why does no one talk about nanbaka

Literally the main character is as pathetic as they come. He can’t add numbers, he escapes from prison a thousand times and gets caught sleeping in ditches because he’s too lazy to go any further, he nearly drowns in bathtubs and he doesn’t know how to do shit other than pick locks and break out of jail.

Yet he’s surrounded by the best of people in a jail cell. Seriously, he’s praised for those things because despite them, what makes him unique is that he doesn’t try to be anything different and the others appreciate this about him. It’s heartwarming to see the characters interacting the way they do, it feels like a literal family and they are so wholesome with one another. Uno acts like the motherly friend, Neko is the baby brother it seems and Rock is the lovable hard ass. The dynamics in them make these characters not only relatable but touching.

Despite it being a comedy anime, in one episode alone we learn the backgrounds of the main cast and how they even came to be imprisoned in the first place which was a little emotional I’ll admit, and the development is extraordinary between them on top of that.

Every time Jugo is down or emotional, the other characters play such supportive roles in bringing him back up again. And it isn’t the traditional “it’ll get better soon buddy” speeches, they actually go out of their ways to understand what’s upsetting him, but they never force him to tell them what’s wrong either. Also the introduction of each character never feels forced or bland. Like the scene could go from the main four of the cast to three other background characters plus the supporting main cast and it all plays together phenomenally, everyone has their quirks and it’s just overall a top notch anime that more people need to talk about.

Also how in the world can you guys not appreciate these beauties:

Kissed on the cheek as a way of saying “thank you!” Headcanon

So what if the reader has a special way of saying “thank you”? Btw it doesn’t have to be in a romantic way of meaning! And the reader is gender neutral. (At least I’m trying to do it gender neutral) I already did write a headcanon like that with Team Elf (it wasn’t that good to be honest..) but now I wanted to it the same thing with some inmates.

Jyugo:

- We all know that Jyugo may be touch starved, so don’t expect him to react in a “correct” way. He probably doesn’t know how to react right in the first place.

- But how exactly would he react? At first he will just stand there and say nothing, looking down and probably don’t even make eye contact with you.

- “Ah..why does this feel strange?” He will ask himself after that.

- Jyugo is a person that doesn’t judge so easily. He basically just thinks it’s a normal right? That must be just their personality right?

- Even if he is easy to talk to and doesn’t judge people easily like that, it doesn’t mean he knows how to react to physical touch.

- So he doesn’t try to question it to much but he still isn’t really used to that kind of thing.

Uno:

- Of course he acts like excited dogoo when you kissed him on the cheek.

- But that is not really with every person of course. If you are a female for example, he sure gets excited. I mean we all know he really loves women.

- Otherwise you either need to be at least a very close friend or more than that. Or you’re just need to be the type of person, which nobody can’t help themselves but see you as a natural affectionate “cutie”.

- If you are one of these type of people, he will brag about it to literally everyone. Especially when it comes to Honey and Trois. Yes. He really is annoying.

- “What a nice surprise! I would definitely get used to this~”, “See Honey?! They kissed me before you! So you are really nothing but just a good looking guy!!!”

- Please someone shut him up.

Nico:

- To be honest he’s an absolute cutie so of course you can expect him to do that the same to you next time.

- He’s already a kind of affectionate type of guy so he doesn’t have a problem with this at all! For him, behaving like that is nothing new for him. In his eyes, there is nothing weird about it to kiss someone on the cheek as a way of saying “thank you”.

- He can and does ask Kaguya sometimes if he can rest his head on her lap. So why won’t he let you kiss on his cheek? He loves it!

- he’s giggling the whole time. He’s such a child

- “Hehe no problem!!"  *kisses on your cheek back*

Rock:

- "you-your- you were KISSING me!!!” Calm down Rook it was only on your cheek.

- omg someone please save him. Before he collapses of cuteness-

- HE IS NOT GOING TO CALM DOWN. His face is red like a tomato. His heart is racing so much.

- who knew that this giant mohawk pervert actually has a soft heart? His reaction is too cute

- please do that often with him. He needs this affection so much.

- yes. I think he could be a little touch-starved too. So please kiss him often on the cheek because he big boi deserves it. You remind him of a cute little kitty if you keep doing that. We know how much he loves animals.
