In the dimly lit chamber, the young witch draws near the heavy tome, its whispers growing more insistent. She holds her breath, delicately tracing her finger along the adorned runes, and suddenly, a large yellow eye on the cover snaps open. The book quivers with an otherworldly aura, defying gravity as it hovers before her. Flipping itself open, it reveals the sought-after page, and from its forgotten pages, power surges into her outstretched hand. But what price must she pay for such forbidden knowledge and untamed power?

This goes to show that war can change everyone, no matter how good they were, they can always turn dark.

The Chosen One

The prophecy of the Chosen One is to bring balance to the force, but what does that really mean? Some people assume it means the same amount of Jedi and Sith, and thus think that Vader did indeed bring balance by helping kill the Jedi. But that's not it. The force was not balanced in the time of the Galactic Empire. Pain and suffering were abundant, and almost no one but the cruel were happy. Is that truly balance or just darkness everywhere? A quote from the Revenge of the Sith novel from Matthew Stover says this, "The Sith did not create darkness, they simply used that which was already there." So the Jedi did drive back the darkness by creating light, but the Sith just harnessed the dark power that was already abundant, threatening to take over the light. That is what the Chosen One was born to do. He was born to bring back the Jedi, the Lightmakers, in a time of utter darkness and despair. That is what bringing balance to the force really means.
