Although you and Robin were a couple nobody outside of yourselves knew about it. It had to be that way. For both your guys’ safety, it was for the best that nobody knew that you two were together. And to prevent people from finding out you could not be physically affectionate in public. No kissing, no hand holding, no hugging. Nothing to imply that there were romantic feelings involved.

But you loved Robin too much to keep your hands off of her. And she was the same. So to make up for the loss of touch you have come up with a secret code. It was the simple touch of your pinkies. You would use it for all kinds of situations when you guys wanted to touch in very public areas. On the school bus and you guys are sitting next to each other, your pinkies would rest on top of each other for the entire ride. In science class, she would pass by your table and tap your finger with hers like a quick peck on the cheek.

During lunch, your pinkies would be locked together under the table away from prying eyes. It was always a risk but with your pinkies locked it felt safer than being alone.

Sometimes, if Robin was having a bad day she would tap on your finger in morse code to rescue her. Or in English class, while the teacher is talking she will kiss her pinky and you would do the same. That’s when you missed each other.

And at school dances, you would sit together during the slow songs. You would just hold each other’s fingers in the darkness. You wished you could pull her onto the dance with her like everyone else. But because of where you were existing in rural Hawkins, Indiana it would raise too many alarm bells.

So the quiet moments are what you’ll accept. Whether it be in the movies or eating dinner at a restaurant Your pinkies just graze each other while you walk side by side. With Robin, these moments meant the most. No matter where you were, when pinkies touch it was a sign you were together and you loved each other.

Idk why the idea of Fk ari not having it when reader wants to go get some things from the grocery store late at night alone. Like she’s craving some ice cream so she’s like “im gonna go buy some brb” and ari is just like ?????? Wait for me ???? And she’s like “ill be quick stay here” and he’s just “absolutely fucking not im going or no ice cream”

"I don't care!" Comes Ari's muffled voice.

Just a second ago, he was lounging on the couch in his grey sweats, strumming away at his guitar while you did a puzzle on the floor. Then, you spotted your designated ice cream mug (a thrifted mug with a crude cat painting) on the shelf. For a split second, you got excited for some ice cream before you went to bed, but then you remembered you had finished the tub yesterday.

The only option to feed this abrupt craving? Late night ice cream run.

You were fine going alone. It didn't make sense for Ari to get dressed to come along when you could just take your bike and be back within ten minutes at max.

"Look, you either wait a fuckin' minute, or you don't go at all and I'll go pick it up alone."

"That doesn't make sense!"

"It doesn't have to. Stop pouting, I don't have to see you to know you're doing it."

Your frown disappears. "So bossy..." You roll on the heels of your feet, cocking your head at the quarter-finished puzzle on the floor. It was a peaceful garden with plenty of colourful flowers and too much green. Over half the pieces were different shades of green. It was going to take you a while to complete.

"Oh please, I know you love it." He emerges from the bedroom in jeans with messy hair, and his shirt half-buttoned. He goes to the kitchen and swings open the fridge, then the freezer and the cabinets. "We need to go grocery shopping anyway."

"I was gonna go to the convenient store!"

"And now we're going to the grocery store." He takes out several reusable bags, "they have more ice cream flavours anyway—and they have the good ones."

You fall back onto the couch, "Ugh, but I don't wanna walk around for thirty minutes."

"I'll carry you if I have to." Ari slips on his shoes, stuffing his wallet into his pocket. "Pick a hat for me, sugar."

You point to the pink one with the worn brim, and he puts it on his head, holding back his long brown hair.

"Well, get up then!" He promptly yanks you up, making you crash into his chest with a squeak. "Let's get you all your snacks too, baby, you still like those little gummies?"

Poppy really catched my heart with the plot 😌 like imagine them set in college or in a very boring normal office where people slowly start to speculate the two hunks men 👀 the dynamics r very interesting and i can just imagine reader defending them before and after finding out
