Ok so we've got the dmc boys freaking out about their SO getting hurt, how about the other way around? Their reactions to SO freaking out about them getting hurt?

The DMC 5 boys getting wounded

oooh an interesting spin, I like it. ft. a wounded Dante, Vergil, Nero, V and a gender neutral s/o

Dante:

Dante isn’t one to get hurt easily, he’s been in the devil hunting business for so long he’s perfected it into an art.

It’s definitely the first time you see him get hurt. He’s caught off-guard and gets stabbed straight through his pectoral from behind. You shout.

Running over to him you make quick work of finishing off any stray demons and run to Dante to see his wound.

It’s worse than you thought. He’s bleeding a lot and you panic. You start to ramble as your mind races for ways to fix him and your eyes sting with tears.

He tries to assure you that he’ll be okay but nothing he’s saying sticks in your mind for too long, no human could possibly survive being impaled like this.

Then it hits you. Human. Dante isn’t human.

You go quiet and Dante only assumes it’s because you realized. He holds your shaking hands in his and you blink away the tears in your eyes.

“Does it h-hurt?” you ask him.

“It does for a while,” he responds as he yanks the rusty weapon out of his chest. You wince the same time he does. “but then it’ll be fine.” he finishes and smiles at you.

Vergil:

He gets hurt and doesn’t tell you. You only realize when you two are walking home and he’s clutching his side. You look and there’s shiny red blood staining his blue undervest.

Obviously you’re angry and hurt that he didn’t tell you that he was wounded, so you yell at him. He dismisses your shouts and pleas.

You speed walk home, practically dragging Vergil behind by his sleeve.

Once you’re home, you sit him down and unbutton his vest to get a better look. He stiffens.

“What are you doing?” he asks bluntly.

“Patching you up.” you grumble as you open the first aid kit.

“Foolishness, it will heal itself. You’re angry at me.”

“Yes.” you exhale.

Vergil pauses “Why?” he asks after a beat.

That was it, you started yelling at him again, but this time trying your best to explain how much he means to you and why communication and trust is important in a healthy relationship. You felt a lump form in your throat.

And whole time you spoke, Vergil listened patiently, which only made your urge to cry stronger.

After you’re done, you both sit in silence. His wound has mended itself.

“I’ll try to tell you more next time. I apologize.” Vergil lightly rests his head on yours “I love you.” he whispers silently into your hair.

Nero:

He slipped up for a moment and ended up getting a nasty bump on the head.

You watch as he stumbles and fades in-and-out of consciousness. Another hoard was coming so you did your best to guard him as he regained composure.

Once he was able to see straight again, Nero saw you, fighting as best you could to keep the demon hoard a safe distance from him. As much as Nero likes to watch you fight, he didn’t want you getting hurt because of his little slip up.

He calls out to you, waving you over to him. 

Once you both retreat to somewhere quiet, you inspect his headwound which was now bleeding down the side of his face to his chin.

He saw the frantic worry in your eyes, so he did the first thing he could think of to calm you. He wrapped his arm around you in a tight hug.

“It’s okay. I’ll be okay. You’ll be okay.” he repeats. His mind is fuzzy from the head wound.

His hugs are so nice, so warm and comforting.

“I got demon healing abilities, remember?” he whispers and you smile.

V:

Getting used to a feeble new body was still a big challenge for him. Not to mention that it was already beginning to deteriorate.

He tried his best to keep up with you on the battlefield, he really did, but maybe it wasn’t enough.

Shadow was stalemated at the moment, leaving him only Griffon and Nightmare to defend himself. One cog of this four-piece machine was missing, and that’s all it took for it to fall apart.

V suffered a blow to his side. He felt his rib break as he fell to the ground. He also heard you shout his name.

He gritted his teeth in pain. His body was so susceptible, so weak, so human.

V looked up to see you still fighting. You were careless because of your rage. You were going to get hurt. He shouts your name and you ignore him. He has to get up and pull you away.

“This battle isn’t ours to win yet. Let’s go, please.” he says the last part with such conviction, you only nod and retreat with him.

As you sit him down, the worry starts to set in.

“Tis’ but a scratch.” V chuckles dryly. Griffon audibly groans from above.

You seriously ask if he’s okay.

“I’ll be okay. This won’t be enough to kill me.” he answers and watches as you relax slightly.

His body had slowly been losing it’s energy to carry on for a while now and although what he told you wasn’t a lie, he wondered what you would do when he’s not there anymore.

Quick Question about V and his familiars...

hi. I really need to sleep but I cannot stop thinking about this.

it's explained in the manga (Visions of V) that V can share thoughts with his familiars, even when they aren't summoned. This raises the question: when V is in an ~intimate situation~ (up to reader interpretation) are his familiars aware of it and do they share his thoughts and feelings in that moment? How does V feel about this?? Can he turn off his telepathy link with them?? how does it work?

Nero's reaction to a seriously injured S/O

Mild angst. ft. Nero and a gender neutral s/o [tw for blood, descriptions of wounds, seriously lots of blood wth]

You were in over your head. Maybe somewhere along the way you messed up or maybe you caused too much of a ruckus, either way you were now faced with more demons than you could easily take care of. Before you could think of a solid escape plan or even call Nero over to help you, a sharp thwack made it's home in the muscle connecting your shoulder and neck. Pausing for a second to confirm what had just happened, you quickly touched the shoulder only to feel warm red on your fingertips. You didn't see which demon hit you, you were more concerned with carving a path to get away and assessing the damage done.

It wouldn't stop bleeding. It wasn't bad enough that you couldn't move your arm and it hurt to try and crane your neck to actually see the wound, the amount of red spilling down the front of your shirt was starting to get concerning.

You looked over and could see Nero in the distance fending off the last of the demons he had to deal with. Inhaling a deep breath, you shouted his name so hard your lungs hurt. Surely, he could see the predicament you were in. He ran over as fast as he could.

When Nero caught up, you were resigned to sitting on the floor. "I don't feel good." you said shakily.

"Yeah, well that's obvious." Nero replied, examining the gaping wound on your shoulder. He called Nico as soon as he could get his phone out. Luckily, the wound didn't look serious so long as he could stop the bleeding.

"I feel dizzy." you told him as he sat you down on the couch in Nico's van. Numbness was quickly spreading from the affected shoulder, down the arm attached to it.

"You'll be fine." he reassured you, although the same warm energy in his words didn't reach his face. His calm persona was slowly falling apart at the seams. It didn't stop him from trying to keep you awake and alert though.

"So, what do you want me to cook for dinner?" he asked as he pressed a cloth firmly to your wound.

"Uhmm" your mind was fuzzy, taking all your strength to think of the words to an answer.

"Alright, but don't blame me if we have to get takeout because of this." he warned as he gestured to your arm.

Your shoulder would be fine with stitches for a few weeks and "no strenuous exercise". Your arm was fastened in a sling.

"At least you got to keep your arm." Nero teases when he first sees you in the sling.

"At least you got to grow yours back." you retort.

Accidental confessions: The women of DMC 5

A continuation post to the other accidental confessions post. ft. Lady, Trish and Nico with a gender neutral soon-to-be s/o.

Lady:

If she confesses-

She’s definitely very likely to let it slip. She tries so hard to not tell you though. (That or Trish will tell you to embarrass her)

 Tries to backtrack and take back her words. 

“No I don’t like you, that was a joke.” It was not a joke.

Eventually she’ll have to face you and tell you, but she’ll put that off for as long as she can. 

If you confess-

She laughs. She actually laughs in your face.

She’s not used to affection, especially not romantic affection so she has no idea what to do or how to handle this. She probably ends up making it worse.

Eventually she’ll address your feelings and talk to you about it, even if she doesn’t feel the same (not like that’s very likely though).

Trish:

If she confesses- 

Yeah right, like she ever will. Would rather go to her grave than admit it to you.

If she does have a slip up, she simply will pretend it never happened. 

You’ll have to tell her you feel the same way before she admits what happened.

If you confess-

“I like you.”  “Aw sweetie, everyone likes me.”

She now sees you as a cute little plaything (respectably) like a puppy.

Very much girlboss sugar mommy vibes. (She sends Dante all the bills for the presents she buys you, much to his dismay)

Likes having you around to chat with.

Nico:

If she confesses-

If it was actually an accident, she roll with it and pretend it wasn’t. Might as well confess now as the Gods will have it.

Very comfortable and understanding, takes it well even if you turn her down.

She’s just fun to be around in general, whether she’s your girlfriend or not. 

Expect lots of double dates with Nero and Kyrie.

If you confess-

Doesn’t take you seriously at first and thinks its a joke. She plays along for a while.

Uh oh the “joke” has been alive for too long and now you two are married... but as a joke.

Eventually you’ll have to tell her that you actually meant it. She’s chill with it, she’ll tease you for not telling her earlier, but she’s chill.

DMC 5 boys: Overprotective edition

Wherein the boys snap when their s/o gets hurt. ft. Dante, Vergil, Nero, and V with a gender neutral s/o

Dante:

The situation when he’d most likely snap is if someone hurts you to try and get to him. If someone knew he was close to you, and wanted to hurt you as an act of revenge aimed at Dante. That would really piss him off.

Switches to his Sin Devil Trigger form to beat them to a pulp. It’s probably best just to wait it out until he runs out of stamina and changes back (which doesn’t take too long when he’s in his SDT form).

Once he’s back, grab his face and assure him you’re okay. Tell him you just want to go home, he’ll listen to you.

Hurting his s/o is a good way to be on Dante’s “I hate you forever” list. He can hold a grudge for a very long time.

Vergil:

Pretty much anyone who hurts you in any way will be on bad terms with him for the rest of his life. Usually his menacing aura is enough to scare them into running away.

If an enemy was condescending to you in battle because you got hurt he would probably flip his lid. (A good rule of thumb for Vergil: never underestimate him or his s/o)

He fights with no regard to his safety, which is easier when he has special demon healing abilities, but it still worries you. He’s the scariest of the four when he snaps.

The battle is over before it even began. Hug him to ground him and tell him that he’s scaring you, he’ll feel bad and apologize.

Nero:

The most likely out of the four to lose it. (I mean come on, he went crazy after Dante called him deadweight...)

Snaps if you got hurt in a way that he could’ve prevented. If he was only there faster, if he had only saw, if he was stronger... He blames himself. 

Gives it his all in an attempt to prove himself. He wants to make it clear that he is strong and to prove (mostly to himself) that he can protect you next time. Being around legendary fighters such as Dante has given him somewhat of an inferiority complex.

Tug on his jacket and tell him to stop and think. Make sure he knows that he’s your strong boy and that you like his soft side as well.

V:

V is levelheaded most of the time. He knows when to give up and retreat if a fight is too much for him so it’s very rare that he’ll snap.

If he does it would probably be when he’s backed into a corner when you can’t fight anymore. He feels trapped, so he doesn’t flip because he can afford to, but because he has to.

He fights for survival. The moment you went down, he genuinely thought he was going to lose. V is aware he isn’t the strongest fighter, but hopefully he’ll be strong enough. He has to win for your sake.

It’s like an adrenaline rush, he doesn’t quite realize what is happening until it’s over and you’re calling his name. Call him over to sit with you for a while, he’s tired.
