Ctenophores (“comb bearers”) are the largest animals on the planet powered by hair-like cilia—you may know these comb rows diffract incoming light into the signature rainbows you’ll see dancing along their sides at the Aquarium. Comb jellies are prolific predators in the plankton, and our amazing Jelly Team cracked the code of comb jelly culture several years ago with the introduction of larval fishes to their diet to encourage spawning.

Since then, we’ve had a steady supply of home-grown comb jellies to show to you all—hopefully you can visit them soon to let your own imaginoceans run wild 😅
