don't even fucking remind me of the death of art and cinema and creativity. it literally makes me sick to my stomach that animatronics and puppets and miniature models and stop motion and painted backgrounds and all other practical effects are thought of as silly and outdated and ugly.. modern movies will never have the beauty of 50s - early 90s fantasy / sci-fi movies... they will never look as good because you can tell everything is fake and a computer generated image. theres just something so charming about watching an old movie and being able to tell the things in it were real and could be touched and held... there's inherent beauty in animatronics and puppets and full body costumes because you know so many people spent so much time carefully crafting it with their hands. in real life. so many artists working together to create an entire real tangible world that real people could interact with and immerse themselves in is just insanely awe inspiring. do you even get it..
