You know, I haven’t seen anyone talk about Neoni’s “Funeral” and “Groundhog day” songs. When I heard them…they instantly hit home. Sid and Caitlyn say that the “Groundhog day” song is for loss of someone close, but I think it’s about losing *yourself.* I mean, these songs are about who you had before, and how happy it was, but the how it all got black. How you were so great when you were young, but now you’re a shadow of your former self. I feel that struggle everyday. I feel like I was better, I was happier. No, I’m not depressed, but I still grieve the lost of younger me. And what doesn’t help is that I get reminded of what I lost every day. I cried hysterically when I heard these songs, they trigger something in me that not many songs can. So overall, I just wanna reach out to people who feel the same and also say how great Neoni is. Even if you’re lost, you’ll always come back. The past you absolutely *did* have some flaws, and now they faded. Even if you don’t see it, you’re better in some way. May Allah guide us all. And also, can I just say how happy I get when I discover Neoni’s old songs? I literally cried when I heard “Messed up masterpiece” and “Giants”.
