My issue is that there are SOOO many characters in Fates, and everyone has to paired with everyone (or the fans will raise hell), which results in the children being generic. Okay, but bear with me- imagine if you could only marry each guy to two or three girls at most. Yes, the eugenics would be ruined, but think about a Soliel that gets two-toned hair and heterochromatic eyes and a UNIQUE CONVERSATION from Pieri. You know, like the one in the Hoshido Scramble map that doesn't fucking mean shit to me because it wasn't released in the west? Think about the possiblity of kids that are more than palette swaps. Think about the other parent actually MATTERING instead of just providing the raw material necessary to create it and then being shuffled off to the sidelines.

All the kids ARE exactly the same every time. It doesn't matter if I marry Corrin to Shura, Gunther or Izana- three men with very different physical appearances, personalities, and presumably parenting styles- Kanna just turns out as a generic cute kid with different hair (except Izana and Shura both make white hair in the same style despite the fact that I can't see Izana having curly hair genes...). Making unique models and supports for every potential pairing would have been too time and cost consuming. What I'm saying is I would rather have limited, but unique options when it comes to the kids, rather than "You get to fuck everyone! And they all get to fuck each other too!" but every scene with the kids is the same thing recycled ad nauseam. Hopefully that explains my gripe a bit better.
