Chapter One

It was cold.
Too cold, my cell was at the furthest ends of the ark. Complete solitary confinement was where I’d been forced to stay. As I laid on the cold ground of the cell I stared up at the ceiling.
The once dull piece of shrapnel had been sharpened. I’d long since carved out the constellations onto the roof. I gently traced the small scars left in my left arm and wrist, the blade I’d made still hadn’t been taken from me.
Maybe that dickhead of a Chancellor wanted me to slit my wrist. Let Kane find me bathing in pools of my own blood, it would free him of his mistakes. As I twirls the blade in my hands it nicked at the skin of my hands.
It didn’t hurt anymore, nothing really did.
Soft vibrations echoed down my hall as I sat up. I shoved the knife into my boot and pull down my sleeve. As I rolled my shoulders back the door slammed open. The outside worlds was filled with screams of the other teen prisoners.
His footsteps entered slowly as he knelt in front of me. I kept my eyes closed as I listened to the clocking of the guards guns and all the chains they brought in.
“Hey firecracker,” Kane paused as he knelt in front of me. I sighed softly as I held my arms up, ready to be covered in chains. After a few moments he grabs my arms and looks at my wrist.
I would imagine this hurt him, honestly I wasn’t sure. He was my father but I’d never felt connected to him. Maybe it was because I was raised in the lab and closed off sector. Maybe it was because Alice had sold me away. Maybe because I knew he couldn’t love me.
He pressed his forehead to my wrists, I could feel a tear of two slip from his eyes. Pity must have covered my face as the guards slowly began to covered me in chains.
After I was practically dress in silver he motioned for them to pause before placing the mask over my face. He pulled me in close, his arms around me. I froze, my muscles tensed up. He placed a kiss to my temple as he gave me a final squeeze.
“I love you.”
I was hauled to my feet before I could speak and a muzzle was placed on my mouth. I tried to pull away, fight them off but these guards held my chains firmly. They were weighting me down but I was stronger than this.
I should be able to break each and every chain but…. I’m tired. So tired. I look back at him, my eyes pleading for him to understand. He’s familiar to me at least, I know when he’s mad or happy. I know his ticks and quirks by heart.
“I love you too dad.”
I’m pulled further and further away from him. I’m pained into a shuttle with all the other 100, their eyes all fall upon me as I’m chains to my seat. I internally grown as they pull the needle filled with a sleep drug.
I glare up at the guard about to inject me. Does he even know where my vein in, his hands are quivering. I rolled my eyes as the shuttle moves slightly and the guard practically runs away.
I huff softly as I lean back against the seat. I can hear everyone else being to whisper. My god I’m tired of this shit.
“Isn’t that the girl who killed twenty guards by herself?”
“I heard she has a metal leg.”
I couldn’t help but roll my eyes as they carried in the very much unconscious Clarke. I chuckled softly as Wells turned to his ex best friend.
As the shuttle began to drop down shaking Clarke awoke and began to yell at Wells. I quickly began to rip her chains off. Each hitting the ground with a thud.
As the Chancellor’s video came on I ignored it happily. His words meant nothing to me now. He’d failed in every way to me, he was no Chancellor. He was a coward.
“Y/n? Is that you?” Clarke’z confused voice cause the e/c eyes girl to pause. Slowly I moved her gaze to the blonde.
“Who else would they cover in chains?” Clarke didn’t answer as with shoulder length broth hair began to float around.
“Stay in your seats!” Clarke yelled as the shuttle when further down. I had finally ripped all the chains off her body. I looked at Clarke and she was motioning towards the floating boy in front of her.
I shock my head content to remain in the safety of my own chair. She glared at me giving me a look I knew nothing good would come of.
With a puff of air I undid the buckle and pulled the glove off my right hand. My arm shot up grasping the back of him. The metal of my arm shined softly in the dimly lit shuttle.
“She said stay in your seats.” I growled softly as I pulled him down. The shuttle jerked up and grasped into a bar as we began to fall.
I held tightly onto him as I heard Clarke yell, “Finn! Y/n are you okay!”
I groaned as we began to fall helplessly towards the ground. As everyone begins to yell and scream I just focus on holding onto this stupid boy.
The shuttle jerks again and I’m thrown into a wall hitting a few pipes. My vision becomes hazy as I feel blood drip down the side of my face. The corners of my eyes slowly fade into black as my vision is completely blurred.
……….
I feel a pair of small hands shaking my body roughly. I shot up pushing the person away as my vision returns.
“Y/n?”
“Yeah?” I looked at Clarke her eyes full of relief. She ran to me, bombarding me in a tight hug.
“I was worried.” I let her pull away my arms still at my sides. I hummed softly as I pulled myself away from her. The commotion bellow is caught her attention as she pulled me down. As she climbed down as just jumped.
I parted the crowds for her as she walked behind me. I helped push her forward with my metal arm. The others around me pull away in fear.
They thought a metal leg was cool why isn’t my arm cool.
“The air could be toxic!” Clarke urged.
“If the air is toxic, we’re all dead anyway.” The older boy at the front voiced. I stared at him tilting my head slightly. He stared back at me then lowered his gaze to my arm.
“Bellamy?” The crowds parted as a brunette girl climbed down and looked at him.
He turned his gaze to her his eyes becoming full of emotions. He stared down at her smiling softly.
“My god, look how big you are.” The girl engulfed him into a hug as she breathed in deeply. I sighed softly and moved over to the panel. It was jammed and wouldn’t open the doors anymore.
“What the hell are you wearing, a guards uniform?”
“I borrowed it to get in the drop ship. Someone’s got to keep an eyes on you.” He answered.
“Where’s your wrist band?” I heard Clarke ask as I began to try and fix the stupid panel.
“Do you mind? I haven’t seen my brother in a year.” I froze at this and turned to the pair.
“No one had a brother.”
“That’s Octavia Blake, the girl they found hidden in the floor.”
Octavia jerked forward going to attack whoever had spoken. Bellamy quickly gasped into her holding tightly to her.
“Octavia, Octavia no. Let’s give them something else to remember you by.” He tried to calm her. The fire was not lost in her eyes as she pulled herself from his grip.
“Yeah? Like what?”
“Like being the first person on the ground in a hundred years.” He answered with a smile. I watched Octavia’s face brighten at the notion. I watched as Clarke’s eyes fell as he moved over to me.
“It won’t open.” His eyes darted to me.
“What do you mean it won’t open?”
“The panels fucked.” He moved me out of the way to try the panel himself.
“You’d need a shit ton of force to open those doors up.” I pause for a moment. “Lucky for you, I hate confined spaces.”
He stared at me, his dark eyes holding mine. I glared up at him as his lips curled into a smirk. I moved away from him approaching the door. I rolled my shoulder, my arm flexing against each metal part.
I slammed my fist forwards, the cool metal of my hand hitting the hot door. It flung towards the ground as people backed away gasping.
Light hit our faces as a breeze pushed against us. I averted my eyes, the light all too bright. I moved out of Octavia’s way with a nod.
“All yours sunshine.” I mumble as she stared at me. I watched as her brother’s eyes trailed me and try then her. She took in a long breath before exhaling deeply. Her feet slowly moved forward against the metal door on the ground.
After a moment she jumped down, her boots hitting the firm soil. She took a few more steps as I stared out at the trees. They were lush and green all over. They were nothing like I’d ever seen before.
My eyes drifted till I found Bellamy’s eyes on me. I blinked a few times unsure as to why he was staring at me. In his eyes they held a looked I’d never been given.
“WE’RE BACK BITCHES!” Octavia yelled as the others cheered. Bellamy’s eyes left me and retired to his sister as he laughed.
All around me the others pushed forwards onto the ground in front of us. I simple stared at them all as they left cheering. After a moment when all were gone I followed.
I left’s my boots hit the ground. I dug them into the soil as I bent down. My fingers traced the top of the grass around us. It pounced my fingertips gently. I let out a breathless chuckle as I grabbed a handful of dirt.
It crumbled in between the cracks of my hand. I brought it to my nose, breathing in the earth scent deeply. I let out a long breath as I stare out.
Humans were finally back home.

A/n: I’m super excited for this one. I’ve gotten really into dead boy detectives lately. I’ve also just fallen in the love with Monty and found there aren’t enough fics of him. Now this does have some sensitive topic that are in the show. Along with a few added ones. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. Other then that please enjoy.

Trigger Warning: Religious themes, gore, murder, violence, suicidal thoughts, alcoholism, demons, blood, self hatred, cannibal tendencies in flashbacks, child neglect, ptsd, self neglect, imprisonment, torture, consumption of other demons, more warnings to follow
CHAPTER ONE

It was loud in Hell. Louder than she thought it would be. After being dragged down however many years ago she’d lost all hope of ever leaving. Her father was not much help, some high lord demon he was. Couldn’t even free his own daughter for the prison of his own making.
She could never quite drown out all the screaming. Her ears were better than that of normal humans, she could hear everything. Every soul being tormented. Every demon who laughed. There was not one thing in hell that happened that she couldn’t hear.
However as the door to her torture chamber opened slowly she did not recognize the footsteps of the ghost who quickly hid. Her eyes slowly lifted upwards, her face red and puffy of tears.
There on the ground next to her was a boy her age. With pale skin, blood dripping from his forehead, almost black hair and the most intense emerald eyes she’d ever seen. His face was covered in terror as he looked around the room.
Bodies covered every inch. Bloody mutilated bodies. Limps and guts were torn out and scattered about. The faces of horror forever laced in the corpses.
“Who are you?” Her voice came out hoarse, her last screaming fit having only been a few minutes ago.
“….Edwin Payne.” His voice was soft, maybe a bit fearful.
She chuckled softly, pain? His last name was Payne and he was in hell.
“I think you’re in the wrong room.” She whispered softly, leaning closer to him. He shook his head furiously, the blood in his face crippled down.
“No! I shouldn’t be here at all!” He whisper yells. The girl nodded softly as some demon crawled in front of her door. Edwin froze up, his eyes locking upon the entrance.
“Don’t worry sacrifice, most of the demons avoid this room.” She mumbled laying her head back down in her knees. He slowly turned to her, he studied her frame quickly.
“Come with me.” He whispered. She snapped her head up staring into his soul.
“Excuse me?”
“Come with me, I’m escaping. If these demons are so afraid of you then maybe it will be better for the both of us.” She didn’t answer.
Her gaze traveled around the carnage covered room. Her father wasn’t evening much help getting her out of here. Her own mother laid with the corpses. Maybe that wasn’t really her, maybe her soul was somewhere else.
“That doesn’t frighten you? That demons are afraid of me?” He shock his head.
“Not if it gets us out of this place.” She nodded her head. He slowly stood up, lowering his hand for her to take.
Then she took it.
…………………………
This was royally stupid.
Her feet pattered against the ground as she ran away from the ghost the persuaded them. Her thighs ached as she followed after Charles. His bag bounced as Edwin ran next to him.
This was not how she wanted to spend her Saturday. She had planned on sitting in the couch with a cup of instant ramen and watch Peter Pan. However the boys had other plans.
And now she was running from some crazed soldier who was screaming his head off. She watched as the boys bickered between each other. Charles threw the bag to the ground going through it.
The trio stood in a circle, as Charles pulls out an iron knife from his bag.
“Iron knife! Give him a right smart burn if he tries anything.” Charles snapped as he raised the knife. Y/n rolled her eyes as her hands gently lit up in hues of scarlet.
“Real smart Charles.” She mocked him as she moved her body slightly in front of Edwin.
Ignoring Y/n, Charles continued, “I say with clip the mask, destroy it, he moves into her afterlife, case closed.”
“Bait and match gambit?” Y/n asked as her lips curled into a smirk. Charles chuckled softly as he tossed the knife into the air.
“I’ll need Minor Arcana, volume four. It’s the sort of small, purple one.” Edwin starts. Charles loved to his bag rummaging through it extensively.
“It contains the fire spell.” Edwin continued. Y/n’s eyes dropped slightly as she watched Charles.
“You don’t have it in the bag, do you?” She watched as his entire arm sunk Kylo the bag. The way his face dropped as she spoke.
“Right. Small hiccup there. I left it back at the office.” Edwin whipped around his face full of panic. Y/n glared down at her friend with his arm still in his bag.
“Charles, you have a backpack that can hold an infinite number of things.”
“Well I didn’t know we’d need it did I?”
“This is why you boys let me pack the infinity bag!” The ghost howled above them as he jumped down. The trio stared at the ghost soldier as he held out his own knife. Slowly there gazes turned to Charles knife.
“Go!” With Charles’s warning the group sprinted off again. The ghost continued to chase them through London as they ran. Y/n was seriously annoyed that she hadn’t just stayed home.
“Y/n! Could you please be helpful and use your magic!” Edwin yelled to her. She stoped her run allowing the boys to pass her. His footsteps falters as he watched his friend lower herself to the ground.
“Y/n!” Charles yelled but was ignored. Slamming her hand against the gravel, debris shot up. With scarlet hues covering the brown pieces they formed a wall, stopping the outraged ghost in his tracks.
As Y/n turned around Edwin spotted a glass mirror. The boys ran to it as she groan in annoyance. They always forget I cannot mirror travel!
Because they don’t care!
Rolling her eyes once again at her voice she tracked after them. Edwin looked back slightly to see her still running with them.
“I’ll meet you boys at the office!” She yelled to them. With her words boy boys disappeared through the glass. The two men holding the mirror stared at her as she ran past them.
She continued to run not minding all the stares she received as she dashed to an alleyway. It wasn’t easy being a dead boy detective when the living can see you. Dead boy detective was still strange to say.
If anything she was just a bodyguard for the two boys when they got into trouble. Leaning down to the ground and pricking her finger she drew a circle in the air.
Quickly the blood floated in the air swirling as made a portal to the office. The vast book covered shelves and desk being show through.
The office I pay for.
With my wealth.
She scoffed softly at his voice. She mocked his softly repeating to herself. She quickly jumped through the portal of her own making, landing in the office rather gracefully.
She panted softly as she brushed off any dish that might have found it way into her clothes. She wore a simple black suit with white collared shirt underneath. Black vest around her waist and her sleeves rolled up. At the back of her suit jacket Charles as sewn on a large drawing of a hydra.
As she looked around she couldn’t find the boys. They’d jumped into the mirror before her, they should’ve already been back. Before she could process another thought, Edwin’s lanky body crash into her.
Her stomach hit the ground with a thud as he lay on top of her for a few moments. He jumped off quickly pulling the crazies girl to her feet.
Charles body crashed just to the desk, pushing the furniture. Edwin panted softly.
“Now, before he arrives,” The sounds of Charles changing cuts off his words. Moving forwards out of the mirror the ghost clutched onto Charles throat. The boys body slams on the desk, sliding onto the floor.
Y/n pushed the emerald eyes boy away as the soldier ghost goes to attack Charles. With a flash of red the knife that had been aimed for Charles head is thrown away.
The soldier ghost rises in the air. His body jerking around as Y/n glares sharply at him. Charles shoot’s up, grasping at his iron knife.
“Sorry, chap. That mask has a hold on you, so I’ll need to take it.” Charles mumbles as he rubs at his neck. The knife slices through the mask effortlessly and is quickly thrown to Edwin.
Blood drips from the ghosts mouth as he screams in disarray. The blood drips down onto the carpets in front of the desk. Y/n’s eyes sharpen as she turn to Edwin.
“EDWIN PAYNE! These are my nice carpets! Hurry the fuck up!” Upon her instruction Edwin beings to chant in Latin. The mask lights on fire, slowly burning.
The soldier ghosts screams turn into a gentle whimper as his mask turns to ashes. Slowly Y/n lowers him to the ground, her eyes no longer so sharp.
The ghost curled to the ground and slowly she reach her hand out. It gently rested on his shoulder as he whimpered in anguish.
“It’s alright mate. You win the war. Kids read about it in school boom, yeah? You’ve done brilliantly.” Charles’s words echo through Y/n’s mind.
“You’ve done brilliantly sweetling.” His words as calm as ever. His hand the combed through her bloodied hair cold as always. His eyes…. His eyes that cursed blood color.
Shivers ran down her spine as she felt Edwin grasp into her arm. She quickly brought them outside. The boys clung to the window as she floated besides Edwin.
“Charles, Y/n that was a job well done.” Edwin told the pair.
“Yeah, pretty chuffed about it myself. Except for the part where he chocked me.””
“You’re welcome.” Edwin’s snickers brought a smile to both faces. The room quickly lit up in a bright blue.
“Death.” Edwin whisper faintly. “She’s here.”
The trio looked through the sides of the window. Death stood before the old ghost speaking to him softly.
“They will come back, come back again. As long as the red Earth rolls. He never wasted a leaf of a tree. Do you think He would squander souls?” Y/n repeat with Death softly to herself. Edwin looked over at her, his eyes softer.
“You ever think, what if death did catch us? She’s force us to go to the afterlife and split up.” Her own eyes faltered at the thought. She couldn’t go back. Not to the place. Not to that room. Not to him.
“I will make sure that never happens.” Slowly the blue light faded away. Just as the soldier ghost and death did.
If you do poly character x reader x characters, can you do poly niko and crystal dating a mermaid reader, please
Mermaid Lagoon
a/n : this is my first dead boy detective oneshot and I’m so excited!!! This show has quickly become one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy!!😊
Warnings: David eww, mermaid killings, Niko’s dad mentioned, Angie the angelfish
Niko x fem!reader x Crystal

You never imagined you fall in love with a human, nonetheless two human girls. They’d found you during there case on Angie the Angelfish. Initially the dead boy detectives believed that you, the only mermaid that resided in the mermaid lagoon that connected to the sea were to blame.
They had quickly captured you in an enchanted net and questioned you rather sharply. Unfortunately for them you had an alibi, you had been entertaining a group of Port Townsan’s children after they found your Lagoon.
Fortunately for the dead boys you were kind enough to help them with there problem, especially because many of the children you knew would be going to the kite festival. As you helped you bonded rather quickly with the white haired girl, Niko Sasaki.
She was sweet and so bubbly. She always asked you questions about your lagoon, your tail, how your hair was always dry. Her girlfriend however didn’t seem to like you every much. She was always moving away when you came close. After Charles threw the Nightnurse off the cliff you thought they would no longer need you.
But Edwin, the very tall and pale dead boy insisted that you remain with them just in case they had any need of a mermaid. Niko let you move into her room above the tongue and tail shop.
It’s often you don’t sleep at night, to many nightmare waiting to happen. Mermaids don’t exactly need a lot of sleep anyways. On one of the many nights you stand on the roof you find Crystal there. Her eyes red and puffy, her hands shaking gently.
She obviously did see you, or hear you. Slowly you approached her, placing your own incredible soft hand on her. She jerked her body slightly as she looked at you. She went to wipe her tears but you were faster.
You gently brushed your thumbs under eyes with a gentle smile. You’re perfect s/c skin shinning iridescently under the moonlight. She doesn’t stop crying, her body continued to shake. You brought her into your chest slowly rubbing her back.
Upon one summer's morning, I carefully did stray Down by the Walls of Wapping, where I met a sailor gay
You weren’t sure why you started to sing to her. Maybe it was because this was what your mother had done for you once. When you fears became to great and you couldn’t sleep.
Conversing with a young lass, who seemed to be in pain Saying William, when you go, I fear you will never return again
My heart is pierced by Cupid, I disdain all glittering gold There is nothing can console me, But my jolly sailor bold
Her breathing started to calm as you lulled her away from her horrible thoughts. Her hand found it way above your racing heart. You’d never held someone so close before.
You hadn’t held anyone in so long. The feeling of her warmth pressed against your colder body was nice. Strange in a way you couldn’t explain.
After she’d calmed down she looked up at you. Her eyes were red and puffy but no longer it a river of tears fall from them.
“Are you alright?” You keep your voice calm, almost hypnotic.
“Yeah… sorry I just,” She didn’t need to finished.
“Got too crowded up there?” She nodded her head. You didn’t move, you kept your arms around her.
“You may not know this but I have this demon in my head and he’s… he won’t leave me alone.” You brought your lips to her forehead, kissing her gently.
“Nightmares are the plague of sleep. A curse I only know too well.” You told her with a smile.
“Crystal?” Niko’s gently and sleepy voice came from the roof door. She stood in her pink silk nightdress that was covered in flowers. You felt your face flushed at the position you been caught in.
This was Niko’s girlfriend, your friend’s girlfriend. Niko had been the first person to show you kindness and believe that you hadn’t been sing people to death. She was the first person to cut you from the boys net and here you were. Holding and kiss her girlfriend.
Niko approached quickly and sat by your side. She nuzzled her way into your arms and wrapped her own around Crystal. You didn’t move, not wanting to bring any attention to your own racing heart.
“Why don’t you come get me?” Niko asked softly.
“Didn’t want to worry you, either of you.” Crystal voiced. Niko smiled at her and moved her face to you. She kissed your cheek with her surprisingly soft lips for someone who’d probably just woken up.
“I knew you liked us.” Niko whispered as she rested her own head on your chest. You stiffed up, your shoulders going ridged. Your face became hot as Niko giggled.
“How did you…..?”
“Wanna hear a secret?” Niko’s voice was chipper. You couldn’t move your mouth.
“We like you too.” Crystal finished.
………………………………
The water ripples around the teal shimmering tail attached to Y/n as she rests on the shore of her lagoon. Her two lovers sat on two large boulders to keep out of the water. Y/n brought her body between the pair as Niko continued to speak.
“And the cafe I found has crab for you Y/n!” Niko cheered as she kicked the water. Crystal chuckled as she took the shell from Y/n. It was a pale blue in color, matching the thick coat she wore.
“Niko that sounds lovely but you know I have to go to Atlantic tomorrow.” The two girls frown at the mention.
“I still don’t understand why you always have to go.” Niko whines softly.
“It’s a celebration for… for my dead pod. I have to go.” I mumbled softly. Crystal placed a hand on my shoulder. It was a fond memory of mine, when those hunters killed my entire pod and I had to flee in this lagoon.
“What were they like?” Crystal asked softly. I smile softly as the memories of my pod.
“My pod was an odd sort, we were all orphaned by mer-hunters. We clung to each other like the kelp that makes up our breeding grounds. We never could stray quite so far from one another.”
“Hey I’m also an orphan, well short of.” Niko added. I nod my head as I push myself up and kiss her. I run my hand through her white hair as she smiles.
“Will you sing for us?” Crystal asks softly.
Hear my voice beneath the sea, Sleeping now so peacefully At the bottom of the sea, Sleep for all eternity
Sailors live so restlessly, Come with me, sleep peacefully
Listen to this siren's song, Worry not for nothing's wrong
The two girls sat in silence as their mermaids voice rang out through their lagoon. There was no David. No annoyed dandelion sprites yelling. Just them as the mermaid sang.
Let my voice lead you this way, I will not lead you astray Trust me as we reach the side, Jumping out where men have died
Hear my voice beneath the sea, Sleeping now so peacefully At the bottom of the sea, Sleep for all eternity

Tension
a/n : Love all Aleksander requests, but I’m still new at smut so sorry if this isn’t the greatest. Hinting at some Zoya x reader but it’s just used to make to make Aleksander jealous. I’m also using my Tidemaker! Reader for this from my other oneshot, link below . It’s kinda a series but no real cohesive storyline yet.
Touch her and die
Warnings: dry humping, getting caught, soft dom! Aleksander, praise kink, degradation kink, bratty reader, jealousy, Alina hate
Aleksander Morozova x fem! Reader

Y/n wiped the sweat from her brow with a huff. Zoya laid on the ground before her panting and out of breath. She offered her hand to her friends and with her help Zoya pulled herself to her feet. Slowly Y/n began to look around for her lover, Aleksander but he was nowhere to be seen. Zoya smiled softly as she pat her friends back.
“He’s not here! Why isn’t he here!” Zoya sighed softly at her friends. Since the arrival of Alina Starkov, the general hadn’t had much time for her. Aleksander was meant to go riding with Y/n on this loving morning before the party later but Alina asked for his help.
“I haven’t spent anytime with him since she got here.” Y/n bitterly mumbled. Zoya rubbed her back, sore from being thrown in the ground moments before.
“Want help making him jealous?” Y/n raised a brow with a smirk. The pair slowly made their way into the little palace. Aleksander walked down the hallway catching Y/n’s eyes. Before he could reach her Alina and Genya appeared. Alina quickly taking his attention from Y/n, him sends her a sorrowful look.
Y/n bit her lip and shot the pair a nasty glare. She turned to Zoya a dangerous smile in her face. She slipped her arm in Zoya’s pulling her close to her body.
“Let’s go get ready.”
Y/n sipped her wine with a smirk, her arm lazily dropped over Zoya’s waist. The pair had matched their clothes for the nights party to each others. Zoya wore a teal dress with a skirt that flowed like the wind, while Y/n’s dress was a darker blue that fell like a raging waterfall.
Aleksander’s gaze was darkened in the pair as they laughed at whatever Fedyor had said. Alina had been at his side the entire night, unsure of what to do. Aleksander eyes rested on Y/n’s form as she spoke with some random noble man.
He watched as she lead towards Zoya, whispering softly in her ear. Never would he doubt his Tidemakers faith to him but the way her arm was around Zoya waist caused his blood to boil. He could see her bratty smirk, he watched as she slowly pull Zoya away towards the dance floor.
New music began to play, fast and sensual music. Y/n and Zoya slowly began to dance together, Aleksander swore Y/n was trying to kill him. Her hips swayed and her hands were firmly on Zoya’s curves.
That little mix- Aleksander thought as he made eyes contact with Y/n. She continued to dance to the music, her body moving in an erotic fashion. His first tightened around his glass as Ivan and Fedyor laughed softly at the pair.
Y/n continued to lead Zoya as the pair danced, the music only adding to Aleksander’s frustration. With each beat of the music Zoya moved her body against Y/n with a smirk. Y/n closed her eyes with a knowing look on her face.
As she moved she heard him, his boots against the dance floor. She felt Zoya move away and his firm hands on her moving hips. Her back was pulled against his chest and she opened her eyes.
“General.” Y/n greeted. Aleksander didn’t answer her, his face was tight. His dark irises pierced into her e/c one. He pulled her away rather quickly without any care for who could see.
As Aleksander pulled her, Y/n shot a look to Zoya. Zoya smirk and watched with sharp eyes as the pair disappeared.
……………
The door to Aleksander’s study slammed shut as he all but pushed Y/n inside. She could help but giggle as she leaned against his desk. His eyes were consumed with lust and desire.
“Do you find this amusing?” He towered her framed. The need in his eyes was enough to make her laugh.
“I must admit it does.” His hands slammed on both sides of her as he pushed her legs apart. He stood in between them, his bugle against his clothes heat.
“You have no idea how badly you’ve hurt me these past weeks. You’ve been pulled away from me at every chance that stupid girl has. You’ve left me alone for weeks and-
Before Y/n could continue her rant Aleksander was pulling her into a passionate kiss. His hands clutched at her face pulling her closer. His tongue invaded her mouth and she let him take over. When they finally pulled away Y/n gasped for air.
“My poor sweet tidemaker, I’ve left you alone too long have I?” The condescension was not lost on her but her cunt throbbed too much for her to care.
“I’m sorry milaya, let me take care of you.” His words went right to her core as he lifted her into his thigh. He pushed her dress away directing her core to run against his thigh. She whined softly as she dragged her hips long him thigh.
The sleek of her panties clung to her as she moaned softly. Aleksander’s lips trailed down her neck, kissing and sucking on all the exposed skin. His hands slowly trailed to her waist gripping at her flesh.
Her moans echoed through the hall as his plush lips sucked under her chin. Y/n’s hands clutched onto his kefta as he used his own hands to help her rub on his thigh.
“Such pretty noises you make.” His nose nudged against hers as he kissed her. “Are you close.”
She nodded her head as he pulled down the top of her dress. He sucked upon her exposed breast, dragging his teeth around her sensitive bud.
Y/n allowed her hooded eyes to drift to the slightly opened door. There she was, that stupid sun summoner. Alina’s eyes met her own as she panted. Alina’s eyes were wide, her cheek flush with jealousy and embarrassment. Y/n moaned loudly as Aleksander moved her hips against his knee.
Her head gently fell back as she cried out. The knot in her broken as pleasure rippled though her. Aleksander’s lips trail up her neck, biting softly in some places. Slowly he pulled away hosting Y/n on the table. He gently kissed her swollen lips, cradling her face in his hands.
“I apologize for neglecting you milaya.” He whispered softly. A giggle escaped Y/n’s lips as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his softly. All was well now. Alina saw that only she would ever be so close to Aleksander.
“I love you.” He chuckled softly, kissing under her jaw.
“And I love you most.”

The wind whipped furiously around the sanctuary. The banners marked by a raging sun blazing across the silks. It was cold, it’d been fair to cold.
As Y/n’s grey eyes trailed over the younger Helios in trainings, the blinding ceremony had just commenced. They were clumsy as tripping over their own feet.
You never really knew how much you needed your eyes till they were gone. Although sight allowed one to see again it wasn’t the same. Colors were dulled, lights were less.
“Enjoying the snow?” Egons voice came from behind her. She didn’t turn to him as he went to her side. His large hands pressed again the railing.
Maja growled softly from where she sat. The snow dressed her coat, almost blending in. She didn’t like Egon, she’d almost bit his fingers more times than Y/n could count.
“No.” Egon couldn’t help but frown. Her answers had been short and never in full sentences anymore. That silver comb was laced in her hair by Isla no matter what she was doing.
“Ready for the ceremony?” She didn’t answer just turned away. Her armor was cold, the metals almost froze in the snow. Her cape, long and lined with wool danced behind her.
“꒒ꀤꈤꃅꂦ꒒ꂵꍟꋪꋪꍟ, be ready for your ceremony.” He urged her. Her hands went to her neck, pulling off her collar. She held it out for him to take.
“I’m not permitted this.” Egon gently took her armor. She was right, in the trial the children would be allows one dagger as there weapon.
His eyes fell on her smaller frame. As she moved inside he watched her. He watched Maja and his ꒒ꀤꈤꃅꂦ꒒ꂵꍟꋪꋪꍟ disappear into the sanctuary.
In truth he worried, there was the small chance she would never survive this. It was a fight to death after all. 44 in training, only 22 would survive.
He held confidence in her, she was trained by his hand. But her opponent would not be one she would be able to kill, he knew that well enough.
…………………
It was warm in the arena. The sand was heated slightly by one of the Inferni whom had kept their powers. Y/n stood, digging her feet in.
If she was to die then she didn’t mind it to be her. She was the last ceremony of the night. Everyone who survived had killed a friend tonight. In turn they had regained their eyes.
Would Alina be able to live with her death. Mal had answered her letter, he and Alina were well. Underfed but well. The guilt festered deep within her. While her sister and best friend were underfed she slept on a full stomach overnight.
Alina, she missed her sister’s dark eyes. The tree bark colored eyes were just brought enough to tell where the irises stoped and pupil began. How Alina’s thick locks would blows gently in the breeze. She missed Alina…. But did Alina miss her as much.
“Announcing Y/n Starkov, ward of Egon Waldow.” Aratha’s voice was mellow. Y/n supposed so many years of conducting these fights would do that to a woman.
“And Isla… Isla Vernio, ward of Egon Waldow.” Y/n froze, her blood going cold. Slowly Isla’s blurred frame came into her sight.
Isla.
Why was Isla in the arena with her. This wasn’t supposed to happen like this. Niko had checked.
She was supposed to kill a random boy, Avich or something. It been easy to kill Avich, he was weak hearted. To kind for his own good, not bad with a sword but horrible with a dagger
“ӄɛɮɮɛռ ready!” Aratha yelled. Y/n couldn’t move. Isla moved into her stance. Her breathing picked up as she dropped her knife. It hit the sand, not a sound echoed around her.
“No… wait !” Y/n uttered finding her voice but from above Kanos nodded his head.
“FIGHT!”
In seconds Isla was charging towards her. Isla’s blue knife sliced through the air as Y/n dodged.
“Isla!” Y/n yelled as her friend attacked her relentlessly. Isla was quick, always had been. Her vibrations were all over the place, it made it hard for Y/n to track her.
Y/n began to move around, turning and dodging very moved Isla made.
“ISLA! STOP!” Isla’s movements became sloppy, frazzled.
Y/n caught her friend’s arm, twisting it and pushing the knife out of her hand. Isla slammed her head back and Y/n backed away.
“Isla stop this! I’m not going to fight you.” Y/n could keep the quiver from her voice. Not this. She couldn’t do this.
She could softly hear Niko’s voice screaming. Niko was alive? Had he lied to her? Of course he’d lied to her. Her mind raced as she went through everything.
Maybe Niko had never been her friend. Only tried to gain her trust in order to get her killed. Maybe it was all a lie. Everything was a lie.
Before she could realize her back was against the sand. Isla’s knife inches from her face. Isla’s knife was in her face.
“Isla…”
As the knife inched closer to her throat she couldn’t see anything. Her vision was turning colors. Her hand moved before she could stop it.
GRAB THE BLADE!
DRIVE IT INTO HER CHEST!
She felt the cold metal dig into her skin and then it was gone. The sound of flesh being pierced echoed through her mind. The choking on blood invaded Y/n’s ears as she caught Isla.
“No no no no no no no!” Y/n repeat as she clung to Isla. The tears burned down her skin as she sobbed.
Isla clung onto her arm as she choked. Y/n looked up at the perch. Her eyes filled with terror as all the blood began to soak her.
Egon wasn’t there.
He was supposed to watch all the fights.
Kanos stared down at her, eyes blank as she stared up at him. His eyes… were those tears.
Kanos never cried, he couldn’t. What had he done that he was crying?
……………………
…………………………
……………………………….
He couldn’t have? Could he?
The moon moved over the arena as Isla shook Y/n. Her eyes slowly moved down as she sobbed. Isla’s eyes were dulled and she could see. All the colors, everything was so vibrant.
Y/n’s eyes began to dart around as she saw everything. Isla’s blood was a deep crimson and it soaked through her ceremonial clothes.
Isla’s vibrations were slowed, almost gone.
Her hands moved slowly, covered in her own blood.
“Burry me with the roses so I’ll always be pretty but I’ll always have my thorns.”
Y/n held her face as she watched the lights in her chocolate eyes left. Her beautiful chocolate eyes were now visible her. Her soft skin lost its warmth, leaving not a trace of life. Y/n felt her breath stop. Her eyes stared down at the blood in her hands.
She could feel herself shake, she could feel her own vibration were everywhere. She could hear her surviving trainees screaming yelling.
She could hear Egon yelling faintly. She could hear everything faintly. The ringing in her ears grew louder as she held onto Isla. It became so bright as her own screams entered her ears.
Her scream didn’t sound like hers. Her screams sounded like something else. Like the screams of the volcra or ʊռʊɖɛǟɖֆ. Or the wailing of a banshee. It was so bright, there was light all around her. She left a pair of arms around her as she screamed.
The light only grew as she screamed and then…………..
Nothing, just black.
…………………………………..
There was too much snow, the pale pink roses were covered in frost. The dug up ground covered in snow. Niko’s bright crystal eyes stared over at her.
She was knelt down tying the blue ribbon to the post. A large sun at the top of the wood. In her hands she held tightly into Isla’s collar.
As per tradition the winner of the fight would take the dead’s collar. Melt it down and add it onto your own armor as a sign of respect for the dead. But Y/n had left the grave in three days.
She merely sat in the snow covered ground still in her bloody clothes. Her hair was become dirty. The bloody was racked under nails. Her own collar had not yet been given back to her. Egon knew she would be far to dangerous with her armor at the moment.
Niko stood behind her, his crystal blues full of unreleased tears. Rosica stood to his left, her blonde locks flowing in the breeze while Zan stood on his right, his arms crossed.
“She hasn’t left her grave.” Niko whispered as the snow whipped around them. Zan sighed gently, looking over at Rosica. The emerald eyes girl nodded her head as she gripped into Niko’s arm.
“Niko, I’ll take her for a walk or something. Clear her mind.” Niko scoffed softly. Y/n would not move from the grave. Her body was too weak, it was by the saints grace she didn’t have frostbite yet.
“And do tell me how you’ll move her?” Niko snapped his cloak blowing in the wind. Rosica smiled gently as she held onto his face. She leaned up and placed a gentle kiss on his plush lips.
“Don’t worry about it, I have an idea.” She pulled away from him keeling down next to the unmoving girl. She pushed away some of Y/n’s h/c hair and leaned down in her ear.
“I was think of getting some winter roses for the grave. Isla would like those wouldn’t she.” Y/n’s dead gaze slowly tracked to the girl at her side. With a slight nod the blonde pulled Y/n to her feet.
Niko’s eyes widened at the sight and moved over to her. His arms found there way around her form. She seemed so small now. Her fire was gone now, not even a spark left.
He pulled his cloak off, wrapping the material around his shaking form. Rosica’s eyes faltered and she shot her gaze over to Zan. His eyes did not meet hers as she moved back to Y/n.
“There’s some flowers at the border, come.” She whispered in the emotionless girls ear. Rosica attempted to lock her hands in Y/n’s but Y/n pulled her hand out of the other’s grasp. Rosica smiled softly at her as she watch the dirty girl curl around herself.
Her brain was blank yet so many thoughts raced all at once. This had to be false. Isla wasn’t dead, she was simply sleeping somewhere. Or hiding away from her.
Maybe this was all another test for her. But Y/n’s mind kept pulling her back to the blood. She never been covered in so much blood.
With Ville it was different, she still wasn’t sure if she loved him. Did she love him? Or had she been so convincing in her own lie she had known.
He was kind, and strange in a way. His face had been etched into her memory. The way he stared up at her had been different. He stared up at her with love in his eyes. Even as his blood began to cover them his held the same expression.
Isla didn’t.
Was it fear that she felt in her final moments? Did she fear her when she died.?
Did Isla fear herself in her final moments.
“Look at all the roses.” The blondes words brought her from her thoughts for a moment. She turned to the pale and frost covered roses. They bordered on a lake that was partially frozen over. She brought her tired legs over to the edge of the pond.
Her knees hit the snow covered ground without a sound. Rosica stood over her as she dug the flowers out of the ground. The weak and cold dirt caked under her nails as she pushed the earth away. The blondes eyes darkened as she stared down at Y/n
She never been cruel to her. She stuck by Isla. She was kind enough, helpful enough. But the spell she casted in Niko was too great. It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair that a girl he hated for so long became the object of his heart before her.
“You know Y/n, I never really liked you.” Her words made Y/n pause. Something was wrong. There were no birds singing. No a sound was present. Something was wrong.
She slowly placed the rose, roots in all on the pile of other roses.
“Is that so?”
“Yes, I just never really liked you. You were always so… brutish, not to mention bloody.” Rosica snarled as she stood over Y/n. This was wrong. She shouldn’t have gone with Rosica, Y/n barely knew her. She was Niko’s lover if anything at all.
Niko had almost never brought Rosica around her. She wasn’t sure why but now in the moment she knew that this girl was not her friend.
“Niko used to hate you, I don’t know why it changed. You aren’t very pretty, so you couldn’t have made him fall in love that way. Your personality is nothing special either, you’re just cold.” She continued. The bushes began to shake as another figure approached.
“What is this?” Y/n asked not looking back at the pair.
“Your death.” Zan voiced. She turned her head to him. It didn’t really surprise her, Zan should have don’t something like this ages ago. She’d disfigured him after all, no amount of kind words could change that.
“You are a special breed half-breed. I never would’ve know had Kanos not placed me in that arena with you. Your power is astounding!” His face was as manic as his words.
“The only powers I have are the gifts of Helios. I’m no grisha like you.” She snapped as she glared at the pair. Zain’s smile curled up, showing off his perfectly white teeth.
“Adam felt it, the power in your bones that day in the arena. I never got close enough to touch your skin but he did. I gather so did Kheli but he wouldn’t give us many answers.” She furrowed her brows at his words.
This made no sense, not a single word spoke to her made sense. After the ceremony she had gain powers. Strength in the flesh, mind and spirit, but all helios’s were granted these powers.
“You’re an amplifier.”
The words sent chills down her spine. She wasn’t sure what an amplifier was but it sounded familiar. Like a concept she was in the cusps of grasping
“Took me some time to figure it out but,” he paused laughing crazily. “They hid it so well. All of them. You have NO IDEA! No idea how much that council protects you!”
Her eyes faltered for a moment. Staring down at the snow covering the woods. She should have never felt Maja in her room. She should’ve brought her war dog with her.
“What are you talking about?” She asked her tone surprisingly gentle. Rosica’s harden gaze faded for a moment. This wasn’t the viscous girl she was ready to kill moments ago.
“An amplifier is a creature whose bones grant more power to a grisha. You amplify us. At least you will once we’re done with you.” She curled up her lips. He was wrong, he had to be. Niko was a grisha and he never once brought this up.
A few moments of pure silence past as they all stare at one another. She could hear the snow falling into the ground. Niko had never touched her skin. He was afraid of his own powers. Saints grace….
Niko had only ever grabbed anyone by their clothed shoulders or arms. After the arena fight Kheli refused to touch her. He was reject her hand at every turn and grasp onto her clothes back instead.
His way of showing love was touching. He enjoyed hugs and hand holding more than Isla ever had. Yet he’d never touch Y/n, every memory of her experiences with grisha had been the same. One touch then never again.
“Where’s Adam? He told you of this?” Her words were soft, quiet, small.
“He’s a fool, he wanted nothing to do with this.” Perhaps that was what hurt her more. Adam was more a stranger to her than Zan. She killed someone she cared for she he and the others could escape the village in fjerda. She never done such a thing for Adam.
She didn’t react as her entire body was pushed into the ice waters. She flared around as the pair grabbed onto her legs, arms and body keeping her down. The corners of her vision became darkened as she thrashed.
The water enclosed upon her as its cold waters filled her lungs. She screamed and gagged as she tries to break from there grips. But she was weaker, tired, and broken. Y/n had to admit that they were rather smart to choose now to kill her.
GET UP!
It was that voice again. It was different this time. His will voice was deep, harsh but there was a sense of fear she’d never heard before. She continued to thrash about as through her blurred vision she saw a blade.
Her jerking slowed as her vision began to blacken. Her lung became heavy as she inhaled the salty lake water. It burned down her throat as her fight began to diminish.
THERE’S A BLADE AT YOUR SIDE!
GRAB IT!
Quickly obeying the strangers voice her freezing hand reached to her side. The cold metal cut at her fingertips. She knew there was never a blade on her. She wrapped her hands around the hilt and brought it up.
The blade slashed around….
It planted dip into flesh. Red filled her vision as her body was pulled from the icy waters. Her eyes faded in and out as screams entered her ears. A pair of cold wet hands held tightly onto her.
She was rolled on her back, her head falling limply to the side. There he was. A mass of muscles, taller than any man she’d ever seen. His body covered in thick bounds of metal that curved around him. His sword was ginormous, the hilt alone was bigger than her hand.
Water was pulled from her throat as she gagged violently. A pair of gentle and delicate hands pulled her head into there lap. Her eyes shut for a while.
The world was too loud to ignore.
“No! Please! We didn’t mean any harm!” Was that Zan? Begging?
A dark chuckle echoed through the cold air.
“Then why did you try to kill what was mine!” His voice was deep and cruel. It echoed like a famine that would slaughter thousands. Like a battle that saints knew would be bloody.
Zan’s screams would quickly cut off as the sound of metal meeting flesh entered her ears. Slowly her eyes opened, above her was the most beautiful woman she ever seen. With perfect blonde hair that flowed elegantly around her shoulders. Her beautiful crystal eyes stared down at her worriedly.
Slowly her own eyes drifted away, going to the side of her. Rosica laid on the ground by the lake. Her throat slit in two as the crimson pooled around her.
The roses she’d pulled from the ground were coated in blood. They seemed to drown in the puddle of it. Her eyes flickered, she’d seen this before. Those bloody flowers were the same in her vision.
Alina, Y/n, and Mal all laid in the meadow field as they hid from grisha testers
Blood covered flowers
A white stag standing in a snow covered forest
A pair of piercings eyes so dark they looked black peering down at her
Black armor covering her as a strange light admitted from her hands
After her head injury those images had been planted in her head for the past few years. They had been burnt into her very soul.
“Will she live?” His voice held that touch of fear she was so used to. Another man she hadn’t seen nodded his head gently. His long locked curled around each other like gently ocean waves. His bright blue eyes stared down at his calmly.
“You’re are certain?’ The blonde women who held her sighed softly.
“Ares, my love, she will live, her memories of this will be fogged.” She could hear yelling, so much yelling in the distance.
“We must go nephew.” The ocean eyed man said as he stood. The blonde who held Y/n kissed her cheek softly, her eyes began to drop even more. As her body touched the cold floor she felt a warm large hand in his face.
“Be bloody, be ruthless…. My little blood Helios.” With that, they were gone. And all faded to black.

CHAPTER TWO

“You are a plague on this world.” He slowly circled Y/n, his ruby eyes staring down at her. The girl panted as she held onto her twin daggers.
Her upper cheek was cut, the blackened blood dripped down her. Her body was dripping in sweat. Her shoulders sagged as he continued to attack her.
“You are the famine that has killed hundreds.” His words echoed with each of his blows to her body. She lurched forwards, coughing violently as her knees his the sand.
Her head shook hazily as she knelt in the ground. His large hand cupped her cheek, pulling her face to his.
“You are the death and destruction of this world.” His nails dug into her skin as tears began to streaming down her face.
His eyes bore down at her as she panted. Her face a mess of tears, snot and sweat. “You are the Great Scylla, doom of this world!”
“…. No.”
“No?” His tone mocked her. He mocked her. His pulled her closer, his body bent over so she could see his face.
“Then what are you?” She brought her dagger into his arm and he pulled away. On shaky legs she stood, her face full of tears.
“I’m a witch.” His pale lip curled up as he pull the dagger from his arm. He threw back at great speed. Y/n’s hand flew up, grabbing around the blade of the knife.
It stung as her blood covered the knife. Then again he attacked. Again and again he ask, “What are you.”
Again and again she repeated, “I’m a witch.”
Till she didn’t.
………………………………
Her body shot forward in her bed as her hands flew to her throat. Her nails clawed as her throat as she gasped for air. The dark walls of the room seemed to close in on her as she gasp.
Her nails bit into her skin leaving red lines. Her eyes darted around her room frantically.
“Y/n!”
“What’s wrong!” Both ghost fazed into the room quickly approaching her bed. Charles placed his arm around her as she panted.
Edwin hesitantly placed his hand over hers, pulling them away from her throat. Her neck was red and a few small cuts covered her.
There touch felt strange, like small tickles upon her skin. She couldn’t really feel them but she could in a way. She felt them in her heart and her mind. She breathed out shakily as she tried to calm herself.
“Breathe mate, breathe.” Charles whispered to her softly. Her breathing remained strained as she panted. She laid her head on his shoulder, her eyes glued shut.
“What was it about this time mate?” The tears continued to stream down her face as she sniffled.
“Same old, same old.” She mumbled mindless as she felt Edwin’s thumb against her hand. She didn’t see the look the two boys shared. She didn’t see the way Charles looked down at her. Y/n was an enduring mystery to them.
Sometimes she would speak on tiny things about her life before hell. The two boys could make a list of what they knew about her. In fact Edwin did have a list.
Y/n’s mother was a witch named Melania, and she was raised in a small village outside of Salem called Widows Wailson
Y/n was extremely powerful in blood magic’s and the darker forces
Y/n had been trapped in hell for at least 300 hundred years?
Y/n was neither a sacrifice nor an evil soul, so how she ended up in hell was a mystery
Y/n often spoke of brothers, specifically her youngest brother who they only knew by the alias “little wolf”
Y/n was immortal, she would remain 16 years old for the rest of her existence.
It was an odd list of things that they believed to be true. Y/n had never once mentioned her father, it was safe to assume he didn’t exist to her. The running theory between the boys was that Y/n and her mother had been hunted during the Salem witch trials and that somehow she ended up immortal and in hell.
Much to Edwin’s annoyance it wasn’t a strong theory. Y/n didn’t like to speak about her past. There was so much about Y/n that didn’t add up. Y/n was not dead which was very obvious, but she’d been in hell.
Charles gently rubbed at her back as the lights from outside flickered into her bedroom. Her room was rather cluttered with magical objects, potion ingredients and other strange things.
She was the only one with an actual bedroom. Both boys had their own rooms but no beds. They didn’t have a need for them like Y/n did. It was also nice that Y/n paid for there entire apartment with money they didn’t know how she had.
The window creaked as her red light opened it slightly. The cold breeze drifted into the room. She sighed deeply as she closed her eyes once more. As she laid back down the two lay laid in either side of her.
“Do you guy think who were told we are and who we hope we are two very different things?” The two boys paused unsure how to answer.
“Yes… I do believe who we’re told we are and who we are, are different. Sure sometimes the two images are blurred but at the end of the day we are not what others believe us to be.” Edwin answered softly.
……………………………………
Pizza had to be one of the greatest inventions. As she sat on the edge of Edwin’s desk with an entire box of cheese pizza in her lap she knew the food in this age was much better than anything she’d ever had before.
She happily ate her food as she watched Charles circled Edwin with boxing mits up. His physique wasn’t prime to chasing away hostile ghosts.
“Come on, why are you so stiff? Loosen up. Come on.” Edwin could only groan at Charles words. She happily finished her first slice of pizza as Charles practically danced around.
“Come on, Edwin. I picked this just for you, mate. Boxing's a gentleman's sport, innit?” Edwin rolls, his face full of annoyance.
“When will I have to hit someone? I've been dead since 1916.” Edwin answers snippily. Y/n giggled softly as she waved her hand. The windows cracked open allowing a fresh breeze to enter.
The boys didn’t feel the cold anymore, or extreme amounts of heat. She did though. She stared down at the pizza in her lap, she finished another slice. It was strange to her, to not be so hungry anymore.
Life before was rough, the others in the village didn’t like her and her mother. They wouldn’t always trade crops with her family. She wasn’t used to having such an abundance of food.
It made her feel a little guilty. Her and her mother never had this. Yet now as her mother rotted she had so much.
“Look I've been your best mate for 30 years, so I know you don't like to try new things, but it would make me feel a lot better if one of these decades you did learn to defend yourself.” Charles uttered. Her head snapped up as she watched Edwin attempt to box.
“What am I then? A cockroach?” Edwin hit Charles hands rather gently.
“Noah mate, you’ve done great in being a bodyguard. Gave a good snaking to those wraiths in 07.” Charles laughed. Her head mocking lowered as she ripped a piece of her food off in her mouth.
A loud buzz exhorted through the office. The trio shared a look as Y/n hopped down from the desk. She placed her pizza on a side table or and cleaned her hands.
“New case time boys.”
…………….
“Right, then. I’m Edwin Payne. This is Charles Rowland, and she is Y/n Adrienne. As you no doubt know,we are the Dead Boy Detective Agency.” Edwin told the young blonde girl ghost before them.
Edwin sat in the chair of the desk with Charles and Y/n sat atop the desk on his right and left.
“He’s the brains, I’m the brawn and she our power. Getting things done.” Charles answered with a smile. The young dead Victorian girl furrowed her brows.
“You are the brawn?” She asked suspiciously.
“Yeah. Why’d you say it like that?” Charles asked. Y/n giggled softly at the girl.
“No reason.” She insisted. The trio shared a quick look. The girl named Emma slowly place the picture in the desk.
“I would like you to help my friend Crystal. She’s a psychic you see.” Slowly Y/n reach and took the picture. She slowly handed it to Edwin with a small smile.
“A medium. So she can see me even though I’m a ghost. But lately, something has been odd.” The trio stared at the picture of Crystal. She had curly brown hair, dark eyes and chocolate colored skin. Y/n smiled softly at her picture.
“How do you mean “odd?”” Edwin asked handed the photo back to Y/n. She quickly pocketed it as a feeling of unease got her. Her heart sank into her stomach. Like a stone hitting water it sunk.
She slowly turned her head out the window. It was like she could feel a pair of hatful eyes upon her. The hairs on her skin shot up, her body itched to move.
“Y/n are you listening.” She turned her gaze to Edwin quickly.
“Course I am.” She uttered softly. She hadn’t noticed that she’d moved from the desk. She shuffled, leaning against Edwin’s chair.
“Yes, well we need to discuss payment. We sometimes do pro bone work but in this instance,” Edwin’s words were cute off by Emma.
“Oh, but I'm just a young child trying desperately to help my new friend. How ever will I afford it?” Y/n laughed loudly at the girl as she leaned further into Edwin’s chair. Charles smirked softly as he stood to Edwin’s right. Edwin waved his hand slightly.
“Emma Your hairstyle and Victorian coin purse point to your death in the late 1800s. Meaning you're older than us, supernaturally speaking.” Y/n turned her head slightly.
Something was eating at her. There were eyes upon her. From every angle she could feel them. She did not like it.
“You've had plenty of time to learn how to exist as a ghost. You also have a knowledge of the arcane, as demonstrated
by the glowing magical squid as a pet. So...” Y/n turns her attention back to them again. Charles looked at her, his eyes having a hint of confusion.
“I suspect you have the means to pay.” Charles smiled widened at Edwin’s words.
“Next time you want to pull the helpless child act, maybe leave the magic squid at home, love.” Y/n said with a small smile, her sharp canines showing slightly.
“Fine, you twats. How much?” Emma asked. The trio exchanged smirks.
The dead boy and witch detectives had a new case.
…………………..
Y/n held into the bars as the train began to move again. She’d pulled most of her hair back and out of her face. Demons were messy, not easily subdued.
It was just her lucky demons seemed to be a special skill set of hers.
Charles and Edwin moved first. Grasping onto Crystal and drawing the rune. Y/n knelt by Edwin’s side as he finished the rune and Charles’s was sent flying.
She knelt on the ground as Crystal stuck to the floor growling. Red started to encase the struggling girl as Y/n moved her hands slightly. Slowly her eyes shifted into the color of blood as the train began to spin.
Y/n’s feet remained firmly planted on the ground as the boys fell and spun around. From the hole on the trian fell out ugly stinky wet fish. Y/m scrunched her face in disgust at the smell.
“The fish are washing away the runes!” Edwin yelled. With a wave of her hand the fish went flying away, hitting the windows as while flowers. Charles wu ily threw the white blanket with the runes drawn into it into Crystal.
As the train began to shift again Y/n held both boys in the air. Her magic encase them in a warm embrace, like a tight hug of red. She slowly lowered them next to her side with a small smile on her face.
As they all knelt down the blanket shot up, running out of the train. Crystal’s body shot up, fear and confusion laced in her face.
“It’s okay. It’s all right now, innit.” Charles said attempting to calm her.
“Your names Crystal right.” Y/n asked gently. She moved closer to the trembling girl helping her sit up properly. Demon possessions were always traumatic, in many ways.
“Yeah. Crystal Palace,” She paused at a loss for words. “Something… there’s uh… theres more to my name.” She stuttered. Y/n held onto her shoulders gently as she tried to speak. Her words would not form coherently.
“Oh, my god. Why can’t I remember?” She gasped leaning forwards as if to throw up.
“Probably a temporary side effect of the demonic possession. It will pass.” Edwin said softly. Y/n shock her head softly, most demon possessions didn’t result in a loss of memories. Sure the memories could become foggy but not truly lost.
Upon seeing the look on Y/n’s face Charles perked up, “You can stay at ours for a few days, until things come back to you.” Edwin cast Charles a sharp look.
“Usually not part of our services. We're the Dead Boy and Witch Detectives. We rescued you. You’re welcome.” Edwin said with a slight nod. Y/n softly rubbed her hands against Crystal’s arms.
“The Dead Boy and Witch Detectives?” She whispered faintly.
“It's aces, right? We're ghosts, she’s a witch and we solve mysteries.” Charles answered.
Crystal nodded, her face looking sickly.
“Oh, yeah. Ghosts. Witch. Got it. It's just a stupid fucking name.” The trio shared a sharp look. Y/n frowned, she thought the name was kinda clever.
