable and not to scare you off. This is just proof that he cares about what you think and if you’re comfortable….that is until he thinks it’s okay for you and him to “get to know eachother a little better”—If you know what I’m talking about, good job! If you don’t, basically it’s where you accept and let him come home with you only for him to think it’s okay to show you his creepy normal self

Now, if you know the game well enough, you notice it’s a sort of time loop. Your character doesn’t seem to notice or even know their in a time loop/continuous routine but Doe knows. And if you know most of the endings…they’re not all good but this could mean that Doe knows you’re just gonna be alive the next day. He’s learning from his mistakes, seeing what could attract you to him and he changes for you! He changes himself completely for you, he cuts off his creepy tendencies to make you comfortable and there’s also the decision of you deciding to let him into your house. In that ending, there is a part where you offer to get him a snack from the kitchen. He immediately stops you from going because he knows what’s in there aka the weird gooey bloody mess on the floor.

Also, unlike Peter, Doe CAN take No for an answer as there is the “Doe lost interest” ending if you reject him. He just decided he wasn’t gonna pursue you.

There is the other three endings though that you might be wondering “uhhh but he also did this” and I know but I like I said previously, he learns from his mistakes to make you comfortable and attract you to him.

Now, this is not to excuse the other endings but you have to consider that Doe knows he’s in a game and it’s pretty lonely. There’s no other characters besides you and him, there COULD be other people that Doe knows but you don’t but that hasn’t been established and it just seems like only you and Doe exist in the game. Onto my point, it can get lonely and maybe the only reason why he’s so insane looking is because he’s just so awfully lonely and like the Abandoned ending proves, he hates being in the game but he loves you and he also doesn’t like to be alone (I saw it from somewhere that he doesn’t like to be alone, cannot prove if it’s canon but I’m assuming seeing as he pursues you and it literally is just you and him)

In conclusion, I’d choose Doe over Peter because he’s just better in every way. He would change himself for you. Plus, I like his vibe and style. He’s cute in my opinion. I find both his creepy appearance AND his other ‘normal’ appearance very attractive. That’s my opinion btw, I understand if no one feels the same but he’s a cute skrunkly man
