So apparently KOSA (2024 edition) is getting either thrown out until next year or put into effect in six days.

Update that's going in the main post at the top: it has enough support to pass.

It failed the last two times because people were voting against it.

This time, KOSA has traction among the pro-LGBTQ parties. Because nobody is fucking calling their bullshit and screaming from the rooftops that calling it the "Kids Online Safety Act" is misleading.

What will it passing do?

Nothing much, only prevent any education on LGBTQIA+ (it's that stupid fucking argument about us grooming kids again), shut down nearly every fandom space on the internet, and make it required for most big tech companies to have your ID.

Want to have resources for kids to discover their identity readily available? Yes? Then fucking speak up against this stupid fucking bill.

Fandom spaces like Tumblr, Twitter (? I thought the MAGA assholes liked Musk?), Tiktok, Archive Of Our Own, and any other website that hosts fanfic or fanart? Either shut down permanently, forced to uproot to a different country and down for a while (best case scenario, and they likely won't be able to send any data, and therefore fanfics, to the US), or gutted so that you only get to put G rated cishet ships on there, if any shipping at all. How to avoid that? I've already said it: Call your fucking representatives.

Want to avoid the fucking dystopic task of being legally obligated to give big tech your government issue ID? Again, cause an uproar. Call your goddamned representatives.

If they can pass this, the ripple effects could be catastrophic.

So, for fuck's sake, any Americans that can impact this stupid fucking bill and see this? Do everything in your power to shut it down because you have until February twenty sixth (26th) to send this bill back to where it belongs.

And if you can't do that? Reblog, copy my tags, and boost the signal.

Sorry not sorry for ranting, making you scroll through that, and swearing a probably excessive amount, but KOSA is a bill with a GLOBAL IMPACT being passed by ONE COUNTRY because some old people are scared of two guys with who were told they were girls kissing within five hundred miles of a child. Fuck this shit, I shouldn't have to worry about bad bills in America but I fucking do because I use the internet and would like to avoid mass censorship. Fuck this, fuck conservatives, and fuck the fact that some boomers make your country's policies.

Now, if you won't mind me, I'm going to be up until three in the morning downloading fanfiction or copying and pasting them into a a text file if I can't so I can read them by the end of the week.

Warframe Thoughts

I really, really hope that the Kalymos Protocol boils down to Albrecht Entrati leaving a footnote in the Grimoire for Loid that says "I know shit has gotten extremely real and I know you can handle it, dear, but please also make sure to feed the cat at 9am."

So I Have Taken Near-for-EVER To Get This Thing Up And Running, And While I Shake The Dust Off, I Figure

So I have taken near-for-EVER to get this thing up and running, and while I shake the dust off, I figure I’d show a piece of the thing I vowed I’d get started for 2023.

Have some concept art of my Mewtwo for a story @mooncat-witch and I have been working on for....ages, now. We had it just between us for ages but now I’ve kinda found Mewtwo to be my comfort-draw, so why not just illustrate the story?

This is my take on Mewtwo, a somewhat calmer variant with a touch of cunning and technical know-how, but no less aggressive and capable than the canon version. Compared to standard Mewtwo sizes he’s actually a good measure taller, lending to his genetic history, but there’ll be more on that later. This version of Mewtwo actually managed to trap and eliminate Giovanni proper, ensuring what is a measurable collapse of Team Rocket - but more on that in the story!

I have a lot to develop with him, and am excited to share! First page of the comic is in the works, but work’s made that a bit of slow going.

As well, a shoutout goes to @xxtc-96xx for giving us the inspo to actually start developing these beans! Their comic is an absolute blast to read, and definitely gave us the motivation to develop our own!

Things Biden and the Democrats did, this week.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau put forward a new regulation to limit bank overdraft fees. The CFPB pointed out that the average overdraft fee is $35 even though majority of overdrafts are under $26 and paid back with-in 3 days. The new regulation will push overdraft fees down to as little as $3 and not more than $14, saving the American public collectively 3.5 billion dollars a year.

The Environmental Protection Agency put forward a regulation to fine oil and gas companies for emitting methane. Methane is the second most abundant greenhouse gas, after CO2 and is responsible for 30% of the rise of global temperatures. This represents the first time the federal government has taxed a greenhouse gas. The EPA believes this rule will help reduce methane emissions by 80%

The Energy Department has awarded $104 million in grants to support clean energy projects at federal buildings, including solar panels at the Pentagon. The federal government is the biggest consumer of energy in the nation. The project is part Biden's goal of reducing the federal government's greenhouse gas emissions by 65% by 2030. The Energy Department estimates it'll save taxpayers $29 million in the first year alone and will have the same impact on emissions as taking over 23,000 gas powered cars off the road.

The Education Department has cancelled 5 billion more dollars of student loan debt. This will effect 74,000 more borrowers, this brings the total number of people who've had their student loan debt forgiven under Biden through different programs to 3.7 Million

U.S. Agency for International Development has launched a program to combat lead exposure in developing countries like South Africa and India. Lead kills 1.6 million people every year, more than malaria and AIDS put together.

Congressional Democrats have reached a deal with their Republican counter parts to revive the expanded the Child Tax Credit. The bill will benefit 16 million children in its first year and is expected to lift 400,000 children out of poverty in its first year. The proposed deal also has a housing provision that could see 200,000 new affordable rental units

As an absolutely die-hard One Piece fan who has watched who KNOWS how many episodes, whatever Tumblr is doing ain't it.

I was McFuckin' happy to just let the live action thing die and not be a thing in my periphery. Now I keep getting all this intrusive Tumblr shillin' for it.

Y'all, I promise, as a fan, I definitely don't claim this shit, my g o d

Is this what they meant by Tumblr being a hellsite?
